VG/Prince Andrew - to say I wasn’t sure before but I believe her

churchandstate · 03/12/2019 07:05

I posted in a thread after the Prince Andrew interview, and although I didn’t believe him about everything he said, I wasn’t wholly convinced at that time that he was lying about sleeping with young girls, about seeing things in Epstein’s houses that should have repelled him, about having sex with Virginia Roberts in particular. I just didn’t think there was certainty to be had.

I am convinced now. I believed every word she was allowed to say last night and I am only sad they didn’t give her more air time. Prince Andrew has very serious questions to answer.

This is the clip where he lives in a Huff at the mention of his penis

MinervaSaidThat · 09/12/2019 10:57

That’s the one, sorry for my typos!

BlackCatSleeping · 09/12/2019 11:29

The Daily Mail are claiming today that GM will give a TV interview from the US to support Prince Andrew. I’m very interested in seeing if it’s true or not.

NigellaAwesome · 09/12/2019 15:07

The one thing that grated a bit with VR's interview was the line about wanting the British people to stand behind her and her allegations.

I think culturally she hasn't grasped that the majority of people don't really give a flying fuck about the royal family, other than perhaps the Queen. I can't quite put my finger on it, but that sentence jarred with me.

MinervaSaidThat · 09/12/2019 17:41

Given the fact that the American police/prosecution fucker up or were paid off to on my give JE a rap in his knuckles (in that he was only convicted for solicitation of a prostitution) , fo you really blame VG asking people in Britain to back her? She has lost faith in American justice, rightly so.

MinervaSaidThat · 09/12/2019 17:43

Omg so many typos, tempted to repost

stairway · 09/12/2019 17:58

It looks like Alan Dershowitz is counter suing VG for defamation. Who wins the legal battle will have implications for Prince Andrew.

TatianaLarina · 09/12/2019 18:45

VG is not the only woman who says JE directed them to have sex with Dershowitz, another one says she was too.

Dershowitz, probably feels he is unbeatable in court. That’s where he is supreme. In defending JE, AD dug dirt on all the women who accused him - he got his team to trawl social media, their lives, looking for anything to discredit them. Many of those women had been targeted by JE as girls specifically because they had difficult home lives - parents in jail, on drugs etc. I imagine it wasn’t that hard to find stuff to be used against them.

Lellikelly26 · 09/12/2019 19:16

Prince Andrew (I resent using the title) was so arrogant in his interview. To think we would believe his nonsense he must think we are all thick plebs. Then having watched panorama there is no doubt he would have known what JE was up to, and been involved himself. That Ghislane woman is truly vile

Evilmorty · 09/12/2019 20:17

Dershowitz protests too much, he sounds guilty as sin. That thing he said about she doesn’t know me, she never heard of me... almost sounds like she’s such a little inferior person, how would such a thing ever even know my great and powerful name. Fuck off mate.

I also think the line about the British people getting behind her showed a little chink in her armour, but it made her more believable to me. It’s a juvenile thing to say. She didn’t have a real childhood, I felt it reflected that.

browneyedgirl2018 · 09/12/2019 20:27

While I do believe VG's claims that Prince Andrew had sex with her, after her interview I don't trust her or her motives. She didn't come across as believable to me and parts felt like she was acting.

CleansUpDragonPoo · 09/12/2019 21:01

There is so much more to come out around the whole sordid Jeffrey Epstein business, we cannot know whether PA, VR or anyone else already know to be involved or still coming forward is telling the truth, we can only speculate. Perhaps we will never know, we will simply move on to the next story, horrible or not, leaving those involved to pick up the pieces or attempt to live with their consciences.

This can be such a wonderful world, but frequently isn't. Sad, but true.

So, whoever it was who said that Beatrice's wedding would be called off has been proven right ...

........
Oh no! I haven't heard that before. I thought it might be changed/modified but didn't dream it would be called off. Poor girl.

