Mystery knickers

A pair of black knickers appeared (clean) in a pile of clothing I had ready to wash in the living room. They are not mine.

I asked DP and he genuinely seems clueless. We work together + we spend 95% of our time together. I do work 2 evenings a week, but during this time DP is looking after our toddler & I'm back within 2 hours of DS going to bed.

We haven't had any female guests staying. DPs male friend stayed with us 4 weeks ago and it did cross my mind, but they'd be far too small (size 6) for him anyway.

Anyone want to help me play detective?

@forumdonkey - well its as good an idea as many that have been put forward. From reading some of the posts on MN I'm surprised more men don't just to see the reaction. But then again the automatic assumption is affair LTB so maybe not.

Sometimes strange things happen. I think the sad thing that springs out is how few Mumsnetters trust their spouse. I suspect this is a feature of MN as the majority of people I know aren't MN users and seem to be happily married. The impressions gained are usually a symptom of the people asked, if you asked a load of butchers and a group of vegans about beef production you'd get two different impressions of the ethics.

I found a random pink pair the label was a size 6 made by SvP. I thought they were from st Vincent DePaul.
I never found out where they came from they were plain cotton dirty off pink.

My 2 cents. It's no good driving yourself nuts. Just mentally file it away as unexplained,pending further watching. There is a fine line between wary and naive. I was naive and accepted everything. My ex was a very convincing liar too and I ignored all kinds of evidence because he would lie straight to my face and so well that I landed up thinking, I must be the crazy one.
Try not to let it destroy your relationship and trust but just be aware.

DP is a large in men's, so it's very unlikely.

Whilst I will probably be extra wary, I've decided to put it aside for now & carry on as usual. I will 100% update you if I find anything concrete, my inner detective wants to know too!

I had one such undies issue with a partner , and gave up worrying about it very quickly .
I wouldn't bother about a size 6 pair of knickers ... or you will get into Geheimnistaatspolizei territory very quickly . Life is too short and the nazis were defeated 73 years ago .

Sorry I'm a little confused as to how knickers that have fallen from behind a radiator have ended up on a pile of clean washing with no one in the household having any knowledge of finding the knickers by the radiator and moving them? Maybe I missed something though?

Even I f there had been an OW round, that's still no explanation for a clean pair of unknown knickers ending up neatly sat in a washing pile, is it.

I think there'll be some far less unpalatable explanation than a cheating OH.

Our dog brought back a ladies thong. We assumed they were my sister's ( they weren't-she was horrified we thought she'd own something in such a hideous pattern 🤣). We realised the hound was the culprit when he showed such intense interest!

I'm betting it was in a bag of hand me downs that have just got misplaced along the way to ending up in your laundry. DH probably saw them on the floor next to where you were sorting out the bag of hand me downs and assumed they were yours and stuck them in the laundry pile.
