John Lewis 2019 Christmas advert- hit or miss?

It's just been released and I think they've caught the mood just right after last year's odd collaboration with Elton. Cute, not ostentatious, Christmassy and a subtle intro to Waitrose.

Thought it was ok, was watching on YouTube and then the Argos one came on which is brilliant I think.

The carrot Aldi one is irritating.

It didn't make me cry but it is a cute ad. Not as good as previous years I don't think.

I liked it. The girl is very good. The gift plays a low-key role and is appropriate rather than expensive.

I am a huge cynic about Christmas and the spending that goes with it but while we do spend it might as well be on things that are thoughtful, not tat and not too expensive.

Edgar is cute - they chose well in my view

I love it as the dragon reminds me of my son. He has some very special qualities as an autistic child with ADHD. I'll be showing him this this evening. Those qualities are seen as undesirable to many but when channeled correctly he brings his individual value to others.

The little girl and the king (in red at the end) are fabulous- so expressive.

JL doesn't seem to be trying to cash in on Edgar merch too too much- there are only 4 things and the most expensive is £19.

The Sainsbury's one is quite cute, perhaps trying to squeeze a bit too much into 2.5minutes.
The Argos one doesn't really do anything for me- just a procession of things to buy.

My 4 year old Dd asked me to put it on twice as she loved it
Also the fact that the little girl has red hair like her

It made me a bit teary, but the ending is nice and its lovely to see that gorgeous red hair!

I would like the wellies but suspect my feet are a little too big.

I love it. I think my favourite will always be the boxer dog but I can see Edgar being a close second. This year was much better than last year's Elvis and the monster under the bed before that.

It’s fine, but I hate hate hate these pared down versions of good songs they use every year.

I’ll be pleased when they decide to change that up.

Sainsbury’s is the winner for me this year. It made me cry.
Edgar is so cute though.

This is my favourite since Monty. I absolutely loathe the songs they choose though.

I didn't like it at all.

Sainburies have done it for me this year, I cried when I saw it for the first time.

I guess the children will like it. I was not moved.

I really liked it.

Though they've stolen our wedding song!
