Absolutely outrageous statement from DH

Advert for Kitkat came on. He says he's not sure he's ever eaten a four finger Kitkat. Two finger yeah, perfect for a post lunch sweet treat, but faced with the choice of any chocolate bar, he definitely wouldn't go for a Kitkat.

I initially thought this was outrageous, but now I think he might have a point.

And I can't find the voting button...

Is he BU??

Can you still get a Time Out?

MrsMozartMkII · 15/03/2020 20:33

The man is rude.

And wrong.

On every level.

Shock
TopShelf · 15/03/2020 20:35

You lot of absolute vipers are always doing this kind of thing
and making me crave things when I'm on a fucking low carb diet
with not a speck of sodding chocolate in the house. Fuckers.

Caterinaballerina · 15/03/2020 20:35

On mumsnet men can so often seem to be in the wrong but your man is so totally right. I’m also very pleased to hear you are discussing such important topics!

Pinkywoo · 15/03/2020 20:36

There's a dark mint one?! 😮

sarahC40 · 15/03/2020 20:36

I’ve reacted badly to current stress and have now eaten a mars bar.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 15/03/2020 20:37

Thank you OP - its lovely to read a light hearted thread!

Sofrano · 15/03/2020 20:37

I may have been known to eat two, two-finger, KitKats in one sitting. That’s an accident.
I’d never sit down with a four-finger KitKat and think that’s the chocolate bar for me on purpose.
Would your husband like to be leader of the Labour Party?

LadyEloise · 15/03/2020 20:38

Yuk.
I buy them for the biscuit tin because i know I won't eat many of them.

Fralla · 15/03/2020 20:38

Kit Kat’s would always be my last choice.

Chipperfish · 15/03/2020 20:38

So with your DH on this
When I was 4 I got given a KitKat and they had forgotten to put the wafer bits in. It was so much better! I still remember it with hope every time I have nothing better for a treat than the boring wafery buggers.

SlayingDragons · 15/03/2020 20:39

Available in Asda @Pinkywoo in packs of 9. You can thank me later - they’ll get you through the pandemic!

(They also do lemon ones but they’re a bit rank.)

81Byerley · 15/03/2020 20:39

@AnneLovesGilbert Good luck if you try to avoid Nestle products. www.nestle.com/ask-nestle/our-company/answers/which-products-and-brands-do-you-own

Babybel90 · 15/03/2020 20:40

I don’t think I’ve ever purchased a kitkat, it’s the sort of thing someone’s mum might give you as a snack. I’d go for a mars bar or a double decker any day, I like my chocolate bars dense.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 15/03/2020 20:41

In my opinion kitkats are only just above chocolate digestives on the ladder of most boring snacks pretending to not be boring.

If I want a chocolate bar I'll have a snickers or a topic (if available).

Anyone who thinks that any of the variations of kitkat are an acceptable chocolate bar abvu.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/03/2020 20:42

My DDad had some of the Cookie&Cream ones (ugh) in the fridge !

There's no redemption for him is there ?

Gemma2019 · 15/03/2020 20:42

I thought there could be nothing more disgusting than a kitkat - then they invented kitkat chunky. Really grim Envy

probablysue · 15/03/2020 20:42

I’m with your DH. Two finger is fine but I’d never eat a 4 finger. It’s just wrong. I don’t know why, it just is.

probablysue · 15/03/2020 20:43

and the dark mint are lush. Lemon is a no.

TealWater · 15/03/2020 20:46

OP I don't understand what you're asking. If we think 4 fingered kitkats are wrong? That 2 fingers ok but 4 aren't? That 4 fingered kitkats taste ok but 2 fingered ones are wrong?

That they are fattening?

That they taste horrible?

Or is there some coded message about 2 fingers and 4 fingers?

I can't for the life of me figure out what you are asking, and what is the outrageous statement.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/03/2020 20:46

Chunky peanut butter kit Kat. Heaven in a wrapper

Merryoldgoat · 15/03/2020 20:48

FFS.

Now I want a fucking Kit-Kat.

VioletCharlotte · 15/03/2020 20:50

I quite like a KitKat, for some reason they feel like they're less fattening than other chocolate!

maddiemookins16mum · 15/03/2020 20:50

Oh and seriously, the last time I saw a 4 finger Kitkat was about 1988 in a machine on the wall at Coventry train station, it was nestled next to a Bar 7. Can you actually still get 4 fingered ones or is this thread just headline grabbing??

amusedbush · 15/03/2020 20:50

Kit Kats are definitely a biscuit, not a chocolate bar. If we’re going down the wafer route I’d rather have a Drifter.
