So basically my standpoint is employers essentially pay you before Xmas.

My delightful Sc says this isn't the case, needs money urgently for presents. They do a normal 9-5 job as an apprenticeship.

Would anyone be willing to share if they got paid now please?

Nope, and I'd rather not be paid early (if that's what you're suggesting). Makes Jan v hard.

Horsemad · 23/12/2019 20:16

Not all companies pay their Dec wages early.

MuchBetterNow · 23/12/2019 20:16

Depends on the employer and your regular payday. I don't get paid till 27th as usual.

misspiggy19 · 23/12/2019 20:17

I get paid end of the month as usual

Dee03 · 23/12/2019 20:17

Nope I get paid like usual on the 31st

Yarboosucks · 23/12/2019 20:17

Normally get paid on 24th, was paid on 19th this month.

CactusAndCacti · 23/12/2019 20:17

Not quite sure what you mean, but my pay date is the 15th, when I worked LA we got paid a week early (21st) but then you had longer to next pay day

MidnightCircus · 23/12/2019 20:18

I get paid end of the month as usual.

Angie6868 · 23/12/2019 20:18

I get paid on 31st December

ShirleyPhallus · 23/12/2019 20:18

My employer and all that I’ve had before have always paid December pay early

My old employer also paid Christmas bonuses early so that was a delight. Then they moved to January and then they moved again to march. The Christmas one was lovely.

WisestIsShe · 23/12/2019 20:18

DH gets paid a week early in December.

KingscoteStaff · 23/12/2019 20:18

Paid on 20th, but desperately trying not to touch it as otherwise January is VERY long!

commoncoot · 23/12/2019 20:19

Last working day here

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/12/2019 20:19

We both got paid today. It’s usually the last Friday before Christmas.

No one needs money “urgently for presents”. How much are they asking you for?

MsAwesomeDragon · 23/12/2019 20:19

I get paid early in December. My brother and sister don't. It's the companies choice whether they pay early or not.

NoncePieforSanta · 23/12/2019 20:19

I have only ever had one job that paid early at Christmas.

ShowOfHands · 23/12/2019 20:19

I got paid today as usual but DH will be paid on the 28th (actually 27th due to the weekend) as per his normal schedule.

SerenDippitty · 23/12/2019 20:20

Depends on employer. My last employer paid end of the month as usual. You could get an advance of salary if you applied for it.

Obligatorync · 23/12/2019 20:20

End of the month here, was 20th for DH.

ivykaty44 · 23/12/2019 20:20

Paid as normal on last day of the month - so a week tomorrow and I’ll get paid

isabellerossignol · 23/12/2019 20:20

It depends. My contract states that my salary is to be in my account on 27th each month. For that to be the case, I had to be paid before Christmas. My husband's contract states three working days before the last day of the month, so again he has to be paid before Christmas.

But I've worked in other places where it is the last day of the month. Since that's not a bank holiday, the pay didn't come early.

Zofloramummy · 23/12/2019 20:20

It entirely depends on your employer,l and whether you normal pay date lands in the bank holidays. It’s entirely possible that they aren’t being paid until their normal pay date.

TheresWaldo · 23/12/2019 20:21

I get paid last working day of the month - so 31st December.

Justcallmebebes · 23/12/2019 20:22

Normal pay day 28th. Xmas eve at Xmas

lljkk · 23/12/2019 20:24

Both my employers (public sector) pay about 10 days early in December, so already paid for December.
