To ask why everyone hates Corbyn?

I’d genuinely like to see some facts and reasons as to why Corbyn is so awful that people would choose voting Tory (and people dying) over him.

Genuine reasons that are factual ... I’m wondering what information I seem to be missing that everyone else is seeing?

Here's a few reasons to dislike Boris Johnson - but his anti Muslim, anti Gay, anti Scots comments rarely get mentioned. Interesting those voting Tory because they perceive Corbyn as anti Semite or pro IRA don't seem to blink at Johnson's horrendous bigotry and open support for the DUP - the most bigoted sectarian political party these islands have ever had!

To ask why everyone hates Corbyn?
Girliefriendlikespuppies · 31/10/2019 22:33

I'm not a fan of him purely for the fact that labour stand no hope of winning an election with him in charge.

He needs to stand aside and allow someone more popular/mainstream in if this country is ever to be rid of the stories.

Leontine · 31/10/2019 22:34

I think it’d be for the best if he just stepped down. I don’t think Labour will ever win an election with him leading, even against Boris.

Many of the left leaning voters will opt for Lib Dems, Greens etc. thus diluting the vote. Especially with regional parties like SNP and Plaid Cymru, there’s just so much (probably too much) choice for liberals.

I’ll definitely be voting on 12th Dec but it all seems so hopeless. I’m just taking it as a given that the Tories will remain in power.

bellinisurge · 31/10/2019 22:34

He had fuck all to do with the peace process and GFA. Don't fall for that shit. I'm old. I've been around his type a lot of my life.
Mo Mowlem who is dead was the driving force in Labour. Not him. Easy for his acolytes to give him credit for a dead woman's work.

DrDreReturns · 31/10/2019 22:35

Yeah Johnson's a wanker too. So is Corbyn. They are both terrible people, its not one or the other don't you know.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 31/10/2019 22:35

He would have a chance of winning if people voted for him!
Everyone I know will ( I live in Manchester).

StreetwiseHercules · 31/10/2019 22:35

Because many people are thick and swallow everything their establishment bootlicking media tells them without nuance or critical thought.

I don’t like the Labour Party, or Jeremy Corbyn at all, but the way he is treated by the media (which lacks any professional standards organisation or real regulator) is appalling.

LolaSmiles · 31/10/2019 22:37

I was fine with him as a back bencher but I don't like him in leadership as much. The centre left is so divided at the moment and I think the role of momentum in the labour party isn't always a force for good.

Labour will have my vote on the quality of the local candidate. I'd be much happier with a centre left unity figure who could bring together the different sides of the party.

PineappleLumps · 31/10/2019 22:38

He’s a socialist and he has the most bizarre policy’s. He wants to take my Inheritance from me! He’s rumoured to be a natzi supporter Abd most of his followers are high hippy dippy millennials who buy into his utter shite.

PineappleLumps · 31/10/2019 22:38

I’d rather have trump as prime minister then Corbyn.

ViaSacra · 31/10/2019 22:39

And we’re back with the “If you are opposed to the actions of the Israeli government, you’re anti Semitic” trope again. I’m out.

You’re the only one who brought up Israel?

I didn’t mention Israel once. It’s not of any relevance here.

The antisemitic trope I mentioned is the implication that Jewish people are not fully integrated members of the societies in which they live. That being born and raised in England doesn’t make them English.

Reenskar · 31/10/2019 22:39

I don’t hate him, but I find his ideologies concerning and unworkable. Only a few short years ago him and his acolytes were praising the system in Venezuela and hoping to implement similar ideas in the UK Hmm.

bellinisurge · 31/10/2019 22:39

One of the reasons Thatcher lasted so long was because the opposition to her was shite and Foot, unlike Corbyn, was an intelligent honourable man, if unelectable. Kinnock almost did it but it wasn't until John Smith ended the Clause 4 grip that Labour were able to present themselves as a government in waiting. And then Smith died and was replaced by Blair.
If you don't know who these people are, google their names.
Spoiler alert : Corbyn was nowhere near any of this because he was a back bench poseur.

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 22:40

“ He’s rumoured to be a natzi supporter“

He’s rumoured to be a Nazi supporter? You are joking? Please tell me you’re joking....

And “take your inheritance?” What do you mean by that?

PineappleLumps · 31/10/2019 22:41

Also I know a lot of people who vote conservative including myself who joined the Labour Party to make sure he got elected because they knew he would never get labour elected. Very smart move as no one will vote for him.

SallyWD · 31/10/2019 22:41

Not everyone hates himmi know plenty of people who love him.

bellinisurge · 31/10/2019 22:43

I'm sure they do @SallyWD . People love Johnson and Faridge.
So what?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/10/2019 22:43

I’d genuinely like to see some facts and reasons as to why Corbyn is so awful that people would choose voting Tory (and people dying) over him.
Its much more likely Corbyn would destroy the economy and cause the deaths of many people.

PineappleLumps · 31/10/2019 22:43

@BertrandRussell It’s hard to explain I don’t mean he’s going to personally take it from me. But his ideas on wealth and who has it are not good. My investors told me they have plans in place should he be elected.

PineappleLumps · 31/10/2019 22:44

@BertrandRussell nope I’m not joining, what a horrible thing to joke about.

onlyconnect · 31/10/2019 22:45

For me it's because with a better leader we may not have even ended up with leave winning the referendum. Then failing to score into the massive open goal that's been there for three years.
I like most of his policies but they won't attract people who are not natural Labour supporters which is what they need to do.
He's useless. No election winning vision, no wide appeal, no clarity over Brexit. I can hardly bear to look at him. It could all have been so different.

Tanith · 31/10/2019 22:47

Also I know a lot of people who vote conservative including myself who joined the Labour Party to make sure he got elected because they knew he would never get labour elected. Very smart move as no one will vote for him.

No, it makes you an undemocratic liar. If this is what the Conservatives have to stoop to, the quicker they are out of office, the better.

DonKeyshot · 31/10/2019 22:50

Corbyn is a relic of the Socialist Workers Party and should never been allowed to join the Labour Party.

As is typical of SWP members, he's a Marxist who has clearly never read Das Kapital and whose somewhat Lenin-like mission is to impose a new world order that will benefit him and his comrades rather than the population or the country as a whole.

In other words, he's just another self-seeking, self-serving politician who knows everything there is to know about the plight of the working wo/man but has never done a day's work in his life.

Inebriati · 31/10/2019 22:50

What Labour plan to do to the Equality Act will gut womens rights. The end result for women will be the same or worse as the policies in the UKIP manifesto.

The last few years, Labour should have had the easiest task of any UK opposition party in recent memory. They've had plenty to work with.
Instead, Corbyn supports Universal Credit and austerity.

wondering7777 · 31/10/2019 22:51

He aims for peace and to make peace you need to be able to talk to the opposition not go all trump on them.

To be fair, Trump did try talking to Kim Jong-un!
