Come on Boris. Pull through Flowers

Mlou32 · 06/04/2020 21:07

He should have taken a rest period when he was diagnosed. Coronavirus will be hard for many people to deal with on its own, let alone with the stress of his job and the relentless hours he'll have been putting in on top of it. He has literally worked himself into the ground trying to lead this country. Bloody shame.

asmuchuseas · 06/04/2020 21:07

I've been saying to OH all along that he's sicker than they're letting on. I thought last night it was something more serious for him to be admitted on a Sunday evening. Since he went in there doesn't seem to have been much news until this.

I hope he pulls through and it is just a precautionary measure.

pigsDOfly · 06/04/2020 21:10

Yes, was just going to say the same Mlou32.

It can't have helped that he just carried on with his very demanding job, this is not something you can just power through.

Daisychainsandglitter · 06/04/2020 21:10

I'm not fan of his but I'm really shocked to hear. I really hope he pulls through.

TimeAintNothing · 06/04/2020 21:10

I hope the press are doing the decent thing and not bombarding the hospital switchboard.

Changeofname79 · 06/04/2020 21:10

This has given me a real sinking feeling. I really hope he pulls through.

I believe that the survival rate in ICU is so low as they are only admitting the absolute worse cases, you have to wonder if they could treat people earlier what the outcomes would be? My NDN is working in ICU and said it is awful and pretty much just a waiting game for patients. In our local hospital the mortality rate is 80% Sad

Bathroom12345 · 06/04/2020 21:10

Whatever your politics this is awful news for the country. There are some horrible horrible comments about this. People saying he has a ‘private’ ventilator etc. Hang your heads in shame. You must be a nasty, horrible person.

Bluntness100 · 06/04/2020 21:11

I’m shocked someone is spreading made up stuff that there are two viruses, one more deadly than the other. Hopefully everyone knows that’s bull shit.

Why Boris is worse than older people. Ie Charles is likely due to one of two things,

One, he potentially had a higher viral load. Which means he took in more of the infection that Charles did. So Charles could fight it off easily, he was only exposed to a small amount of the virus, but because boris took in a lot more of it, he can’t fight it off without help.

Two, Boris may have an underlying condition we are unaware of.

Or I guess three, a mix of both. I’d say it’s more likely he has taken more of the infection in, it was a higher viral load.

I really hope he is going to be ok too. This must be terrifying for his family and any other family who have someone in icu.

nicky7654 · 06/04/2020 21:11

We don't care want you think of Brexit, it's done so get over it!!! Get well soon Mr Johnson we are gunning for a quick recovery !!

1forsorrow · 06/04/2020 21:11

For those asking about the difference in Prince Charles’ case vs BJs this may be the viral load theory- potentially BJ has been exposed to a lot more of it in Parliament etc All that handshaking in hospital probably didn't help.

Bathroom12345 · 06/04/2020 21:12

I do think the government need to be honest now. Where are we with testing?

Zenithbear · 06/04/2020 21:12

This virus is evil, scary stuff. Someone in the next street to us has died of it. Hope he gets better.

AmelieTaylor · 06/04/2020 21:12

Someone should have made him hand over & look after himself. Dragging himself to the window on Thursday was madness.

Hope to God he’s ok

LivinginSilves · 06/04/2020 21:13

I read that Boris has had pneumonia previously so his lung function may not be too good.

RedToothBrush · 06/04/2020 21:14

He is NOT on a ventilator

Steven Swinford @Steven_Swinford (Deputy Political Editor at the Times)
Boris Johnson was moved into intensive care at 7pm this evening after his condition worsened over the course of this afternoon

The PM asked Dominic Raab to deputise for him before he moved

He remains conscious but has been removed to intensive care in case he needs a ventilator

Boris Johnson experienced breathing difficulties this afternoon and was given oxygen

When it became clear that he needed to move to intensive care he told an aide that Dominic Raab should deputise for him

He is still conscious

Fearofawelshplanet · 06/04/2020 21:14

Really like Boris, read his bio years ago, hope he manages to turn it round, feel for all his family and loved ones. Feel for everyone with loved ones suffering right now.

recklessruby · 06/04/2020 21:14

Not a Tory supporter at all but I m hoping he gets through this and gets better soon.
Poor Boris Sad

AmelieTaylor · 06/04/2020 21:15

@Leaannb 🌷Thank you for being there. Please look after yourself x

Whoareyoudududu · 06/04/2020 21:16

Charles may be older (although only 16 years older) but he’s also fitter and healthier. Also true that Boris’ viral load was probably higher, he kept working through the illness rather than resting as Charles undoubtedly did too.

The virus doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t care who Boris is.

Lougle · 06/04/2020 21:16

He's in the right place should he deteriorate further. In the meantime, he can be given observation to make sure that he's in the best position possible.

Winecheesesleep · 06/04/2020 21:17

I really hope he's OK, my heart goes out to him and his family. It brings it home how awful this virus can be as surely he'll have had the best care available.

LagunaBubbles · 06/04/2020 21:17

Can't abide the man or his politics but really hoping he makes a full recovery, both at a personal level and for the country. Listening to the news about it just being a "precaution" makes my heart sink, no-one gets moved to ICU in the middle of a pandemic as a precaution.

WaktiWapnasi · 06/04/2020 21:17

I can't stand him but wouldnt wish this on anybody and I dearly hope for his childrens sake, if no one else's that he makes a speedy recovery.

Xenia · 06/04/2020 21:18

I know I am one of the few Tory voters on MN, but I just want to say how nice it is of even the Labour supporters above offering kind words. Now is not a time for party political differences.

I would also like to say to everyone if you don't have a will get one made with a solicitor. if BJ has not made one since his divorce it is going to be a huge mess given his complicated private life. Also make sure your life insurance and pension is always up to date in terms of who are your beneficiaries.
