Strange post received

I have received 8 tickets from ticket master through the post this morning, total £315
No one in my house has any recollection of ordering them and stranger still they are addressed to my 10 year old DS, the address is correct except for one digit of the postcode. Have checked my bank and credit cards etc no payment has been made either, so would you contact ticket master? Keep them? Sell them??

I know that when DS's tickets didn't show up and had to be re-issued. He had to pick them up from the venue and take his passport for ID.

Bizarre

Bazbear · 20/01/2020 11:17

I would definitely be suspicious, how on earth would it have your sons name! Auto fill forms don't work like that, mine only auto fill on my computer or if I am logged in to my google account or page account. There is something odd definitely going on here.

By the way there is a scam going round at the moment where something expensive and unexpected (like phones) gets delivered to your house, then the delivery driver or someone else pops in and says there’s been a misdelivered item can I have it back, and then afterwards you find out you’d been charged but the payment was still pending... or something like that.

Can’t remember the exact detail but make sure no-one picks up the tickets.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 20/01/2020 12:58

@Skysblue that scam has been going on for years. A school mum friend of ours had it happen to her nigh on ten years ago.

enjoyingscience · 20/01/2020 13:16

Delivery scams are common, but often the delivery address isn’t the person being scammed. So person A has their address used, person B (unrelated) has their card scammed. Scammer pops round to person A to explain delivery mix up, takes goods, and can’t be traced to that address.

I’ve been person A in that scenario twice. It sucks!
