Such a good idea Morrisons

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 14:54

I thought it was a great idea. It's enough to keep two adults going for a week. You're most welcome :)

Great idea. Bit expensive for what it is but ideal if you can’t get to the shops.

Apolloanddaphne · 23/03/2020 14:57

That is a brilliant idea. I may order one just to try it out.

Apolloanddaphne · 23/03/2020 14:58

And also because I need some stuff obviously. I am not ordering one for no reason!

CalmYoBadSelf · 23/03/2020 14:59

Great idea. My elderly mum lives 50 miles away and, although she has good neighbours, I worry she might need stuff

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 23/03/2020 15:01

Awesome.

LittleLittleLittle · 23/03/2020 15:01

Collidascope · 23/03/2020 15:08

Thanks, OP. Really useful.

Coffeenofilter · 23/03/2020 15:11

That's amazing! Such a good idea. I'm now sad we don't have a morrisons around here.

We were discussing the other day how even though our friends and us all shop in the same store, so many of them are complaining that they can't get "anything". When what they actually meant when we offered to pick things up (as we weren't having problems finding things), is "they don't have the exact things I want".

These boxes are a fab idea for people who can be flexible in their eating habits. I'd love to make a bolognese, but with no tinned tomatoes or tomato puree, we're just gonna have to suffer through without a bolognese ;)

If enough people took up this idea, it would leave stuff on the shelves for those that need specific products for whatever reason.

(Not that we need to be in this situation anyway, if the fools among us would just stop stripping the shops of everything!!)

JigsawsAreInPieces · 23/03/2020 15:14

They don't deliver to my rural address. Hmm

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 15:16

I hope all the other supermarkets follow suit. They are handy for elderly relatives and for those struggling to get anything at all. I feel the mid week spag bol pain too, no pasta to be found for miles here!

Thank you so much, we are in isolation and I have been worrying, this has saved my worry!!

BettyIsMyFavouriteSquirrel · 23/03/2020 15:17

Such a good idea, I hate supermarkets at the best of times but at the minute I’d be terrified to set foot in one after seeing the images on the news. As long as you’re not a fussy eater this could be quite fun to see what you get.

TheReluctantCountess · 23/03/2020 15:18

That doesn’t look like a lot for £35.

TheReluctantCountess · 23/03/2020 15:19

Oh hang on! It says £30 worth of goods in there. They should use a picture which reflects that 😆

BullshitVivienne · 23/03/2020 15:20

The image is for illustration purposes

BullshitVivienne · 23/03/2020 15:21

Cross posted!

playthestation · 23/03/2020 15:22

It's a good idea for many, however I wonder if the introduction of these, particularly if the other supermarkets follow suit, will lead to further in store shortages. I don't think there is a right answer here, and I do feel these boxes have there place, but if they are filling boxes before filling shelves then that's more problematic. £35 is a bit steep for that you get.

playthestation · 23/03/2020 15:23

It does say example beef OR chicken, so it's unlikely the actual box will be contain more than the example picture.

bobstersmum · 23/03/2020 15:26

Thank you! I have ordered one, got a slot for Wednesday, my mum has ordered one too.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 15:28

@littlemissminor bless you, I'm so glad it helped you. Be safe.

It doesn't look like a lot, but it does state its enough to feed two adults for a week. For some, who can't get anything at all or who are worrying about money, I think they're a lifeline right now.

I can't imagine they'd let their shelves go empty to fill the boxes. Priority is for vulnerable and elderly, then those with a delivery pass. I think the boxes are a fail safe to stop people going without, maybe.
