I'm wondering what boris is meant to do?

The referendum result was leave .

The EU will not renegotiate but parliament wouldn't back the only deal available.

Now they won't back leaving at all.

The result was leave. Johnson promised to deliver that result.

So what now ?
There is No solution to this fuck up is there?

I know mn is primarily anti leave but for me the result was what it was and should be honoured. How many bites of the cherry should people get?

And not one party agrees with anything anyway. The EU will NOT negotiate so what are the options that the rebel MPs would like ?
Ignore the vote and pretend it didn't happen?

I am so sick of Brexit. David Cameron should be put in the stocks....

I agree with you. It's a shit show and we are literally out of options!

lovelyupnorth · 03/09/2019 19:09

Prison would be a good start.

2Rebecca · 03/09/2019 19:11

Agree, really pissed off with the MPs who think kicking the can down the road for 3 months is going to sort it all out. Don't blame the SNP and Lib Dems who always said they opposed Brexit but Labour said they'd honour the referendum then voted against the Brexit agreement just because it wasn't their special agreement.

Bahlindah · 03/09/2019 19:12

Assuming the anti No Deal legislation passes today, he is really boxed into a corner. Labour aren't willing to support his call for a GE, leaving with No Deal would be illegal. He either tries to get May's WA through (lol), calls a 2nd Referendum or resigns.

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 19:13

Give the people an informed choice, based on facts and not bullshit. Two questions on the paper:

Leave or remain?

Should leave be the most popular choice, no deal or negotiated withdrawal agreement?

Note that the EU has said they won't renegotiate without a significant change. For instance, a new government would prompt new negotiations.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/09/2019 19:14

David Cameron should be put in the stocks
Oh come come now, he’s apparently single handedly responsible for the upsurge in sales of Shepherd Huts. See, not all bad is he?Grin

There weren't even enough Torries/DUP to pass the Withdrawal Agreement. It was essentially shot down by the No Deal lot.

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 19:15

They are, but with specific conditions, mainly that the Tories wouldn't use the GE to push through no deal in the meantime.

horse4course · 03/09/2019 19:17

Has the penny dropped then? The brexit you were promised is undeliverable. The EU was never going to let us have all the benefits and none of the downsides.

StoneofDestiny · 03/09/2019 19:18

I'm wondering what boris is meant to do?

Resign?
Apologise for his lies?
Get therapy for his huge ego?
Get relationship counselling?
Go on som reality show like his dad?

Don't really give a toss as long as he is no longer PM

gamerwidow · 03/09/2019 19:20

I'm wondering what boris is meant to do?
Not be a pathological liar and self serving arsehole.

ColaFreezePop · 03/09/2019 19:21

@StoneofDestiny - resign please.

Shortest PM in history.

Butchyrestingface · 03/09/2019 19:21

I'm wondering what boris is meant to do?

Since he was never off May’s back when she was in the same position, I’m sure he has a well thought out plan.

🍷

2Rebecca · 03/09/2019 19:22

I think a GE is a good idea, and surely someone can find a legal thing Boris and the cabinet can sign that says the PM can't unilaterally change election day or they could vote to scrap that rule which sounds stupid anyway. The trouble is I'm not sure a GE will make things much clearer although I expect Labour to lose a lot of seats for having pissed about and lied about supporting Brexit. I'm in Scotland and really don't want another divisive indy vote and where the Tories are less Brexity and more "FFS let's get this sorted with something" or favour remain although would love to be out of the common fisheries and get our fishing waters back

GREATAUNT1 · 03/09/2019 19:25

This creepy fuck should get back in the gutter where he belongs.

relax2 · 03/09/2019 19:25

I'm a bit lost now tbh no idea wtf is going on however I'm intrigued to know whether the leave voters would still vote the same with a no deal on the table ConfusedI mean BJ literally lied his way to get that result and has made a total shambles of it . I am a remainer but yes now we should leave but we need a deal or it's going to be shitter than shit!

Tippety · 03/09/2019 19:25

Every day this is dragged out it's costing money, it's a negotiation tactic to show you are serious about being prepared to walk away if nothing is agreeable, teedious but true. I think it's too late though, and the things the EU wouldn't budge on for TM I can't imagine they will for Boris as they are major. I'm honestly not sure what on earth can be done now for the best, even imagining the ideal scenario. Some people seem to have Brexit fatigue now where they weren't overly fussed either way, but are so sick of hearing about it they'd probably vote leave just to get it over with, so not sure if another referendum would even accurately show what people wanted. I think all of the parties need to sort themselves out, decide what their positions are and maybe an election? It's such a web of crap that not sure if that would even help.

Outsomnia · 03/09/2019 19:28

The UK is just bonkers. Cannot make a decision, cannot decide what to do.

Parliament is shouting and roaring in the Commons Debates (that is unreal), but maybe it is tradition or something. How Bercow has any voice left if beyond me trying to shut them up and be civil.

I am just going to let it all pan out in peace and harmony, and whatever happens, so be it. Nothing more I can do now.

Bunch of idiots who hung on for 3+ years thinking everyone would kow tow down before them. It hasn't happened, and they have met their match and on we go now.

Exactly

gamerwidow · 03/09/2019 19:34

Erm they agreed a withdrawal plan and we voted against it. We can still go if we want to. This whole shit show is of the UKs making not the EUs.

gamerwidow · 03/09/2019 19:35

The brexit you were promised is undeliverable
Yes to this in spades. It’s not the EUs fault Vote Leave promised a unicorn and delivered a donkey.

CGTER567 · 03/09/2019 19:36

He could sand outside Downing Street and say "It is impossible to deliver what you want" for a start, instead of pretending he is seconds away from some other deal.

He is way over his head.

maartjebaabes · 03/09/2019 19:37

Family: Has the penny dropped then? The brexit you were promised is undeliverable. The EU was never going to let us leave

Except if the ERG had agreed to May's WA we would be out by now. The EU didn't stop us. Rees-Mogg and Mark Françòïs did.

Witchend · 03/09/2019 19:45

I think the best thing Boris could do would be resign and go back to clowning around at the back.

He makes me think of a badly behaved boy thinking he's terribly funny at the back of a classroom, calling out and heckling until the teacher says "fine, you come and teach this subject". He gets to the front and realises he hasn't a clue what to say or do.
So he slinks back to his seat again.
We can but hope.
