Indulge me... DH and I have enjoyed ourselves today thinking of random words that could be names Grin A bit like when Uncle Fester said Dementia was a beautiful name. DH thinks Nausea could be lovely.

My MIL had a friend called Asma who was of Indian origin and it was pronounced exactly the same as the Respiratory condition asthma!

I bet some English names sound utterly hilarious to Arabic speakers....

A friend has a name that translates as ‘pee shit’ in Farsi (possibly ‘shit pee’).

Benilyn.....but i can't decide whether boy or girl. It could be gender neutral, like Lesley /Sandy/Billie etc

Heliobacter Pylori is one of my favourites. I think it sounds well classy for a boy or girl. A lovely bacterial infection causing stomach ulcers.

I thought about calling my first born Kofta, after the night we think they were conceived.

When I was a child we had a cleaner called Jenti, short for Jennitaylia. Her mother overheard it in conversation and thought it would make a lovely name apparently (english wasn't her first language). Mum was convinced she was having us on!

Breathmiller

Thank you, it's nice to be appreciated.

I suppose Ute and Ute could have a child called Durex, in the Aussie sense.

Lovely to see all the old urban myths being given another outing.

I used to know a family on the south coast of England with the surname Pine-Coffin. Fortunately they didn't call any of their sons Edward.

Can't find who mentioned it but Flora is a Scottish name , maybe seen as a bit old fashioned now but I saw a young Flora the other day. Its not seen as an out there name. More a traditonal name

Flora is a beautiful name, it was on my shortlist for DC2 but DH vetoed it. He wanted Alexa.

Luckily we found a name that we both liked, that was neither the name of a non-dairy spread or a virtual assistant Grin

Nothing wrong with Alexa btw - it was just his insistence that 'saddling' a child with a name associated with a product would be awful and his name choice was far superior to mine was very irritating. And then Amazon came along and shut him up Grin

I was pregnant when there was a TV character called Chardonnay

Chardonnay was a really popular name when Footballers Wives was big - with 3 different spellings in the top 100 girls names IIRC - meaning loads of little girls walking around called Chardonnay but spelled wrong Sad

Laylandii would be my first choice of quirky plant names.
Isn't there a Corriander off of on the Archer's, Linda Snell's step daughter maybe?
