In Knowsley we've just had claps, drums, whistling, shouts of thank you and fireworks

THANK YOU NHS!!

isseywith4vampirecats · 26/03/2020 20:06

I went out and total silence in our street full of older middle class people who obviously don't think much of the key workers, I clapped on my own

Sux2buthen · 26/03/2020 20:06

I have a baby asleep on me and expected nothing around here but every door opened on my street and the sounds of claps and cheers was actually a bit moving.

ivfbabymomma1 · 26/03/2020 20:07

Our whole street came out to clap it was lovely!

Mordred · 26/03/2020 20:07

Clapped and cheered VERY LOUDLY here in de55 :-)

HoneysuckIejasmine · 26/03/2020 20:07

issey or maybe didn't know about it? I've only seen it on FB.

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 26/03/2020 20:08

We had in Cornwall it was lovely

Sirzy · 26/03/2020 20:08

Yup loads out here

SapphireSalute · 26/03/2020 20:08

it was moving....all day i was saying it was a rubbish idea but as dd is frontline we went out and were surprised.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 26/03/2020 20:08

Our street is usually a ghost town. Everyone 'lives' in the back room so there's never any lights on etc. Went out at 8pm feeling a bit silly and lots of people out. Very moving.

CricketCrocket · 26/03/2020 20:08

We had loads clapping near me. South east.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 26/03/2020 20:09

Whole street was out here in SE20. Very moving

SnarkWeek · 26/03/2020 20:09

I found it really emotional, which I wasn’t expecting. It was really nice to see our neighbours all out, it felt like being a part of something

YesILikeItToo · 26/03/2020 20:09

Much clapping here in our middle class street of mature folk.

It’s also started off some useful conversations amongst neighbours, so a good night all round.

Thescrewinthetuna · 26/03/2020 20:09

A fair few round here. My own son was cheering loudly (he’s 6) and I think he understands why. Very moving.

Allaboardthemagicbus2020 · 26/03/2020 20:09

It's something, isn't it? Lots of cheering and whistles, etc. Think there must be a few NHS workers on our road as it is not too far from a teaching hospital.

I hope it has done something for them anyway.

Clapping and fireworks here in Lancashire.

user1468438539 · 26/03/2020 20:10

Clapped in Cardiff. Thank you NHS ... and all the other workers keeping us going Smile

TeenPlusTwenties · 26/03/2020 20:10

SO51 clapped.
We don't personally have much sight lines to other front doors but we could hear clapping and cheering echoing around, plus 2 or 3 firework bangs.

mbosnz · 26/03/2020 20:11

We did, fully expecting to be the only ones, and heard so much.

We can do so very little.

Allaboardthemagicbus2020 · 26/03/2020 20:11

Yes, some fireworks going off, I think.

Caterham Surrey - fireworks (clearly an essential purchase, not) and lots of noise, neighbours out and my dog barked in the window!

Pugdoglife · 26/03/2020 20:11

Lots of clapping, cheering and fireworks here.

puds11 · 26/03/2020 20:11

I doubt it’s done much for them though has it Confused They would probably rather PPE than a patronising clap that makes all the people staying safely at home feel better.

CallmeAngelina · 26/03/2020 20:11

15 houses in our close and lots of us did it from windows and front doors. Could hear lots from far away.
Followed by some fireworks.
I also found it quite moving.
