To ask why everyone hates Corbyn?

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:38

I’d genuinely like to see some facts and reasons as to why Corbyn is so awful that people would choose voting Tory (and people dying) over him.

Genuine reasons that are factual ... I’m wondering what information I seem to be missing that everyone else is seeing?

I'm am interested to see replies to this too but I think I know what to expect...

TheNewSchmoo · 31/10/2019 21:40

He's an IRA sympathiser? Totally disregards the blatant anti-Semitism pervading his party?

LoyaltyBonus · 31/10/2019 21:41

His support for the IRA. Which is a shame because I actually like some of his idealism

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:42

Where’s the facts with the IRA sympathiser stuff though? We’ve seen photos of him shake the hands of man that all other leaders and even the Queen has.

OP posts:
timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:42

Again I would like to see something in black and white that proves he’s an IRA sympathiser?

Muwanain · 31/10/2019 21:43

Dailymail

TitianaTitsling · 31/10/2019 21:43

The support for the IRA, saying he supports indyref2 for a start.

everythingisginandroses · 31/10/2019 21:45

This thread should be titled "Come and post some total bollocks here". I like JC, he's a decent, self-effacing, hardworking chap.

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:45

Please someone provide me with proof or links of this as I can’t see anything of the sort. I can only see he was working towards peace?

OP posts:
Nextphonewontbesamsung · 31/10/2019 21:45

I like him but he is anti-Europe so that's a problem for me. Otherwise, I think he's great!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 31/10/2019 21:45

They hate him because they're told to ( by the right wing press).

I am definitely not a fan but I really don't think he's nearly as dangerous as Johnson et al.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 21:45

The fact that he wants to abolish private education and “redistribute” hundreds of billions of pounds worth of private shares and property while imposing crushing taxes is enough to be getting on with, I think!

loobyloo1234 · 31/10/2019 21:45

Where’s the facts with the IRA sympathiser stuff though

He refused to condemn what they did. Live on radio. I’m still voting Labour. But the facts are there. Try google Hmm

Mintjulia · 31/10/2019 21:46

My view is he’s an IRA sympathiser, his politics have all the subtlety of an angry teenager, he would bankrupt the UK with Tom Watson’s help and he’s sexist and anti-Semitic.

Plus I have no idea where he stands on Brexit and he hasn’t got the decency to make his views clear.

Basically a bigoted hypocrite.

I have no idea who I will vote for this time.

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:46

I agree everything. I never ever get anything factual when it comes to hating Corbyn. Just that photo of him with Martin Mcguiness?

OP posts:
Digestive28 · 31/10/2019 21:46

Overall you just get the sense that he is the kind of person who is better shouting how awful everyone else is but when you ask them what to do different they shrug their shoulders and don’t know. I know people like that in RL esp at work. I think his role is to be part of the solution not just complain about others messing up.
Plus the whole anti-Semitism thing. Just awful that it hasn’t been properly addressed. And the arrogance of those around him bullying others if they don’t agree, not a leader I want

StoneofDestiny · 31/10/2019 21:47

He has been condemned for speaking to members of the IRA? Crikey - the only way the peace process moved on to the Good Friday agreement was because somebody did. I recall Thatcher nor even allowing their voices to be heard on TV and having them dubbed! Fat good that was - roll on to Mo Mowlam and things shifted forward.

I'm more concerned with Boris Johnson shoring up the odious DUP with cash deals - a party led by a totally sectarian member of the Orange Order! (But now he has double crossed them too, what a surprise). And, more concerned with Johnson's attitude to blacks, Muslim and Scots.

VanyaHargreeves · 31/10/2019 21:47

I wouldn't say I hate him, I quite liked him in the very beginning, but he is weak and ineffectual in opposition, is I very much fear unelectable, and I doubt we'll see another Labour Government til they sort themselves and their general public image out.

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:48

Try google Grin

I have and I don’t think that makes him a ‘sympathiser’ either!!

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 31/10/2019 21:48

Op, I can only assume you are in your early 20s. It's all about timing.
Imagine if you will, someone shaking Bin Laden's hand just after 9/11.
Him shaking Adams' hand just after the Brighton Bomb was kinda like that.
He had fuck all to do with the peace process. A dead woman is the hero here - Mo Mowlem.
I'm half Irish and half Jewish. And I'm old. I grew up with poseur twats like him.

AgeLikeWine · 31/10/2019 21:49

I don’t hate Corbyn, and I would never vote Tory, but I do not support his leadership of the Labour Party.

Why?

Because he is demonstrably not the best person to lead Labour to victory. Other Labour MPs, such as Yvette Cooper or Keir Starmer would have significantly broader electoral appeal, vastly more credibility with mainstream voters as a potential PM and Labour would have a much better chance of winning under their leadership.

madeyemoodysmum · 31/10/2019 21:49

His policies are ridiculous unworkable and will bankrupt the country

Too many madness ideas to post. All of them punishing the hard working tax payers in this country.

I distrust him more than trump and that’s saying something!!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 31/10/2019 21:49

He's a bit scruffy and the daily mail told me he's dangerous so I'm going to vote for a party who will destroy the nhs, crash us out of the EU to benefit a few hedge fund managers and who have made our country a global laughing stock.

Plus he wears bicycle clips and looks a bit silly.

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:50

I am not early 20s at all and that is very patronising to someone who is! He aims for peace and to make peace you need to be able to talk to the opposition not go all trump on them.
