What about everyone else?

OP posts:

I clapped with my choir session on Zoom. I live in the country with few neighbours and so it was great to feel part of this.

DartmoorChef · 26/03/2020 20:11

That was so moving and emotional. All our town could be heard.

crispysausagerolls · 26/03/2020 20:12

Lots of claps and cheering here too! Hope they can hear us

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/03/2020 20:12

We are rural,,the few neighbours we have all clapped.

Pollyanna58 · 26/03/2020 20:13

Issey the same here. Disgusting. It was on the BBC local news. When you think of all those people who have volunteered and the twats on my street couldn’t be asked to get out there for five lousy minutes. I hope they’re doing their bit in other ways.

septsapp · 26/03/2020 20:13

Was amazing ! Pitch black but could hear noise from every direction claps cheers whistles ! Emotional !! Well done to everyone!

CaptainMyCaptain · 26/03/2020 20:13

I forgot as my husband had just got home (from working at the hospital) and wondered what the noise was at first. There was a lot of clapping, whistling and fireworks. Quite impressive really.

DappledThings · 26/03/2020 20:13

Some clapping and whooping in my little village. Couldn't see anyone else out but could hear it.

I can see it becoming a daily thing like it is in Spain.

MrsMozartMkII · 26/03/2020 20:14

We did here in Fife.

lastburritos · 26/03/2020 20:14

Loads where I live. Was very emotional.

The neighbours were out in my street, in their front gardens. Not big houses, in fact I'd say there certainly isnt 2 meters between some two front doors here. So risking the spread of more germs, for what reason? You want to show the NHS respect? Stay inside. They need people to keep as safe as possible, they need more equipment, they need better wages. A clap, as good as the intentions are, means sweet fuck all if it means one more person got accidentally infected by standing too near their neighbours.

DearTeddyRobinson · 26/03/2020 20:15

SW16 were out!!

DickAmbush · 26/03/2020 20:15

Cambridgeshire here. I was doing my daily run on my way home from work, there were loads of people on their doorsteps clapping, including residents from the nursing home banging pots and pans! Fireworks too. I clapped as I ran Grin

TheQueef · 26/03/2020 20:15

All the street.
Even the flats all had windows flung open.
It's the only thing many can do, it was moving.

Whatsetshortfor · 26/03/2020 20:16

@puds11 Well, no it hasn’t magicked them PPE, but we can’t do that can we? What we can do is this small thing to show that we’re grateful.

FizzyPink · 26/03/2020 20:16

I feel a bit bad, I was thinking all day what a stupid idea it was and if people really wanted to show appreciation they could do something practical or donate money instead but actually it was quite sweet

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/03/2020 20:16

We went out. Could hear a few people clapping in my neighbourhood. Not many people.

alittlecloudfloatinginthesky · 26/03/2020 20:16

Clapping, cheering, whistles, banging pots, and boat horns here.

I didn't think people would really do it, I'm really impressed that so many actually made the effort (particularly the guys on the boats)!

MoonlightMistletoe · 26/03/2020 20:16

CR0 - a lot of clapping and a fire work, someone on my road was picked up by paramedics in an ambulance as everyone was clapping and they beeped their horn as they drove past. Very emotional.

puds11 · 26/03/2020 20:17

Dunno, people hoarding masks at home could donate them.

MowzersAsleep · 26/03/2020 20:17

Cornwall here, lots of Thank You's being shouted & clapping Flowers

TheCanyon · 26/03/2020 20:17

Lots of clapping round here followed by friends ds playing the pipes.

UseByDateExpired · 26/03/2020 20:17

SW2, bordering SW16, was out!

VEGAS2016 · 26/03/2020 20:18

Lots out here in hampshire! Im a nurse in the NHS & it actually made me feel a bit emotional hearing it. Yes of course we need PPE but to feel we are appreciated goes along way!
