Ok. Just got lip fillers. Yesterday. Are they as bad as I think they are. To me they look deformed! Covered bruises with lipstick....

Contrary to what some of you are saying, lip fillers are ALWAYS obvious.

Lippy1234 · 15/02/2020 18:46

So what if getting a bit of work is obvious I think it’s a better look than a really thin upper lip and looking sad because of jowls.

Bleubell · 15/02/2020 18:49

I had horrendous swelling with mine and they looked so uneven! After about a week they had settled down a lot and aren't uneven at all. They will settle down. If after swelling has gone down you're not happy contact the practitioner they should be happy to fix.

PP's saying fillers are always obvious, badly done or overly done fillers do look obvious but properly done they can look great.

Bleubell · 15/02/2020 18:50

@Lippy1234 agreed! I had pretty much no top lip, made my face look out of proportion.

Lippy1234 · 15/02/2020 18:51

Bleubell That was the same for me.

LightDrizzle · 15/02/2020 18:55

IveGotBills you just look like you are pouting, not like you’ve got fillers. It doesn’t look like a face you’d have relaxed and unselfconscious.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 15/02/2020 19:06

Light

You are right, just testing Grin

omgitcantbetrue · 15/02/2020 19:08

Ivegotbills. I would say No, looks great. Are they real? Your bottom
Lip is quite plump😄

MidsomerBurgers. What do you think about ivegotbills lips?

I want to see more lips now.
The bruise on my lip has spread and is really rather large. I know it will go down.

I feel sorry for your daughters. You should be modelling good self esteem for them to follow, not shocking them with fake lips when you pick them up from school.

Do better.

damnthatanxiety · 15/02/2020 20:36

Igotthemheavyboobs Of course there is a change to the lips but what I mean is that lip fillers are not always obviously lip fillers. WHen they are done well, you would not spot someone and think ...hmmmm lip fillers. Of course if you know someone very well, you may notice their lips are bigger because you will notice a change but that does not mean that lip fillers are obviously lip fillers. Here are a couple of examples of lip fillers which have been done well. Balance the face. Don't look like the person has done anything artificial. Yes, their partner or friends may notice bigger lips but not only because the lips are bigger, not because they have a lip filler look.

MidsomerBurgers see my post above. I think you are wrong. I would not think either of these two people had had their lips done.

damnthatanxiety · 15/02/2020 20:41

Or these two people. The filled lips look extremely natural and are a subtle improvement to their very thin lips.

I don't understand the argument about fillers having to look natural. I wear make up everyday and although I don't trowel it on, it still looks 'artificial' as does bright, copper hair. Why if I got lip filler done would it only be acceptable if it looks 'natural'?

rainpain · 15/02/2020 20:50

Those images don't show a side profile though but you can see it a bit in the third pic it's the protruding bit/turning up that I think looks off.

Amfeelingfline · 15/02/2020 21:10

@SirChing some of my mates put their purses, phones, etc in their bras, I just use my forehead ridge 😂😂😂
OP, sorry to derail, to be honest I don’t think they look bad, I’m sure it’s quite normal to have your reaction, especially as you’ve had it just done...

Russellbrandshair · 15/02/2020 21:15

This is a good point! I see lots of people with dyed hair that’s obviously not natural, they aren’t all cowering in shame about it

Sarbr3 · 15/02/2020 21:23

I've had lip fillers, only 0.5ml and no one has really noticed which is what i wanted. The swelling and bruising goes down after a week tops don't worry! How much did you have?

rainpain · 15/02/2020 21:24

Tbf it's normally people who have them who are arguing that they do look natural.

Russellbrandshair · 15/02/2020 21:26

As a response to the cries of “I can ALWAYS tell!”
As if they enjoy outing people and shaming them for their choices

YasssKween · 15/02/2020 21:33

I haven't had fillers but I think it's funny people say they can always tell when surely if someone hasn't had them and they've never discussed it... they may well have had it done? You can't know if you don't know...

rainpain · 15/02/2020 21:36

Well I don't think that they often do look natural particularly in motion as I said upthread & on lots of people it is obvious, think Towie, Geordie shore etc. Not looking natural doesn't necessarily equal looking bad though.

If you want them & like them, get them, your lips your choice.

lolalovesroses · 15/02/2020 21:37

A lady at work gets them done (she thinks very subtly) and that nobody knows. You can tell when she talks her lips move differently and from side on it's obvious. To everyone who gets it done, take a quick video of your lips talking with a side on view before the treatment and afterwards and you'll see what I mean.

Grumpos · 15/02/2020 21:40

My friend had them a while ago and I was horrified, they were lumpy, lopsided and I thought they looked awful....however I have to grudgingly admit after the initial bruising and swelling went down they do look very nice, natural and suit her face.
They will go down don’t worry, but you need to give it a while, like 2 weeks realistically.

I don't get this point. If you have lip fillers why be ashamed of it? I'm probably going to try botox at some point in my future. I'm not going to lie about it. If it's obvious I have botox because I'm 50 without a wrinkle & a stranger asks me if I have it how am I being outed?
