To have one bra?

MumApr18 · 01/02/2020 13:25

So this has never occurred to me as strange, but it has just been pointed out to me that I might not have this right!

I have one bra which fits. I wear it a couple of days, wash while I'm in the house and don't need to wearing it, and then it goes straight back on again. Is that unreasonable? I have gym bralette type things but day to day, the one bra has never failed me....

Who are these adult women that have drawers full of different shapes/sizes of bras that they all wear regularly? My weight fluctuates so I would be spending a fortune if I splashed out on a new bra wardrobe every time I needed one!

One black lace, one black smooth (wear nearly every day), one nude smooth, one nude strapless, two sports bras - so 6 in total.

adaline · 01/02/2020 14:00

That is a bit odd.

I have about seven, different colours/styles.

Pipandmum · 01/02/2020 14:01

I have a couple in black a couple in nude. I don't do a wash every day so need the spares.
If you've found a brand you like get a fee of them because you never know when they'll discontinue it!

CoatTails · 01/02/2020 14:01

2 nude, 1 black, 1 spotty, 1 hot pink, 1 bright blue, 2 sports bras.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 01/02/2020 14:02

I have quite a few, but that is because there always some of them are happily waiting for their turn to have a wash with their own’s colour. Smile

user1493494961 · 01/02/2020 14:03

I've only got two, if I wanted more I would buy them.

copperoliver · 01/02/2020 14:08

I have 7. One for each day x

Eeeeek2 · 01/02/2020 14:09

I have 5 but they're the same bra in different colours. Nothing else is as comfortable. One bra is a little strange I would think 2 is a minimum.

Oysterbabe · 01/02/2020 14:12

That's odd. I have about 5 that fit well and I wear regularly, which I didn't think was many.

stickerqueen · 01/02/2020 14:13

I got loads of bras but only wear 2 of them. I've wasted so much money buying bras I don't wear some still have the tags on.

For the people saying yuk, op says she washes her bra every couple of days

Purplelion · 01/02/2020 14:21

But how do you match it to your underwear? And your outfits?

maddiemookins16mum · 01/02/2020 14:22

I have three. I wear one for two days then get a clean one. Works fine for me...shower every morning and a clean top every day.

raffle · 01/02/2020 14:23

How long does it take to wash and dry your bra? 3 hours? What if you need to go out? Do you go braless? I couldn’t do that with my big floppy pair!

meandmylot · 01/02/2020 14:23

I think I have about 12 sets, usually have two matching knickers per bra in case I want to wear the bra two days before washing. Also have a few bralet types. I'm not sure why you wouldn't buy even just one more.

LaLaLanded · 01/02/2020 14:26

One seems very organised! And consistent in terms of the type of clothes you wear?

I have 4 t-shirt bras, 2 black and 2 nude
2 regularly worn bralets
An unknown number of fancier bras that languish sadly in the back of my underwear drawer, wondering what they’ve done wrong.

LlamaofDrama · 01/02/2020 14:32

I have 3 plus a sports bra. One on, one currently on the line and one in the drawer. At FF I wear one all day every day, and there's no way I'm putting them in the washing machine so they take longer to dry as not spun. I'm a tricky size so I can't buy cheap bras, I have to make them last!

unlikelytobe · 01/02/2020 14:33

I would have thought it was a good idea to have more than one bra. At least have a spare in case ... of something, I'm not sure what! I have a few but usually wear the one I like best which is the most comfortable and goes under most clothes. My other bras are neglected and jealous of 'star bra' but get the occasional wear.

Ouchaheadinmybehind · 01/02/2020 14:34

9
2 Black, 2 white, 1 nude, 2 coloured ones and 2 t shirt bras, for when I don’t want my cold nipples showing through a nice top, in white & black.

CakeandCustard28 · 01/02/2020 14:35

I have two, but only because I haven’t had time to go and get remeasured for new ones. (Lost tons of weight). I couldn’t live with one bra. 🤣

hammeringinmyhead · 01/02/2020 14:38

That's a bit grim in summer. I have daily underboob sweat so change each day from May-August. This means I need about 3.

ouch321 · 01/02/2020 14:42

Wow

Do you have the one only rule for other clothes items as well?

If I only had one I think it would need to be a nude coloured t-shirt bra.

That goes under everything safely.

I have 3 x nude, 5 x white, 1 x black with corresponding coloured knickers of course, and then about 25 sets of pretty matching underwear sets.

Oblomov20 · 01/02/2020 14:43

I wear the same one. I have others, exactly the same, but like old jeans, this is the comfiest. I o ok not wear another one in desperation!

I don't think it's that unusual OP.

FizzyPink · 01/02/2020 14:43

This sounds like an awful lot of hassle when you could just buy a couple more to alternate.
What about when you need a black/nude/strapless one?
