Anyone else finding themselves watching TV - like a drama or something and wondering why the people aren't two metres apart and have they washed their hands thoroughly? Not to mention walking in crowds!

It reminds me of how we used to be able to smoke in restaurants and indoors on trains etc ! Now you see an old film with people smoking indoors and can't understand how they are getting away with it 😂😂 everyone is definitely wary now it may stick long past everything going back to normal I can't imagine ever kissing or a hug for someone on greeting them now !

1984isnow · 26/03/2020 20:43

I also can't help relating everything to 1984, at the minute. I'm just waiting for huge posters with 'Boris is watching, stay in' to show up everywhere.

AnxiousOverCovid · 26/03/2020 20:45

Yes! I thought it was just me. Seeing characters holding handrails and opening door handles with their hands and not their elbows makes me wince now. As does seeing them sitting in cafes, restaurants and pubs.

PickleThePenguin · 26/03/2020 20:45

I was reading a book earlier and when they mentioned queuing I automatically pictured everyone standing 2 meters apart! Grin

planetcloud · 26/03/2020 20:45

DonttouchthatLarry that's exactly what I thought of - better see if there are any red coats and bonnets for sale on Amazon before we can get back to work!

It's like all the old police drama's where I find myself thinking 'why don't you just phone for back up??'

teafourtoo · 26/03/2020 20:47

OMG yes! I'm finding it really weird watching people doing normal things on TV pre CV

EmeraldShamrock · 26/03/2020 20:48

Yes watching Holby city they shared sweets from the same bags, touching unnecessarily. Shock I don't think we'll ever be the same.

MumW · 26/03/2020 20:50

So glad it isn't just me. Grin

bringincrazyback · 26/03/2020 20:51

So glad it's not just me! Grin

chomalungma · 26/03/2020 20:53

I was out walking. I was going through an alleyway. A jogger came towards me but then put himself in a 'holding pattern' before entering the alleyway after I left.

HazelBite · 26/03/2020 20:54

Its the adverts for things that you just can't get at the moment, that damned Koala, and the groaning shelves in Morrison's and the compramising in ASDA......all a bit pointless at the moment!

bringincrazyback · 26/03/2020 20:54

It's like all the old police drama's where I find myself thinking 'why don't you just phone for back up??'

On old TV shows where someone's missed a phone call and don't know who called, I always find myself thinking 'why don't they just do 1471?... oh, that's right, it didn't exist.' Grin

NickMyLipple · 26/03/2020 20:55

Oh that's nothing- I'm a nurse and every time I go out in my car i think about being more than 2 meters behind the car in front when we stop at traffic lights etc 😂

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 26/03/2020 20:56

What it's really done is brought home to me how cheek-by-jowl we are in a very densely-populated country. Observing the 2-metre rule is actually really difficult. Especially in shops, where people seem more concerned with ransacking the shelves than preserving and protecting their own and others' health.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 26/03/2020 20:59

I can't believe that less than 3 weeks ago I went to a social function of about 50 people most of whom were over 70 all sitting in close proximity!

Feels like a century ago that you could do that.

VerbenaGirl · 26/03/2020 20:59

I thought that when I was watching TV yesterday!

Nicknacky · 26/03/2020 20:59

I went out for a run last night and a young looking guy appeared from the golf course I was passing, wearing all black, black gloves and black scarf pulled up over his face.

Instead of thinking I was gonna get robbed, I thought “good on you”😂

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 26/03/2020 21:00

RedSky

Made me realise that books set in current times would have quite limited plot lines

GrinGrinThanks

chomalungma · 26/03/2020 21:00

The adverts on TV and radio are a bit bizarre at the moment.

I don't think we will handshake again. Maybe a closed hands and a bow.
Will the French kiss again on meeting people?

RedToothBrush · 26/03/2020 21:00

Its Chris Witty with his unblinking scary eyes.

He's like the Demon Headmaster or something.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 26/03/2020 21:01

I have Aspergers. It suits me fine, all of this. Without the death toll, obviously.

Holidayreservation · 26/03/2020 21:05

I thought I had lost the plot.

Every time I see crowds/gathering/people chatting in public I want to yell at the tv but most of what we watch was filmed months ago.

I did like there was a disclaimer before Corrie last night about the rovers. Can’t imagine much of soap if it was just families binging on Netflix with the drama coming from one family pinching the login from someone else.

Thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat · 26/03/2020 21:05

Yes! I mentioned this very thing last night. I'm reading a book where there's just been a wedding, and I'm aghast that they're having a big reception and party Grin or Sad...both probably.

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 26/03/2020 21:08

No one can harass anyone 'accidentally' by brushing up to them.

Even sleaze balls have to be two mètres away.