I'll look at the news and see what's happening.

Bluerussian · 10/12/2019 01:05

No, it hasn't been cancelled, Princess Beatrice will marry next year but details yet to be announced.

Engagement party has been called off because of Andrew, it was due to be held this month. I expect they'll do something private.

DonKeyshot · 10/12/2019 01:53

Imo VG is a more credible witness than PA and it remains to be seen whether GM , if she is of a mind to do so, can mount any kind of defence of his behaviour/actions given that he has so resoundingly shot himself in the foot with that disastrous interview.

However, there is a far bigger picture which involves men of serious wealth and influence who are not persuaded that there is any cachet, or anything for them to gain, by being on first name terms with a member of the British Royal Family, albeit that Andrew is one of Her Majesty's sons.

To that extent PA is small fry who can be thrown under the bus, or used as fodder to detract attention from those who have the most to lose if their involvement with Epstein and his veritable harem of teens becomes public knowledge.

While I doubt that many of these ostensibly great and good philanthropists are quaking in their boots, I doubt that any of them are complacently believing that this has gone away.

Trump distancing himself from PA was interesting, especially his body language and that little pursed mouth as he denied having met him. Unfortunately for The Donald, photographic evidence shows that he has been face to face with PA in numerous occasions.

DonKeyshot · 10/12/2019 05:16

Dershowitz has been working hard, very hard, on discrediting Epstein's detractors and the list of those he's been involved with over the years reads like a Who''s Who of American politics and also of captains of what could loosely be called 'industry'.

He's not so much a mover and shaker as a man who undoubtedly knows where the bodies are buried - one look at who he's been entwined with over the years is sufficient to convince me that he's got the goods on the major players in American politics.

If I was Dershowitz I might be acutely aware of my advanced age with its propensity for an unremarkably speedy exit from this mortal coil due to a unnatural cause.

TurquoiseDress · 10/12/2019 07:15

@Moomin8

Do you have a link for that about Beatrice's wedding?

Bloody hell, poor girl.
Her little sister gets all the fanfare public/state wedding with procession etc

By the time she gets round to it, things are massively curtailed thanks to Daddy's antics!

And wasn't Beatrice with that charmer who dated her for like 10 years, dumped her then was married only a year or so later. Classic.
I've got a good friend who something similar happened to

lonelyplanetmum · 10/12/2019 07:23

Just to say that I believe the victim too. Prince Andrew's behaviour was disgusting- devoid of morals. From the son of the head of the C of E too.

He 'justified' friendship with an obvious paedophile by praising his 'extraordinary ability' to bring people together.

Utter nonsense. Members of the royal family have a far greater ability to bring people together. PA could snap his fingers and get Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos etc etc together if he wanted.

He tried to minimise the friendship by saying he was stayed 2 to 3 times a year. Well I don't stay with my best Uni friends 3 times a year and they're in the same country.Epstein and Maxwell were clearly his close friends.

I think PA was drawn to Epstein because he offered the opportunities he did. As some one said up thread he was simply fulfilling his destiny as a master of the universe. He obviously has that immense sense of entitlement, but limited outlet for it within the confines of palace life.

If he thought about these girls at all, he probably thought he was doing them a great honour by bestowing them with his company and his princely penis.

Moomin8 · 10/12/2019 07:43

Ah sorry I didn't read properly - it was her engagement party that's been cancelled, not the actual engagement.

SerendipityJane · 10/12/2019 09:40

Ah, yes ... the "p" word that seems to cause so much confusion in royal circles. "P"rivate, but with "P"ublic money ?

yesterdayhasgone · 10/12/2019 09:49

That’s a blessing then.

xChristmasJumperx · 10/12/2019 10:18

Beatrice didn't abuse anybody. Her father's abuses and associations were known when Eugenie got married. If she felt very upset now, she'd only be human. She got dealt the your father's a dickhead card, just before her wedding.
