Friend saying her (huge) bum is small

h3av3n · 09/04/2020 19:13

AIBU to be getting irritated with this and be baffled? She is always saying this to me even though it's HUGE and mine is definitely smaller as she can see... and people always tell her it's big so surely she knows? But she will talk about how it's not big and she needs to start growing it etc (weight training) even though she literally gets comments on it on a regular basis. On one hand maybe she literally can't see how big it is, a lot of women are very critical of their bodies... but to actually say it's small and not big even though she's constantly getting comments on it?!
By the way this isn't a jealousy issue, it just baffles me why she is always saying this to me even though people always say it's big... also the fact mine is definitely smaller but she calls hers small and not big directly to me

Making it clap means moving/twerking in a certain way which makes the two cheeks clap together

Well.
That’s something for us all to be mastering during this extended period of seclusion.

HepzibahGreen · 11/04/2020 18:27

Christ. I could cause a small earthquake doing that. Best not.

Macncheeseballs · 11/04/2020 18:29

God there is no way I could do that

Page3 · 11/04/2020 19:25

God there is no way I could do that

I can do it...dp finds it hilarious oh and I can only do it lay on my front. . Grin

bringincrazyback · 11/04/2020 19:59

What do you think is the current standard for what's considered most attractive for womens bodies in the mainstream then? It has been this way for a while.

@h3av3n it's really starting to get on my wick the way you keep informing us what is considered desirable 'in the mainstream' and amongst various strata of society. Unless you're holding the results of recent Gallup polls about butt sizes in your hands while you post, you have no definitive proof that this is how the 'mainstream' think or indeed how anyone else thinks. Please don't keep talking down to us by couching your personal view on this topic as hard fact. As for this being the norm 'among white people', how can you possibly say that unless you have polled a large cross-section of white people on this matter? I am a white person and I don't remember anyone asking for my opinion on this.

As to why people are calling you immature, the fact that you've started a thread about this and are talking about bollocks like 'making it clap' speaks for itself. I'm actually quite annoyed with myself for wasting keystrokes on this thread, but your constant assertions about 'what is considered attractive' are now irritating me to the extent where I just had to say something. You're coming across as not only immature but arrogant to boot.

Stop watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians or whatever else is informing these 'opinions' and try getting some broader life experience before you preach about what's 'considered attractive'. Sheesh.

Snog · 11/04/2020 20:09

I think you fancy her

h3av3n · 11/04/2020 20:15

I don't watch Kardashians etc, it isn't a view, it's literally just the current trend... this is shown in mainstream media, porn, social media, popular music, music videos, cosmetic surgery trends, mens tastes especially young men (i'm late 20s) but older men too, maybe related to their porn/mainstream media consumption, womens gym habits, popular culture, current discourse about body image/beauty standards etc... Saying it's currently the ideal and what's considered attractive in the mainstream is very different to me saying it's most attractive or everyone finds it most attractive... Big bums have been in fashion for quite a few years now... I would rather not know this but the current most popular pornstars all have big bums plus a big percentage of women considered hot in current popular culture. Literally every one of my peers is aware that this is the current thing, my mum too even though she isn't into Kardashians and things like that... I'm surprised you hadn't noticed this trend

AuntMasha · 11/04/2020 20:27

Anyone fancy a pint?

0blio · 11/04/2020 20:31

Oh well, if your mum says it's fashionable it must be.

h3av3n · 11/04/2020 20:35

My point was just that people can be aware of the current body standards without watching Kardashians and that type of thing...

OP posts:
Etulosba · 11/04/2020 20:54

but older men too

I'm an older man, and I don't find disproportionately large bums remotely attract. Quite the opposite. Give me a neat bum any day.

As for the Kardashian look... half woman, half horse. Is that what you want to look like? The only thing worse in my mind would be to pair a Kardashian arse with sink plunger lips.

The "clap" thing makes me want to be sick.

Etulosba · 11/04/2020 20:55

...remotely attractive.

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 11/04/2020 21:12

I would rather not know this but the current most popular pornstars all have big bums

Most of us don't follow the porn charts.

EmpressLangClegInChair · 11/04/2020 21:17

I seem to have missed the current trend completely without even trying. Oh dear.

Mittens030869 · 11/04/2020 22:08

Most of us don't follow the porn charts.

Exactly. I can't even imagine being remotely interested in knowing about the 'porn charts'. For someone who isn't interested, you're remarkably knowledgeable, OP. I think you've been protesting too much about not wanting to know.

h3av3n · 11/04/2020 22:11

I don't actually watch porn but like most women my age, I have been exposed to it. Also I work in a male dominated job and went to a mixed sex school so can't help but hear about things like porn etc...

OP posts:
HarlanWillYouStopNamingNuts · 11/04/2020 22:13

Making it clap means moving/twerking in a certain way which makes the two cheeks clap together
Just to be clear, are we now expected to do this on Thursday evening? Because if so I will need to practise.

h3av3n · 11/04/2020 22:14

Also porn has really seeped into mainstream popular culture now so you're going to know about the popular pornstars etc if you're of a certain demographic

OP posts:
HoffiCoffi13 · 11/04/2020 22:20

What demographic? I’m genuinely interested. I’m 35 and couldn’t name a single porn star. When I was in my 20’s I wouldn’t have been able to either.

h3av3n · 11/04/2020 22:21

Etulosba Why would it matter what you find attractive? Do you really think women need to know this or that it presents anything relevant to the thread? Also you've missed the point of the thread which was about whether I'm unreasonable to be irritated by my friend talking about this a lot

OP posts:
h3av3n · 11/04/2020 22:23

I'm in my 20s and yes things have changed significantly with regards to porn etc even more so for younger women/girls than me, it's disturbing but it's reality

OP posts:
borntobequiet · 11/04/2020 22:25

Clap is an unfortunate word in this context.

squishedgrapes · 11/04/2020 22:26

This thread is very unsettling
