Ok. Just got lip fillers. Yesterday. Are they as bad as I think they are. To me they look deformed! Covered bruises with lipstick....

damnthatanxiety

I don't see how you can not tell when someone you know has lip fillers, regardless of how well they are done. Surely they suddenly look bigger/fuller.

If you can't tell, what's the point?

Teenangels · 15/02/2020 12:42

They are swollen, really swollen I could hardly move my lips the day after by day 3 you should start to see improvement, a week is how they will be, I love mine they give me a much more youthful appearance. Give it time

BirdieFriendBadge · 15/02/2020 12:42

They just look the same as everyone else who has fillers IMO.

Such a weird trend.

omgitcantbetrue · 15/02/2020 12:43

L1appel That’s a really interesting comparison. Honestly, I didn’t have tiny lips to start with, and hadn’t been agonising over my appearance. I was kind of curious, like, I wonder how that will look....

No initial consultation. I’ll tell you the REALLY terrifying thing. After the lips were doin, my eyes almost immediately were drawn to the lines round my mouth, which again, I’d barely given thought to before.
I can really see how this is a “ monster” one thing leads to another, till you become a ball of puffy plastic...

Shock the second photo is horrific! That's like something from Botched. Why do people do this? Its self mutilation.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 15/02/2020 12:47

Please god tell me you had these done by someone who is a qualified health professional
If you develop a vein occlusion the tissue can become necrotic pretty quickly and only a nurse or doctor can treat

Russellbrandshair · 15/02/2020 12:47

but I don't mind if people don't like them. I've spent most of my life being insulted for being different so you get used to it

I find it curious that the people saying we are all being pressured into looking a certain way then say that look is “hideous” or “duck lips” don’t see the irony in their words. They’re basically saying that only THEIR view of beauty or attractiveness is acceptable and that everyone should adhere to what they view as acceptable. Well maybe I don’t. Maybe I don’t see their ideal as beautiful - what then? It’s hardly shocking that we all have different opinions of beauty and beauty is subjective. I don’t care what others find acceptable or beautiful. I choose my appearance based on what I like and no one else’s opinion. I like lip fillers, therefore I will continue.

Chardonnay73 · 15/02/2020 12:47

Ice Ice Ice baby!! Wrap in a towel and ice gently for 5 mins every hour for the first couple of days. Ibuprofen too really helps.
They will go down honestly. And you will love them 😉

omgitcantbetrue · 15/02/2020 12:50

Taking a lunch break. Let’s see if I can use them to eat....

IMO thats a perfect reason to have lip fillers though. Or tattoos, or piercings, or dyed hair, or whatever you like really but unfortunately the sad fact is, that’s not why the majority of women do things like this.

DailyKegelReminder · 15/02/2020 12:51

They dont look awful, a lot of it should be swelling. See in a week or 2 before you start to panic 🙂

PeggySuehadababy · 15/02/2020 12:51

I think they actually look good, considering you have just had them done. Especially the lower lip is not too big and the upper one will look smaller once they are less swollen.

Miajk · 15/02/2020 12:52

OP, I've had lip fillers done before (been a while though so dissolved now but would definitely get them done again)

First 2-3 days is swelling. Once it goes down you'll think they're not different at all!

All the posters who are staying lip fillers are obvious must be forgetting it's 0.5 ml-1ml. You would have to be topping them up for it to be a noticeable difference as 1 ml is nothing.

I remember being in conversations with men around lip fillers and they would say "why do girls do that, it's awful". I said some girls feel better with them and that's all that matters, and one guy turned around to me and said "yeah but your lips are perfect, like the perfect size and shape, so I don't get why you'd get fillers and ruin that". Their faces when I told them my lips are not natural were priceless!

Fillers are fine. Same rule as for all other things: don't overdo it. Plenty of women get all sort of fillers, Botox, etc. Many seem to overdo it these days though.

grandemac · 15/02/2020 12:52

Just look at kylie Jenner, a massive improvement.

Kylies lips & fillers look dreadful!

FoamingAtTheUterus · 15/02/2020 12:54

Oh dear. 😳

Russellbrandshair · 15/02/2020 12:56

I agree. Lol I’ve had similar comments about my “perfect lips” and why “You don’t need filler as Youre lucky to have amazing lips”. It’s filler. So this idea that everyone can tell is simply not true.

Tombliwho · 15/02/2020 12:56

Kylie isn't a massive improvement at all. She has aged herself about 15 years with all the messing to her face. She look the same age as Kim. So sad women are encouraging other women to mutilate their faces.

grandemac · 15/02/2020 12:57

Why do people take a lack of comments as proof their work looks natural? I wouldn't ask @Iooselipssinkships if she had filler!

SinglePringle · 15/02/2020 12:57

My friend has .5 injected by a Harley St cosmetic surgeon. You could see it. It was done well and there was no issue with her vermillion line or swelling. But you could still see they’d been done.

Russellbrandshair · 15/02/2020 12:58

Why do people take a lack of comments as proof their work looks natural

I wouldn’t either. I’m referring to people who have told me they envy my lips and have been shocked when they’ve found out it’s filler.

ForestYeti · 15/02/2020 13:00

It’s only one day after it’s usual for them to be swollen and bruised, they’ll settle down after a few days

Montsti · 15/02/2020 13:02

I actually don’t think they look bad at all (the bruising will go down) but it completely depends what they looked like before...if you had really thin lips then obviously everyone will notice.

I really really don’t understand why people have this procedure done...it’s a bit like the big hd brows...they look so fake and everyone ends up looking the same...

grandemac · 15/02/2020 13:03

How come celebs with their money and connections can't manage natural @Russellbrandshair?

Plus judging by comments on my appearance a lot of people need to go to Specsavers!

borntobequiet · 15/02/2020 13:03

1 ml is equal to one cubic centimetre. That’s not nothing. I wouldn’t want one cubic centimetre of anything injected into my lips. No wonder it’s painful.
