To ask why everyone hates Corbyn?

timeaftertime79 · 31/10/2019 21:38

I’d genuinely like to see some facts and reasons as to why Corbyn is so awful that people would choose voting Tory (and people dying) over him.

Genuine reasons that are factual ... I’m wondering what information I seem to be missing that everyone else is seeing?

OP posts:
Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:13

He’s wildly anti women
He is anti Jew
He’s a raving communist
He wants to bankrupt Britain

Grin

Translation:

He’s wildly anti women he doesn't hate trans people
He is anti Jew he's critical of the Israeli government
He’s a raving communist He's a democratic socialist like many other European leaders
He wants to bankrupt Britain He wants a fairer society in which the rich and large companies (such as Amazon) pay a bit more so that we don't need foodbanks, schools can afford supplies and the NHS isn't on its knees.

maxiflump1 · 31/10/2019 23:13

I simply can't vote labour whilst he at the helm as his political ideals are too radical left. Only today a labour MP has been on the radio saying labours vision for the U.K. is that there should be no billionaires. I'm all for a fairer society but extreme socialism in this manner would be a disaster for this country. In the words of the greatest leader the U.K. has ever known:

To ask why everyone hates Corbyn?
Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:16

Corbyn and Momentum really ought to accept that there is no appetite for far left politics in this country

My twitter feed and the 485000 labour party members beg to differ.

@maxiflump1 why on earth does anyone need to be a billionaire? The labour mp in question wasn't suggesting that they would ban billionaires just that a fairer society would see the wealth more evenly distributed. I am 100% in agreement.

Paintedmaypole · 31/10/2019 23:18

If being a good leader involves being a unifying force and mediation skills Boris is much more of a spectacular failure. Thank you for the translation sunshine93 good post. That makes much better sense.

Let’s hope that’s all the votes he gets! Grin

Alltheprettyseahorses · 31/10/2019 23:20

Corbyn was not involved in the peace talks. He had nothing to do with them whatsoever. The only link he had was tagging along with Livingstone on 1 single visit he made to speak to IRA prisoners but even then Corbyn played no part. It is utterly absurd that people claim he did when the full details of everyone involved are a matter of public record. It's like reality doesn't matter when you can make something up to support your own views. The mind boggles!

Corbyn most certainly is racist too. His words, his actions, his friendships, his defences of Jew-haters who call for the destruction of all Jews, the events he goes to where he claps along to the ravings of holocaust deniers, those sorts of things. The very few EDMs he signed are irrelevant, especially when considering he's signed nearly 20k. If you want to argue they are, well then he wants everyone killed by an asteroid too.

I don't hate Corbyn tbh, only disappointed and vaguely disgusted. He's just some lying, lazy career politician the same as the rest - worse, perhaps, because he's never actually done anything in his 36 years as an MP. Its wacky if people actually do love him though. He isn't a pop star! But he's not as popular as they pretend anyway, never has been. Even the camera angles and other tricks can't fake it any more.

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:22

He got 40% of the vote share in the last election. May got 42%

Give a fuck about your twitter feed.

maxiflump1 · 31/10/2019 23:22

@Sunshine93 why shouldn't someone be a billionaire if they've worked hard all their life for it?? Where is the incentive for anyone to
Work hard at anything if they see other people not putting in the same effort and reaping the same rewards? Plenty of the uks billionaires have made their own fortune with no formal education (Richard Branson, James Dyson, JK Rowling to name a few) but do huge amount of charitable and philanthropy work.

AutumnColours9 · 31/10/2019 23:23

Media brainwashing

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:25

@Alltheprettyseahorses

Corbyn most certainly is racist too. His words

Lots to respond to there but I wonder if you could quote his racist words as a starting point. I wouldn't want to think I was supporting a racist so would like the full facts so I can make an informed decision. Clearly you know something I don't.

DarkMutterings · 31/10/2019 23:25

This 'Many of the left leaning voters will opt for Lib Dems, Greens etc. thus diluting the vote. Especially with regional parties like SNP and Plaid Cymru, there’s just so much (probably too much) choice for liberals.'

As a leader (as opposed to a back bencher) he should understand how to play the game, and he doesn't. Rather than step aside and put a unifying leader in, he and his supporters insist he stays on. Net result the vote will be diluted and labour will lose.

On the other side it's Tories vs UKIP and even some of the most rabid brexiter will balk at voting for Farage as anything other than a one trick pony definitely not PM, so the Tories by promising Brexit will gain voters.

