Love travelling and always looking for recommendations. Where has been your favourite and least favourite holiday you have ever visited and why?
So far my favourite has been the Canadian Rockies - amazing scenery.
Least favourite has been Benidorm - got terrible food poisoning and was a bit too “Brits abroad”

Best: South Africa or log cabin in Big Sur. Or Portofino as well.
Worst: Ibiza. I hate clubbing so why I agreed to go I don’t know. Oh god and Switzerland. Fuck Switzerland.

thismeansnothing · 06/10/2019 13:24

Best - Cuba
Worst - Egypt

RunningNinja79 · 06/10/2019 13:26

Best: French Riviera. We stay 10 miles away from St Tropez. Beautiful down there.

Worst: NYC. Most over-rated place on earth.

ChuckyHereToPlay · 06/10/2019 13:34

Best- South Africa, Florida, Krakow

Worst- India, Turkey

ChuckyHereToPlay · 06/10/2019 13:36

I forgot to add Ibiza to my worst list. It was so bad I forgot I even went!

I really want to go to Iceland

Greenteandchives · 06/10/2019 13:38

Best: South America
Worst: Ireland

OpportunityKnocks · 06/10/2019 13:40

Best - galapagos

Worst - magaluf. It was grim.

Grumpyperson · 06/10/2019 13:41

Best: Jersey, Germany, Scotland
Worst: Spain (purse was stolen and the lifestyle just doesn't suit me) and one trip in Scotland (weather indifferent and ds was at an awkward toddler age and we had someone staying in the room above us in the B&B who was working so came in late and went out early and kept us awake). Also one trip in Hereford when ds was at an awkward toddler age and was sick all the time.

SafetyAdvice0FeedWhenAgitated · 06/10/2019 13:44

Best: Petra and Wadi Rum.
Worst: Paris. It's an overpriced shithole and large part of it smells bad...

Ellabella989 · 06/10/2019 13:45

@OpportunityKnocks would LOVE to go to Galapagos. Tokyo is getting some mixed comments which is making me nervous as I’m going there in a couple of weeks for the first time

Worst- Paris- completely and utterly overrated and underwhelming

maddy68 · 06/10/2019 13:53

Best Sri Lanka, worst Portugal

MrsEricBana · 06/10/2019 13:55

Best: Canada (jaw dropping scenery, lovely people), Maine (so wild and beautiful), California (outdoorsy, cool), plus Cornwall & Wales

Worst: South of France (scorching, offensively expensive, people seemed unhelpful where we stayed, too blingy)

usernom123123 · 06/10/2019 13:55

Best :Maldives, Singapore, Lanzarote,
Worst: Las Vegas & Dublin & Tijuana, Mexico. Not fussed on the Algarve either.

littlepaddypaws · 06/10/2019 13:55

hols since then have been fab,
best cornwall, cyprus, crete, i.o.w and malta

Fruityb · 06/10/2019 13:58

Best: cruise in the Norwegian Fjords - stunning views and so relaxed.

Worst: Naples last year. Not so much the place but the hotel was completely inappropriate for an 18 month old as it was at the top of a hill down a narrow alleyway and there was just nothing for him to do. He refused to sleep at night and was awake till at least ten and then awake at 6. He screamed, tantrummed, tried to throw himself out of the side of his pushchair more than once... I actually sobbed when we landed in this country because I was so relieved to get home. It was absolutely hideous. And I wasn’t keen on Naples or anywhere nearby, preferred Northern Italy by a mile.

Abouttimemum · 06/10/2019 14:00

Best - everywhere I’ve been in America. Topped by San Diego.
Worst - Lanzarote. A terrible place.

Abouttimemum · 06/10/2019 14:04

I absolutely love the mix of opinions on here. I think this definitely demonstrates we’re all different and you have to try these places for yourself!

Mightywease · 06/10/2019 14:13

Best: Krakow, Krakow and Krakow!! I love it. Oh and China
Worst: Copenhagen. I suspect it's a lovely, vibrant place but not in a wet February when we went (this was quite a number of years ago now)

TeaAddict235 · 06/10/2019 14:14

Best: Scotland, or St. Martin in the Caribbean

Worst: Tahiti (specifically Bora Bora as boring as hell), and Morocco (tangier, Marrakesh) where every bit of foreign female flesh is up for game and anyone of colour is referred to as a prostitute Confused)

Jaxhog · 06/10/2019 14:17

Best - Canada and Scilly
Worst - Tunisia

Popuppippa · 06/10/2019 14:20

Best; Skopelos, Venice on the Orient Express, Orlando (wasn't looking forward to it and had a wonderful holiday), Lisbon (really charming)

Worst; Istanbul (smoggy, sharply polarised and felt very uncomfortable)
Orlando during a hurricane

usernom123123 · 06/10/2019 14:22

Re Lanzarote and no grass😂😂 it's a volcanic island. "The soil" is actually volcanic larva, it's a miracle anything grows there, but it does. Lanzarote is such a divisive destination.
