Favourite and least favourite holiday you have visited?

Love travelling and always looking for recommendations. Where has been your favourite and least favourite holiday you have ever visited and why?
So far my favourite has been the Canadian Rockies - amazing scenery.
Least favourite has been Benidorm - got terrible food poisoning and was a bit too “Brits abroad”

Best...LA, Barcelona, Berlin, Cyprus
Worst...South of France

Best: Iceland and Slovenia
Worst: New York and Naples

Best....Cornwall
Worst....tenerife

Best Canada
Worst kavos awful awful awful

Worst: New York, both times. And a cruise I took around India, Sri Lanka, Thailand etc

Best: Travelling around France for 3 weeks with my husband and daughter last year! We stayed in B and Bs and eurocamps and I enjoyed it more than pre-kid visits to Relais & Château hôtels.

Or a trip we took to Amsterdam where we crammed loads and loads of fun things in a short space of time.

I’ve learned that cost doesn’t seem to correlate with enjoyment much.

Ooh that's a tricky one, as I always choose very carefully and usually get it right. But if I have to pick two places, a) one that I would love to revisit and b) one that I have no wish to ever see again, they would be:

a) Scotland
b) Las Vegas

Best - Costa Rica, South West National Parks of USA, east Neuk of Fife

Worst - Las Vegas, Madrid, St Bees

Best : South Africa, California. Beyond amazing.

Worst : Singapore / Malaysia (fascinating countries, lovely people, but hated the climate), Paphos (way too ‘Brits abroad’ for us).

Best- Iceland, Japan, LA, Dubai
Worst- Thailand

Best: California - especially San Francisco and Yosemite.

Worst: Tenerife. What should be a lovely island has been ruined by horrible resorts.

Best - Croatia (Split, Brac, Dubrovnik), Budapest, Mayan Riviera, Miami.

Worst - Prague, Gumbet (although Bodrum was lovely), Berlin and the absolute worst of any holiday was Sharm El Sheikh.

Best - Orlando, Florida. Expensive, but for a good reason.

Worst - Lanzarote. No grass, everything looked dead and the bars/restaurants are v tacky.

Best - Atlanta / Utah / Perpignan/ Rome
Worst - Barcelona

Best - Kephalonia, most beautiful island
Worst - sunny beach in Bulgaria. Hellish place,

Best was Costa Rica.

The worst was the second time we went to Disneyland Paris and happened yo pick a very busy weekend (we had a lovely time the first time we went though).

@MaidofKent78 interested in your views of NYC. I enjoyed it, yet it was a massive let down for me too. Not sure if I just built up my expectations too much.

I'm looking to go back next year as my DP wants to go for his 40th. Hoping to enjoy it more next time.

I also hated Crete, Salou and Paris.

Love Barcelona, Amsterdam and Southern Cyprus.

Best - Uganda, Ghana, Vietnam

Worst - Delhi... never go to Delhi!!!

Agree I found NYC to be mediocre too.

Worst Turkey. Harassed constantly, dirty, had raging diarrhoea during the holiday and for 2 weeks when we returned.

Best, Florida.
Egypt..the pyramids and the museum are fantastic but was bitterly disappointed by the graffiti on the walls of the smallest pyramid. Really really upsetting.

Best: loved New York, both holidays to North Wales a stunning place.

Worst: Dublin over priced and boring.
Blackpool found it to be grim and shit parking for such a popular tourist destination. Will not visit either place again.

Best:
Rome - so much to see, so beautiful
Kenya - staggeringly beautiful and wonderful welcoming people

Worst:
Japan - got followed by a group of local men once and then a lone man. Really frightening and sinister.

Pontins Somerset - I genuinely do not know why I agreed to go on this trip that the inlaws organised but it was HELL. FILTHY everywhere. Small children smoking in front of their parents and being bought pints.

Best - Oman, Kenya, Sicily,

Worst - I can't think of one!

Best Iceland, Fuerteventura, Cephalonia and New York

Worst Tunisia - food in the hotel was making people ill and going outside was constant hassle

Best- Florida, Caribbean cruise, Singapore, Isle of Wight .

Worst- Gran Canaria, Costa del Sol
