Female 'friend' sent this to DH - can anyone translate from Polish?

So, my husband has a female friend. Big deal, he has many. I've never had a problem with his female friends. Ever. In fact, I've become friends with all the others. Love them to bits.

Until this one. She's also married and something about her jars with me. Then this popped up on his phone yesterday. He had sent her a picture of our son excited about Easter eggs. She replied with this meme, followed by the word for "sweetie" in Polish with hug emoji.

If someone out there speaks fluent Polish, please translate and let me know AIBU to feel uncomfortable with this woman sending this sort of thing to my husband. Much appreciated.

If you type the words into google translate, does it come up with anything?

teablanket · 13/04/2020 05:59

From Google translate:

  • I can't do it anymore.
  • Hold on kitty. When it ends, we will leave the whole family for a long vacation. Everyone in their direction.
TKAAHUARTG · 13/04/2020 06:07

Is your husband Polish?

Oysterbabe · 13/04/2020 06:08

That doesn't sound great.

lonelySam · 13/04/2020 06:08

What teablanket wrote is accurate however this quote comes from a FB group and it was used there in the context of the lockdown.

I would read it that way too - i. e. people waiting for the lockdown to finish. Nothing to do with a relationship.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 13/04/2020 06:09

It had 1.3k shares on facebook
Comments inferred it was funny
Is it not just a riff on Corona from Casablanca but getting lost in translation?

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 13/04/2020 06:10

X-post

lonelySam · 13/04/2020 06:10

Sorry the teablanket tex is not accurate. It should read 'we will leave WITH the famy for a long holiday. Each in their own dorection'

AvalancheKit · 13/04/2020 06:10

From an online translation :

  • My hovercraft is full of eels
  • But why darling? Was that really an essential trip and how are we going to freeze them all?
lonelySam · 13/04/2020 06:10

Ffs sorry for the typos.

tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:11

I've used Google translate but it's not always accurate and obviously doesn't pick up on certain tones, which is why I wanted a Polish person to translate.

They're both Polish.

tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:12

See what I mean! Two very different translations.

I would still be wary in your shoes. I learned from experience to trust my intuition when it fires up like yours has, especially if you are not usually suspicious or jealous as a partner

araiwa · 13/04/2020 06:14

Being sent a meme is suspicious?

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/04/2020 06:17

Roughly:

I can’t do this any more. Hold on there baby. Once this is finished we’ll leave the whole family for a long holiday. Each in his own direction.

The last bit doesn’t entirely make sense to me, but my Polish isn’t fluent.

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/04/2020 06:19

I don’t think in itself it is suspicious, but trust your spidey sense.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 13/04/2020 06:22

Yes but it has been on facebook with comments beneath about liking dark humour/''once this is finished = optimist'' so clearly it has been sent as a Look this is funny...as opposed to a coded message you're Rick I'm Ilsa.

tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:22

@Sulla7 Yeah, definitely not a suspicious person. So I can’t put it down to that. There have been a lot of red flags with this woman. Not just with my husband but other women’s partners too. When I heard that I wasn’t at all surprised.

OP posts:
RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2020 06:31

This is not suspect

You are suspicious- either because you have cause to be or because you need to reconsider your actions
Think carefully about how you are behaving

tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:35

Sorry @RonaldMcDonald. Confused. What exactly is it about my behaviour that needs to be reconsidered? How am I behaving?

OP posts:
incognitomum · 13/04/2020 06:36

Was this sent privately?

FortunesFave · 13/04/2020 06:39

I agree it's to do with Corona. But your spidey senses are not tingling for nothing.

tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:43

I realise it’s to do with corona and lockdowns, but the way I read it using Google Translate and my own mediocre Polish was that as soon as it was over they would escape their family/s together. Just seems like a very strange meme for a married woman to share with her married friend, of all the memes she could share.

It was sent in a text, so privately.

OP posts:
tippingpoint14 · 13/04/2020 06:45

I wish it was about a hovercraft full of eels Sad

UkuleleRose · 13/04/2020 06:46

Apologies if this is inappropriate, but is that pic Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer in Gaslight? (Not that it would mean anything.)
