Absolutely outrageous statement from DH

Advert for Kitkat came on. He says he's not sure he's ever eaten a four finger Kitkat. Two finger yeah, perfect for a post lunch sweet treat, but faced with the choice of any chocolate bar, he definitely wouldn't go for a Kitkat.

I initially thought this was outrageous, but now I think he might have a point.

And I can't find the voting button...

Is he BU??

Kitkat sandwich, grill it = delicious

What??!!

Shock
WelshMoth · 16/03/2020 05:53

Fake chocolate. Bet it has zero cocoa. Tastes of sweet fat coated crispyness.

Bleeuurgh.

Don't get me started on Yorkie...

Branleuse · 16/03/2020 06:57

Thats all nestle chocolate @WelshMoth
Its an abomination. Even quality street would be better named quantity street

TheClitterati · 16/03/2020 08:32

I might have eaten a 2 finger KK but I very much doubt I've ever had a 4 finger one. Certainly no memory of that.

And I've boycotted Nestle since the 90's so I doubt I ever will.

No loss.

CircleofWillis · 16/03/2020 09:30

When I startled reading this thread It made me feel really down. All these people preferring two fingered kitkats- where are you even finding them? I buy 4 fingered ones from the local shops when I get the urge.
Then I realised! If almost everyone else hates KitKats or can only manage a two fingered one then the four fingered ones will be left on the shelves during all the panic buying.

BTW are you all sure you are eating them correctly? They are a challenge rather than a snack! You have to nibble off all the chocolate in clean pieces before you can attack the wafer, one finger at a time. Sheer bliss!!

leiaskye · 16/03/2020 09:50

Kit Kat’s are biscuits, not chocolate bars.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a four finger one either. Why waste the calories on a substandard biscuit.

A chunky kitkat on the other hand.... now that is the best chocolate bar.

tiggerkid · 16/03/2020 09:52

I'd buy a kitkat or twix if I wanted a biscuit or just anything sweet but if I specifically wanted chocolate, I probably wouldn't.

flirtygirl · 16/03/2020 10:01

Ive been boycotting nestle for years, it's not that hard especially if you shop at aldi or Lidl to avoid branded products.

flirtygirl · 16/03/2020 10:03

I would say I'm 95% successful but did eat some smarties in January.

Frenchw1fe · 16/03/2020 10:05

@lionheart and @Doggodogington you can have my twix's anytime. Can't stand all that chewy caramel and thick biscuit.

DiscontinuedModelHusband · 16/03/2020 11:23

i'm 100% on board with creme eggs as a "chocolate chaser".

although, i'm also happy for it to be a chaser for another creme egg.

Isthistrueor · 16/03/2020 11:34

The chunky is far better, I used to love the peanut butter one.

Flavabobble · 16/03/2020 12:28

Vending machine: yes
Multipack to eat at home: yes
From the shop: not in a million years

gingersausage · 16/03/2020 14:38

Why don’t the Nestlé boycotters bore off and virtue signal on another thread.

@maddiemookins16mum Bar Seven, there’s a blast from the past! They were amazing and far superior to any number of Kit Kat fingers.

Tunnocks34 · 16/03/2020 14:42

Only thing worse than a kitkat are revels and a bar of bournville

NeckPainChairSearch · 16/03/2020 14:53

Why don’t the Nestlé boycotters bore off and virtue signal on another thread

Oh well done you. And the old 'virtue signaling' is dusted off once more.

The thread was happily co-existing with a few people piping up about Nestle, but still rumbling on happily. A bit of lightheartedness in the CV19 stress. Then you wade in with your unpleasant, thread-policing name-calling.

There really is always one.

MacBlank · 16/03/2020 17:31

Nope, he isn't but you are!

KitKat is ok as a post lunch nibble, but he's right, it's not a proper bar of chocolate.

TBH, I've eaten plenty of 4 fingered KKs.

When you started of on 4 fingers I wondered where you were going‽ 😜

ButterscupsRevenge · 16/03/2020 17:34

What are his thoughts on a KitKat Chunky though, thats by far the superior of the kit kat club

Shewhomustbeobeyed1 · 16/03/2020 17:34

Hate anything with wafers. Waste of time. Now dark chocolate digestives...

Pascha · 16/03/2020 17:41

I like kitkats. My DH is a philistine, he eats them like a biscuit, chomping down on several fingers in one go Angry. The only acceptable way to eat them is to nibble the chocolate off

each end
Top
Side
Side
Each layer of wafer
Bottom wafer with chocolate coating.

Kitkat chunkys are an abomination.

Harls1969 · 16/03/2020 17:47

I've not eaten a 2 or 4 finger kit kat for years - I'd get a chunky one (preferably white chocolate). But they wouldn't be my first choice (Cadbury's all the way)

Sofrano · 16/03/2020 17:48

Hang on, did someone mention five finger Kit Kat’s? What kind of devilment is that?

LettyBriggs · 16/03/2020 17:53

Give the two fingers to your husband and you eat the 4 fingers I say.
I have been known to buy a 9 pack of 2 fingers and eat all of them in one sitting.

Weirdly, I don't love chunky kit kats. I mean I'd eat one if you put a gun to my head.

cherrybath · 16/03/2020 18:07

I don't like them much, but my DH thinks they are a real treat. I get him the two finger ones and give him one every now and again.

Wilkie1956mog · 16/03/2020 18:10

I like them. But they are more of a mid afternoon snack, a bit more filling, than an actual bar of chocolate like Galaxy or Dairy Milk which is an indulgent treat.
