Prince George’s outfit

There’s a new royal portrait featuring the queen & her direct heirs. I know they seem to prefer traditional (to the point of twee) clothes for George, but AIBU to find his outfit odd? The shirt & trousers jar for me

"Let's face it neither Charles nor William stand for anything."

Charles was never allowed to be his own person. When he was, from back in the late 70's, when the food industry was getting out of control, he was ridiculed in the press for expressing environmental concerns.

Dapplegrey No I certainly don't think that way....the royal family are obviously an exception, a family that is taxpayer funded, of course they should expect criticism. People should be able to give their opinion freely, if others don't agree fine, but let people have their say. Why shouldn't they, they certainly give us plenty of ammunition. Or do you think it's only ok to praise them?

Hear hear.

Crested no I don’t think it’s only ok to praise them but I think quite a lot of criticism is gratuitously spiteful.
Do you think it’s fine to be extremely spiteful to anyone - not just the royal family - who is paid by the tax payer simply because they are state funded?

Dapplegrey No I don’t think it’s fine to be spiteful to people. But I’m not talking about those sort of posts. I’m talking about just general royal gossip. People getting on their high horse over other people’s opinions. I don’t get why it bothers them so much.

Sorry had a name change there.

I thought the photo was lovely and it was the 1st time I had seen Prince George in long trousers. The Queen always has her hand bag with her even when she is at home. There was a pic recently of Boris meeting her and she was carrying it then too.
