It's just been released and I think they've caught the mood just right after last year's odd collaboration with Elton. Cute, not ostentatious, Christmassy and a subtle intro to Waitrose.

Those Edgar toys are on ebay for £30 now, still £15 in JL if you're quick. Nothing like a Christmas toy to bring out the greed.

It's a bit meh, I prefer the mozzy advert.

I don't see how buying merchandise because you like the ad is any different to buying film merchandise because you like a film.
Nobody is being forced to the till with anything.

It's my favourite advert along with the Irn Bru snowman and last year's McDonalds one with Santa and his reindeer

I watched it online. I don't like it. It's sad most of the way through and the ending isn't particularly happy

JL ads tend to grow on me. I like Edgar, but not a patch on bear and the hare or monty (I bought two penguins today after emotional Christmas blackmail from the kids).

Can’t beat the Sainsbury’s ww1 ad. I cry my eyes out every time.

We love the John Lewis ad here. Ditto McDonalds!! It has me teary every time it comes on.
I think most of the adverts are good this year, it’s like they’ve all got their mojo back, after a bleak few years.

I've seen the Tesco one now with the nod the back to the future.
