TheRealHousewife · 26/03/2020 20:27

We were on our own clapping & cheering. Village of 120 and no one else bothered 😕

Many older people carrying on as normal too!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/03/2020 20:27

BR1 clapped- brought a tear to my eye!
Mad times, the odd selfish person, but on the whole a united country and effort !

Thank you nhs!

Neighneigh · 26/03/2020 20:27

Ahh good work SE13 and thank you @Allaboardthemagicbus2020 - we lived in se13 for many years. Sadly now we're in the middle of nowhere up north with no neighbours but I did clap on my own

1FootInTheRave · 26/03/2020 20:27

My whole street was out.

Very emotional tbh.

Chottie · 26/03/2020 20:27

Fireworks and claps in BR2 (south London :) )

spiderlight · 26/03/2020 20:28

Virtually our whole street was out in Cardiff, clapping, cheering, expressing our appreciation and feeling a little bit less alone.

MouthBreathingRage · 26/03/2020 20:28

@CallmeAngelina, one what? Is it completely unreasonable to suggest that standing out in the street at this time, where we have been told to stay indoors at all cost, is probably not the smartest thing to do? So people can feel like they're showing some 'Blighty Spirit' and think clapping and setting off fireworks will help NHS staff carry on without the equipment and staff they so desperately need?

I have appreciation for the NHS. I've seen family members struggle for years working for them, seeing services decimated, the industry destroyed. Now it's really about to hit the fan, all those years of no funding is going to mean even more casualties. So perhaps clapping in the street is not the smartest thing to do at the moment.

Dollygirl2008 · 26/03/2020 20:28

Oxford were out!!

SapphireSalute · 26/03/2020 20:29

oh god the dog pics are unbearable @OchAyeThaNoo

catnidge · 26/03/2020 20:29

Lots out in our bit of London. An ambulance was driving past and put its blues on.

sockittome123 · 26/03/2020 20:29

Quite a few out here in Bedfordshire

Chottie · 26/03/2020 20:29

DD said CB2 (Cambridge were clapping :) )

mbosnz · 26/03/2020 20:30

I'd love to be able to magic some PPE out my bloody arse. Unfortunately, I'm still shitting only twinkies. Patronising? I'm in fricking awe of these people, who are doing far too much, risking far too much, sacrificing far too much, more than they ever (or we) thought possible.

And I can't do a damned bloody thing to help them.

mushroom3 · 26/03/2020 20:30

Lots of clapping and cheering in SE15

APatchyTomCat · 26/03/2020 20:30

Me and DH have been eye rolling about it all day. Then at 19:59 he went out 'to listen'.

20:00 He's whooping and clapping like a loon.
20:30 so am I grin

Was nice in the end.

Elderflower14 · 26/03/2020 20:31

I'm front line but not NHS we went out to clap and our neighbour over the hedge called out and thanked me! ♥

Fedupandpoor · 26/03/2020 20:31

Clapping in PL5! Ds shouted Happy Birthday Blush

NotEnoughTime · 26/03/2020 20:31

Lots of clapping in my area. I found it very moving. Thank you to all those who work for the NHS in whichever capacity Flowers

WeakandWobbly · 26/03/2020 20:31

We clapped in South Buckinghamshire! Rang bells too. Thank you NHS😀

Thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat · 26/03/2020 20:31

We didn't know anything about it! We went out and heard the clapping and fireworks and thought it was an illegal party. Blush Googled it, found it, and clapped a bit late Grin

MargotSimpson · 26/03/2020 20:31

Lots of clapping where I am. Was really emotional. Thank you, NHS. What you’re doing for us all is truly amazing.

DailyKegelReminder · 26/03/2020 20:32

North London here. Lots clapped from their doorstep/windows and a few car horns. Ambulance drove by my siblings house lighting the street blue. Suprised how much it choked me tbh

Marieo · 26/03/2020 20:32

Nothing here, but a lot of young families so probably in bed, no doubt though that people respect them any less. Bit confused by the fireworks, why?

ChesterBelloc · 26/03/2020 20:33

@mushroom3 we're also in SE15! Our whole area was full of cheers and applause Smile

Mooooooon · 26/03/2020 20:33

Thank you.

I just shed some really happy tears in the garden. I’m knackered but really appreciated that,.
