Ok. Just got lip fillers. Yesterday. Are they as bad as I think they are. To me they look deformed! Covered bruises with lipstick....

Firstly they are sti swollen , wait unt they've settled. If you think they're unbalanced go back and they will top up where required

Totally agree. Plus we all know that men are experts on looking good and taking care of themselves. You’d be hard pressed to see a man whilst out and about that looked unattractive 🤣

How long do the fillers last for? And what exactly is it that is injected in? I'm intrigued as my top lip appears to be vanishing.

Oooh and while I am asking (sorry OP, hope you don't mind, your lips will look lovely when the bruising goes down ) what is it that people have injected into the 11s above the nose. It's the only wrinkle I have but it's like the bloody Grand Canyon on one side. Very odd! I don't know whether to have it filled or use it for storage!

@SirChing that could be me, mine is huge!! Just the one and it is like the fecking Grand Canyon too.. have toyed with the idea of getting Botox or having it filled but too scared to take the plunge ( plus I’m too tight to splurge money on that) also think it’s too late for it to be effective 🤷‍♀️

Most fillers use hyaluronic acid which is a molecule that attracts water and is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Fillers can last anywhere from 6-9 months to two years depending on the type of filler (eg cheek fillers are typically thicker than tear trough) and how your body breaks it down. It dissolves naturally over time.

I don’t sorry! I live south. Also, I’d personally never get the elevens filled. There have been rare complications of it migrating down causing blindness. This is rare but I’d only ever get fillers below the eyes. Much safer

I'm not a lip filler fan but bruising aside, yours look quite good OP.

As for Kylie Jenner, she looks at least 10 years older than she is (why on earth would you want that?) but she did have awful thin lips before so I do think they look better these days.

It’s swelling and bruising and will be completely gone in a few days. Next time ask the Dr or nurse for a plastic glove filled with ice and hold that on your lips for 20 minutes straight after the procedure, then you’ll only get very minimal swelling.
I’m 51 and get lip fillers every 2 years not because I want great big fake lips but because I want a ‘normal’ upper lip. Due to ageing I literally have no upper lip.

This might be a stupid question but when people have their lips done, is it impossible to close their mouth properly afterwards? Most photos show them with a hole in the middle? I have normal lips but to make that same thing happen I've got to really use a lot of muscles it's so unnatural!

I personally don't think they look horrendous. Unfortunarely the top lip does look a bit duck lips-y (they're full but flat iykwim). Bottom lip looks natural imo

Mine looked dreadful after I had them done, 6 months later they are totally back to normal no sign of filler waste of time.

OP I've had lip fillers several times, they look fine to me, albeit still a little swollen ! Definitely bruised. Give it a week to calm down & see how they settle.
