I've now, ten years later, stumbled across a similar comment being made on a TV show I'm watching. This time the guy is required to do so before any sexual encounter.

Possibly, but I would be quite uncomfortable if I wasn’t as fresh as I could be (after a 12-hour shift at work, for example) & sex was on the agenda, so I imagine a lot of people feel the same.

For me it depends if he's circumcised. Wth my two ex-partners, non-circumcised, I used to get them to wash because it always stank under there. Current circumcised DP literally never smells or looks dirty, even after a day at work or strenuous activity. Foreskins are smeg-holders.

I never used to ask DH to, but he never felt comfortable unless he was freshly washed. My ex never used to bother specifically for sex but he was clean enough, I never had any complaints.

DH never tastes of pee or sweat, whether or not he's just washed. He showers thoroughly every day and is circumcised. I wouldn't ask him to wash, no.
