To have one bra?

So this has never occurred to me as strange, but it has just been pointed out to me that I might not have this right!

I have one bra which fits. I wear it a couple of days, wash while I'm in the house and don't need to wearing it, and then it goes straight back on again. Is that unreasonable? I have gym bralette type things but day to day, the one bra has never failed me....

Who are these adult women that have drawers full of different shapes/sizes of bras that they all wear regularly? My weight fluctuates so I would be spending a fortune if I splashed out on a new bra wardrobe every time I needed one!

At £100 a shot two is plenty thank you. Grin

I'm breastfeeding so have 2 maternity bras. Shower and change every night.
Hand wash them in the bathroom sink and hang on a hanger to dry over night. ( This is how the lady at the bra shop told me to wash them)

Oblomov20 · 01/02/2020 14:48

I have a black bravissimo bra that I wear almost every day, with every outfit/dress.

When you actually really think about people really only need one black and one either nude or white?

It's choice. To have other colours. Choice. Not need.

NemophilistRebel · 01/02/2020 14:49

I’m pregnant at the moment and only have one that fits

I keep meaning to get more but in 6 months I haven’t managed to yet

I wear it for a day or two then wash it and the day it’s being washed I just wear a stretchy crop top type thing

Mulledwineinajug · 01/02/2020 14:52

I have one bra! How is it yuck if you wash it?!
It’s bright pink.

When I was breastfeeding I had more though. I needed more frequent changes due to leakage and baby drool.

happyhappyme · 01/02/2020 14:53

You couldn’t wear a white bra with a black top

Why?

I have two, one black and one beige. I only ever wear dark colours as white and cream makes my pale skin look awful and they are fine with whatever colour i wear.

Mulledwineinajug · 01/02/2020 14:54

This sounds like an awful lot of hassle when you could just buy a couple more to alternate.
What about when you need a black/nude/strapless one

I don’t really have outfits that require different bras!
They’re expensive! I have other things I’d rather buy!!

Mulledwineinajug · 01/02/2020 14:54

You couldn’t wear a white bra with a black top

Why not, if the top isn’t see through?

AnnaMariaDreams · 01/02/2020 14:56

I don’t have that many but I have more than one!
Sports bra
Strapless bra
Black x1 (going out)
Nude x3 (everyday)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/02/2020 14:57

The fact that you only have one pair isn’t really a problem. It’s the fact that you only wash every couple of days. Therefore you must be taking them off to shower and putting them back on. I mean you wouldn’t put dirty knickers back on after showering would you, well I hope not

FlorencesHunger · 01/02/2020 15:00

Yanbu. For me I have 3 bras but mostly wear only one of them, I keep it to a minimum as when I buy bras it is sods law that my boob size will change. I have lots of nearly new bras stashed away for this reason just incase I go down in size again.

JRUIN · 01/02/2020 15:00

I have more than 20 bras cluttering up my drawers, but tend to stick to wearing the same 2 or 3. I think it's admirable that you manage with one to be honest.

MaroonPencil · 01/02/2020 15:02

Personally I couldn't be not wearing a bra, even at home, I'm quite a large lady and it would be very uncomfortable. So if I only had one I would need to wash and dry it over night. I have four or five. They are all the same though except some are black and some are white. Oh, and a sports bra. I ought to have two sports bras really.

steff13 · 01/02/2020 15:05

I have six of the same style - 3 nude, 3 black. Two racer-back style. One with convertible straps. Two sports bras. So, eleven total, I guess v

purpleclaire · 01/02/2020 15:08

I have 12, a mixture of white, black and nude, plus a couple are strapless ones to wear with certain outfits.

damnthatanxiety · 01/02/2020 15:11

I go to the gym most days in the morning and wear a sports bra. This goes in the wash after one wash so I have several (4-5). I shower and put on a clean bra. This bra is worn for 3/4 of a day and not when sweating so I wear it 2-3 times. I have about 20 to account for what sort of bra I want (plunge/push up/ minimise etc) and what I am wearing (black, nude, pretty colour). I have zero idea how life works with one bra. I guess you just wear it and get on with life without thinking about it.

JigsawsAreInPieces · 01/02/2020 15:20

Having just sorted my chest of drawers out, I have 4 basic bras, 1 multiway, 1 strapless, 2 sports and 6 bralets.

Plus 4 brand new with tags in a size smaller than me (no idea why or when I bought those!) which are going on eBay tomorrow.

MerryDeath · 01/02/2020 15:41

i have two that i actually like to wear (same bra, x2) and that's only because these days i have the money to buy 2. in my younger years i have definitely had 1 bra in (very near) 365 day use

Starlink · 01/02/2020 15:42

I have 25 bra and pant sets

Neednewwellies · 01/02/2020 15:45

I’ve just counted and I have 17 plus 2 sports bras (1blk, 1wh)

But I couldn’t spend the evening at home without a bra as I’d feel very uncomfortable.

Neednewwellies · 01/02/2020 15:46

10 are from matching sets and the others and generic black/white

Bananacake20 · 01/02/2020 15:47

I usually have 2 bras. I tend to buy a 2 pack every 6 months or so until they wear out then I'll just buy another 2 pack. I do a wash every day and wear each bra for 2 days before washing it so only having 2 has never bothered me. I bought some new maternity bras the other day though that came in a pack of three and now I feel like I have loads haha! I think only having one would annoy me but I've never needed more than two at a time so Smile

sanityisamyth · 01/02/2020 16:00

I have 2 bras as they're too expensive to have lots. I wear them for a couple of days and then put them in the wash so they're dry by the time the other one is in the wash. Seems to work well.

squeekums · 01/02/2020 16:12

1
as in one single bra?

wow
i have no less than 15

CinderEmma · 01/02/2020 16:14

I have loads of bras and literally wear the same three in rotation. I have a favourite though and would just wear that all the time if I could.
