Does your family fast forward sex scenes in films?

If you're sat with your family and a sex scene comes on during a film do you watch it or fast forward it? If you're all adults.

I'm at my boyfriend's house watching a movie and dying of embarrassment as they don't bother ff. We're all adults but it's a bit weird, isn't it? Maybe it's just not what I'm used to with my own family.

No we don't

ParkheadParadise · 21/02/2020 21:33

No

Tombakersscarf · 21/02/2020 21:33

??

breakingthebank · 21/02/2020 21:34

No, it's part of the film

TheThingWithFeathers · 21/02/2020 21:34

I think it's weirder to fast forward to be honest! Confused

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 21/02/2020 21:34

Are you 12 and sitting holding hands in his mam's best room or something?

chuck7 · 21/02/2020 21:35

As an adult I deffo would not expect any FF. Infact I’d find it MORE awkward if my in-laws felt the need to FF with me present rather than just getting it over with.

WendyImHome · 21/02/2020 21:35

Hahaha no. That’s hilarious

millerjane · 21/02/2020 21:36

I grew up in a family who are quite conervative and prudish.

angelaEhen · 21/02/2020 21:36

No never, but it always feels a bit awkward

APatchyTomCat · 21/02/2020 21:36

No, fast forwarding would be weirder. That would be like acknowledging the awkwardness.

Far better to just ride it out. (I wouldn't score it out of ten or anything)

MillStone · 21/02/2020 21:37

Well, that’s my weekend peaked.

grudieabbey · 21/02/2020 21:38

Ha ha ha ha ha. I’m laughing as it’s such an issue in my family. We don’t FF but my mother will go from being silent all film to suddenly talking about everything loudly and asking us all questions and getting up to make tea. The second it’s over she’s quiet.

I wish we would ff so I don’t need to see sex but hear ‘Carol has another UTI...’

Cat1nthehat · 21/02/2020 21:38

It’s weird to ff. I’m sure they aren’t hard core porn or anything!

SidsWife · 21/02/2020 21:38

No because we don’t have weird hang ups about sex.

TypingError · 21/02/2020 21:39

I understand this op. I'd FF if I didn't find that more embarrassing than actually watching it. I markedly start a conversation and anyone who wants to can join in.

whiplashy · 21/02/2020 21:40

We don’t fast fwd but I find watching sex scenes with my parents excruciating for some reason. it’d be weirder to fast fwd it though

GlomOfNit · 21/02/2020 21:40

Um ... no? Like you just said, you're all adults.

I mean, I can see my PIL ff-ing but then they would never, ever, in a million years, be watching a film with a sex scene in it, far less watching anything that isn't the news with us, so ...

TypingError · 21/02/2020 21:41

38grudieabbey

I must be your mum

TalaxuArmiuna · 21/02/2020 21:41

if all present are adults then of course not - that would be weird. grownups can cope with depictions of sexual activity which are intrinsic to the story being told.

Cyberlibre · 21/02/2020 21:44

We don't fast forward! It is part of the film. I don't make eye contact with my parents when it is on though Haha

MincedOath · 21/02/2020 21:44

I ff it when I'm on my own - does that count? Just really not interested in watching people have sex. If watching with family I just hope it's over quickly.

millerjane · 21/02/2020 21:46

Another thing I can blame on my upbringing. I genuinely thought it was the norm to fwd!

The film is just extremely graphic (80s movie)

My family is very loving but I'll accept weird on this issue.

OP posts:
hammeringinmyhead · 21/02/2020 21:46

No, you complete weirdo. Grin Surely it draws more attention if someone starts fumbling with the remote!?

millerjane · 21/02/2020 21:47

It just felt like I was watching a porno with my bf's parents and siblings.
