I suspect he has developed pneumonia if his symptoms have not subsided after 7 days probably because he has still been working flat out and not taking it easy. Hopefully if he is sedated he will get the rest his body needs to fight the infection helped by the antibiotics they must be giving him

missingmydad · 06/04/2020 20:58

My Dad spent 24 hours in ITU without being on a ventilator, it's not a given.

I8toys · 06/04/2020 20:59

Come on bojo. Get better!

MarshaBradyo · 06/04/2020 20:59

I feel utterly rotten about this too, hard to express but am so tense
I hope he pulls through

The80sweregreat · 06/04/2020 20:59

He was probably monitored from day one so his chances will be higher than someone who hasn't had any proper care at first.
It's still awful news though. I hope he can fight it off.
On a political level we will need a new PM.
This awful virus has caused complete havoc.

speakout · 06/04/2020 21:00

AndromedaPerseus

What antibiotics would they give him for covid 19?

crazydiamond222 · 06/04/2020 21:00

The news reports are saying that
'The prime minister is understood to be conscious and to have been moved as a precaution in case he needs ventilation'

Canshopwillshop · 06/04/2020 21:01

This is terrible news. Get well soon Boris.

Eskarina1 · 06/04/2020 21:01

@Leaannb I'm so sorry.

Every single death is devastating and I hope he pulls through.

vanillandhoney · 06/04/2020 21:01

On a political level we will need a new PM.

Dominic Raab will take over.

PerkingFaintly · 06/04/2020 21:02

Shit. Hope he turns a corner soon.

Malvinaa81 · 06/04/2020 21:02

Bad news for the country.

Let's hope he recovers.

Bathroom12345 · 06/04/2020 21:02

Lougle. Thank you. You sound like you know what you are talking about.

Ilovemypantry · 06/04/2020 21:02

I actually cried when I heard this. I hope and pray he recovers

Changednamesorry · 06/04/2020 21:02

Poor man. I hope he recovers and quickly.

Eskarina1 · 06/04/2020 21:03

@speakout they explained on the news today if it caused pneumonia to develop the antibiotics treat the pneumonia

whiplashy · 06/04/2020 21:03

scary

user127819 · 06/04/2020 21:03

@Undecided91
There are a lot of things we don't know about this virus, but it seems that most people get a mild disease (even older and less healthy people), but some people get hit really badly. And although Prince Charles is older, he's only 15 years older and very likely in a better state of health.

loopylindazdaughter · 06/04/2020 21:04

I believe it’s as a precaution as much as I believe he was admitted initially for routine investigations.

Ilovemypantry · 06/04/2020 21:05

When I watched the daily briefing this afternoon I had a very strong feeling that we weren’t being told the truth about Boris’ condition

pigsDOfly · 06/04/2020 21:05

Not a fan of Boris, but that's awful, poor man.

Hope he pulls through.

Zug2 · 06/04/2020 21:06

Also Charles wasn't standing on a doorstep at 8pm, while he was horribly ill with CV. Boris looked so sick and vulnerable on the steps of No. 10 clapping, Praying he recovers quickly.

Easilyanxious · 06/04/2020 21:06

Hope he gets well soon .

RedToothBrush · 06/04/2020 21:06

He is NOT on a ventilator

Steven Swinford @Steven_Swinford (Deputy Political Editor at the Times)
Boris Johnson was moved into intensive care at 7pm this evening after his condition worsened over the course of this afternoon

The PM asked Dominic Raab to deputise for him before he moved

He remains conscious but has been removed to intensive care in case he needs a ventilator

Boris Johnson experienced breathing difficulties this afternoon and was given oxygen

When it became clear that he needed to move to intensive care he told an aide that Dominic Raab should deputise for him

He is still conscious

PerpetualCircle · 06/04/2020 21:06

Expert on Sky News just said they don’t give ICU to anyone ,even if they are PM.
