Absolutely outrageous statement from DH

Advert for Kitkat came on. He says he's not sure he's ever eaten a four finger Kitkat. Two finger yeah, perfect for a post lunch sweet treat, but faced with the choice of any chocolate bar, he definitely wouldn't go for a Kitkat.

I initially thought this was outrageous, but now I think he might have a point.

And I can't find the voting button...

Is he BU??

I don't get them now because they're Nestle. I remember in infant school (mid 80s!) it was the most amazing thing to get one in your lunch box where there was only half a wafer in and the other half was all chocolate.

Fishfingersandwichplease · 16/03/2020 18:40

I think kitkats are an old man's chocolate bar!! My dad used to love them, waste of calories imo!

VeeJayBee · 16/03/2020 18:45

A four finger kitkat is delightful.

But a chunky kitkat peanut butter... oh man, now you’re talking.

slipperywhensparticus · 16/03/2020 18:51

We used to have five finger kitkat back about thirty ish years ago back when it tasted nice

user1498572889 · 16/03/2020 18:57

Not keen on kit kat. I have just eaten a whole box of Jaffa cakes though. 😋

WellTidy · 16/03/2020 19:00

I only ever have a kitkat when I’m on the train and the trolley comes round. I do like one when I have one but would never choose one under other circumstances.

JezebelJinx · 16/03/2020 19:10

I don't want my £s going into nestle's profits,so although I like them .. I won't buy them. I occasionally miss them, but not enough to buy them!

deedeegee · 16/03/2020 20:13

Kitkats, 2,4 or chunky are poor substitutes for real chocolate! Cadbury Tiffin bars are to die for ...!!

FeeLock28 · 16/03/2020 20:18

@OhLook

With you there!

Zipperdidoodaa · 16/03/2020 20:33

Yabu! Kitkats are a waste of calories, the only good bit is the chocolate round the edges and there’s never enough of that, plus it’s Nestle so not even decent chocolate. Give me a Cadbury whole nut bar any time!

moneysavingmama · 16/03/2020 20:33

Haven't had a kit kat in ages! Only get the 4 finger ones to share with DS though really

glennamy · 16/03/2020 20:52

They are ok, but not as good as a choccy finger... And we all love a choccy finger now and again don't we? ;0)

TaterWaffle · 16/03/2020 20:56

Kit-kat memories:

My first boyfriend I were addicted to them, especially dipped in fruit yoghurt. We even gave each other kit-kat tins (48 2-finger bars) for Xmas. I still have my tin 30 years later.

An evening in the pub with a wrong’un, drinking our cider through kit-kats with the ends eaten off. Dirty.

A friend’s sweet little black and white cat called kit-kat. She was so special!

Donating blood, and then being given a hot chocolate and a 2-finger kit-kat. A most pleasant reward.

Crushing hangover. Remedial sugary Vanilla Coke and a kit-kat chunky. Helped a bit and tasted lovely.

Catscatsandmorecats · 16/03/2020 21:27

Op, your DH is right. Kitkats in whatever version contain wafer which contains air all of which is a massive waste of potential chocolate space.

Croprotationinthe14thcentury · 16/03/2020 21:30

I went to school with a posh lass whose surname was KitKat but she pronounced it "keekay" she was a massive twat

Croprotationinthe14thcentury · 16/03/2020 21:31

I got some 2 finger orange ones in Sainsbury's and they are delicious. I like a kitkat

Enko · 16/03/2020 21:34

Boycot N*stle for 20 years and do not miss kitkats at all. Many much better chocolate bars out there.

OlaEliza · 16/03/2020 21:54

I love KitKat's. I still reminisce about the mint and orange ones they did briefly when I was at school. I used to have 2 satsumas and a 2 finger KitKat as I walked to school and 3 B&H's

LovelyIssues · 16/03/2020 22:02

I've had 4 finger ones but personally wouldn't go into a shop and pick them. They're a bit bland. Aero any day!

RightOnTheEdge · 16/03/2020 22:04

I love Kitkats 😍 not the chunky ones though I'm not keen on them.

They are definitely a biscuit though. You can't compare them with a proper chocolate bar.

tinkerbelldot · 16/03/2020 23:05

My husband had an orange flavoured 2-finger kitkat last night with his cuppa. He unwrapped it and just ate it. Didn't snap it in two, or bite the chocolate around the edge NO, just took 2 bites and whoosh, it was all gone!!!
I shouldn't be surprised as he also dunks Jaffa cakes in his tea 😱
We've been married almost 20 years and I never knew he ate a kitkat this way!!! I still love him 💜

Bluewater1 · 16/03/2020 23:07

Oh I love KitKats!!

Sissyjd · 16/03/2020 23:19

I bite the thick lush chocolate ends and top off a chunky kitkat and throw away the rest. Dont judge me!!

motherheroic · 17/03/2020 05:57

If I wanted to buy chocolate I wouldn't buy something that is mostly wafer. I agree with him.

motherheroic · 17/03/2020 05:58

@Enko Nestle own over 2000 brands. So have got really been boycotting them for 20 years. I doubt it.