It's not bloody rocket science, but if Corbyn and his supporters can't see that or worse can see that, but refuse to do anything about it - then really what hope has he got as PM. Labour should be storming this election, and currently it's not even coming in a close second in the polls.

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 23:28

The blind eye the media turn towards Johnson becomes forensically microscope-like when turned on Corbyn.

Paintedmaypole · 31/10/2019 23:30

Can you give evidence of when he has clapped along to holocaust deniers alltheprettyhorses and examples of Jew haters he befriends?

shortsaint · 31/10/2019 23:30

@Sunshine93 Good name. Good comments.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 31/10/2019 23:30

He's either an anti-Semite, or he cannot be bothered to deal with anti-Semitism in his party. It all goes way beyond criticism of the Israeli government.

There are other reasons why I won't vote for him, but that alone is quite enough.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 23:31

The blind eye the media turn towards Johnson becomes forensically microscope-like when turned on Corbyn.

Please. If that were true Corbyn would be restricted to an allotment growing marrows, not running to be PM. There are plenty of media sympathizers eagerly pushing him on the gullible.

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:33

Where is the incentive for anyone to worrk hard at anything if they see other people not putting in the same effort and reaping the same rewards?

Personally a few hundred million would be more than enough incentive for me!

Jk Rowling isn't actually a billionaire. A quick Google says she is worth 750million.

This isn't about how they got it or whether they are working class or uneducated or how hard they work it's about equality. I work hard, ost people work hard, a cleaner works hard, the person who cleans the toilets at kings cross station works hard, nurses work hard etc. If you live in a country where there are 200000 homeless children and 1.6 million food parcels are given out from foodbanks in a year yet there are people with £1 000 000 000 you don't live in a fair society

If you are happy to live in a society like that then fine but I am not so I will vote labour.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 31/10/2019 23:34

Good grief, Sunshine93 - are you being deliberately disingenuous? Corbyn's racism has been front page news several times. The 'Zionists don't understand English irony' incident, a case of undeniable, unambiguous racism, has been discussed already on this thread. His contemptuous dismissal of Ellman as the Honourable Member for Tel Aviv. Stuff like that. It's unbelievable that people cry 'evidence' when numerous examples have been widely reported on recently. But the truth is it doesn't matter. You'll always say 'where's the evidence?' no matter what.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 31/10/2019 23:35

For anyone who doubts the anti-Semitism, go and take a look at the Jewish Chronicle. It's easy to find online.

If Jews tell me it's anti-Semitism, I'll believe them. I reckon they've had enough practice spotting it.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 31/10/2019 23:37

Paintedmaypole Are you really asking that? I mean it's not like videos and details of Corbyn's friendships, letters and articles haven't been all over the news.

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 23:41

case of undeniable, unambiguous racism it really isn't. Zionist is a political term he wasn't referring to Jewish people and you know that really

The Tel Aviv claim was a lie. He denied saying that.

I genuinely have never seen or heard him say anything racist himself.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 23:42

If Jews tell me it's anti-Semitism, I'll believe them. I reckon they've had enough practice spotting it.

This x1000! But for the cult, the Great Leader can do no wrong, so...

Goodnightseamer · 31/10/2019 23:43

He has consistently tacitly supported and explicitly refused to condemn terrorist attacks carried out by groups that labour have decided are fighting oppression.
His agitprop stance is a useful counterbalance to realpolitik but should never be adopted as mainstream policies by any party wanting to be seen as a serious contender for power.
He surrounds himself with aggressive misogynistic bullies who have campaigned often successfully for councillors and candidates with legitimate track records of working in people's interests to get things done to be deselected on the basis of wrong-think.
He thinks men are women.
He doesn't care about women.
He is weak-willed and vacillating on the most immediately pressing domestic political question of the day.
His economic calculations are written on the back of a fag packet.
His endorsement of a mendacious slippery fuck for a deputy screams either poor judgement or genuinely not giving a shit.
He grows a surplus of vegetables.
He wears stupid fucking hats.
He looked like a binman at the cenotaph.
He hasn't got a fucking clue.
But he is just about intelligent enough to be dangerous.

ArseDarkly · 31/10/2019 23:46

If Jews tell me it's anti-Semitism, I'll believe them. I reckon they've had enough practice spotting it.

And if other Jews tell you it isn't? Then what?
