The name Nausea

Indulge me... DH and I have enjoyed ourselves today thinking of random words that could be names A bit like when Uncle Fester said Dementia was a beautiful name. DH thinks Nausea could be lovely.

I always think that Syria would make a lively girls name!

My sister once said "don't you think Chlamydia would be a nice name, if it wasn't, well, you know..."
I've never forgotten it as one of my friends agreed with her!

I threatened to call DD Rioja.

Candida, as in thrush. It is actually a name.

I love the name Waverley although it doesn't have officially bad connotations.

When my 7yo heard the word Vagina she thought it was a lovely babe and waved to call the unicorn in the story she was writing at school 'Vagina'. I said best not as male teacher may be a bit embarrassed.

I read somewhere years ago that a microbiologist had named his DD Escherichia (fortunately a middle name, chosen because of his field of expertise)

Yes! I'm sure there was a Candida on Come Dine With Me or Coach Trip once. I hadn't realised it was an actual name until then!

A medic friend of mine at university used to joke that he would one day have daughters called Hernia and Gonorrhea. He thought they sounded rather Shakespearean.

Candida has a brother and sister- Syphilis and Gonorrhoea...

A friend of my mum called her son Beaujolais. This was in the late 80s. My mum couldn’t hide her shock and asked if the poor soul had a middle name he could use. He did, it was Robert. Which made his initials BRA.
I often wonder if he kept his name. Beau could be quite nice I guess.

Melaena. I know one, just spelled slightly differently.

Was at school with several Candidas so it was a name before it was a causal organism in my mind.
