VG/Prince Andrew - to say I wasn’t sure before but I believe her

churchandstate · 03/12/2019 07:05

I posted in a thread after the Prince Andrew interview, and although I didn’t believe him about everything he said, I wasn’t wholly convinced at that time that he was lying about sleeping with young girls, about seeing things in Epstein’s houses that should have repelled him, about having sex with Virginia Roberts in particular. I just didn’t think there was certainty to be had.

I am convinced now. I believed every word she was allowed to say last night and I am only sad they didn’t give her more air time. Prince Andrew has very serious questions to answer.

Well I can't help feeling a bit sorry for Ghislane. Yes, what she did was awful but she totally in Epstein's thrall from what I read, he certainly did exert power over people. There are plenty of women - and girls - who end up doing things like that for men. The reasons are beyond me but it's a fact.

I hope it doesn't happen but I have a feeling Miss Maxwell might go the same way as her late boyfriend.

BlackCatSleeping · 08/12/2019 10:17

I have not an ounce of sympathy for Ghislaine Maxwell. She had every opportunity in life and is by all accounts a very charismatic and engaging person. She was his willing accomplice. She did terrible things to these girls and women.

Tvstar · 08/12/2019 10:20

It would be n that he sued not the poster

TatianaLarina · 08/12/2019 10:39

This is a ludicrous argument. By and large people believe VG over PA. Will the royal family sue the whole country?

LaurieMarlow · 08/12/2019 10:50

It’s a bit like the Paddy Jackson rape case (Northern Ireland). He threatened legal action to someone on Twitter and as a direct result #suemepaddy started trending Grin

SerendipityJane · 08/12/2019 11:01

It would be n that he sued not the poster

Assuming you mean "mn" then, no - they're off the hook as merely acting as a conduit for the allegations. Their get out will be to pass the posters details onto the person claiming defamation and let them go through the courts. To be fair to MN they will contact posters before they do that offering to remove their posts if they don't want to be dragged to court.

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt under another username. It was when MN was targetted by some very very litigious Americans.

tillytrotter1 · 08/12/2019 11:14

@DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh I totally agree with you. I think the excuses being made for PA are so predictable. If he wasn't a member of the Royal Family there wouldn't be so many excuses being made for him. hmm

The corollary is that were he not a member of the Royal Family so many women would be coming forward, having remembered something from decades ago.

Lizzie0869 · 08/12/2019 11:23

I hardly think PA will sue for libel. The Royal Family would hate this to end up in the courts, that would be so humiliating.

I agree that if he weren't a member of the Royal Family there wouldn't be so many people making excuses for him.

MinervaSaidThat · 08/12/2019 11:30

Just seen this

Second Jeffrey Epstein victim claims she ‘had sex with Prince Andrew

And another witness has corroborated seeing PA dancing with VG at Tramp.

xChristmasJumperx · 08/12/2019 12:01

Ghislaine was a beautiful woman with no money worries. She could have walked away and just let a quieter life.

Not saying it would have been easy but she could have adjusted to life without Jeffrey Epstein I'm sure.

It's clear that a lot of people know she has deliberately gone in to hiding. Don't know if they know where but watching Lady Victoria Hervey's interview on Morning TV, before the whereabouts of Ghislaine Maxwell were being speculated on so much, LVH said something that revealed she knew Ghislaine had deliberately gone in to hiding. LVH seemed very certain Ghislaine would never be heard of again, so it must be known that it is a very GOOD hiding place. She's not on the run.

xChristmasJumperx · 08/12/2019 12:02

And that interview was given before VG's interview. I watched PA's interview and knew he was lying and holding back but until I saw VG's interview I didn't realise how involved Ghislaine was, so GM went in to hiding a while ago, she knew all of this would come out. She's less in denial than Prince Andrew.

TatianaLarina · 08/12/2019 12:04

The corollary is that were he not a member of the Royal Family so many women would be coming forward, having remembered something from decades ago.

That’s not a corollary it’s a non sequitur. So many = 2 thus far. Two have merely corroborated VG’s account.

VG is principally speaking out against JE, PA was just one of her ‘assignments’.

Evilmorty · 08/12/2019 12:04

Ghislaine needed a steady income to keep her in the style she was accustomed to as Robert Maxwells favourite child. JE provided that as long as she kept her part of the deal. She’s a cunt.

Evilmorty · 08/12/2019 12:10

Ghislaine was always massively protected in this which is why JE claimed the fifth amendment instead of incriminating himself and others ie her, PA and several other world leaders. Her mews house is barely worth anything by central London standards, she did need the money.

xChristmasJumperx · 08/12/2019 12:16

That's what I mean about leading a quieter life. It would have been an adjustment, I don't doubt! From minted to 'secure'. But.............. I don't have sympathy for her. She had herself. Her name, her looks, her engaging personality, she went to oxford, she spoke french, she had her connections, a secure place to live. She had enough.

TatianaLarina · 08/12/2019 12:26

She wanted the billionaire’s lifestyle and she was prepared to do anything to get it.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 08/12/2019 12:31

She’s probably been salting money away for years in preparation. Like a Nazi on the run. She’ll have a lovely house on a Caribbean island somewhere or S America.
She’ll be able to buy herself a new identity .
It’s sickening. There are lots of people who want her to shut up so they’ll use their money to shield her. Or she’ll come to a nasty end like her father.
Why should anyone feel sorry for her? She sounds vicious and without conscience. It runs in the family.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 08/12/2019 12:32

She’s also still a ‘friend’ or PA remember. I’m damn sure he knows where she is.

xChristmasJumperx · 08/12/2019 12:35

Yes I think she knew this day was coming and she had her new identity up and running long before this broke.

Bluerussian · 08/12/2019 12:38

You could all be right about GW, we'll see how it pans out. Of course we may never know.

RhinoskinhaveI · 08/12/2019 12:42

I find it hard to see GM's position as anything other than precarious
yes she is very wealthy very well connected etc but she knows where all of the bodies are buried, she knows way too much and it must be in a lot of people's interests to have her permanently and irrevocably silenced...

MinervaSaidThat · 08/12/2019 12:44

She had herself. Her name, her looks, her engaging personality, she went to oxford, she spoke french, she had her connections, a secure place to live. She had enough.

She only had an income of £60k pa once her father died in disgrace. And her ‘enough’ wasn’t going to get her the £8m apartment in NY and news house in Belgravia.

xChristmasJumperx · 08/12/2019 12:44

What do you mean ''her situation is precarious''.Do you mean that she will inevitably be found? Or that she could be killed?!
