..to ask all Leave supporters ( and anyone else) to write to their MP and say you will accept an NI only backstop so that we can leave the EU in an orderly way on 31 October 2019?

Just that. We could leave on that basis . The EU is up for it. Are you?

NI is part of the UK. You can’t split a country in half.

bellinisurge · 10/08/2019 18:40

Perhaps you need to google "partition " before you say things like that😂. And NI is not half of UK. It also voted firmly for Remain.

Nice and helpful. Do you have any suggestions as to how we avoid a no Deal Brexit?

Cancel Brexit. It's not what the country wants anymore.

AsTheWorldTurns · 10/08/2019 19:02

Do you have any suggestions as to how we avoid a no Deal Brexit?

Short of building a time machine and swerving the disastrous reign of Mrs. May, there is little possibility of avoiding a no-deal Brexit.

annikin · 10/08/2019 19:05

I think a lot of leave supporters have no problem with a no deal brexit.

bristolianpielover · 10/08/2019 19:09

I've yet to see a leaver discuss a sensible solution to the NI issue if we don't have a backstop. But apparently it's all the EU and Ireland's fault for being difficult. I despair.

TabbyMumz · 10/08/2019 19:10

Perhaps no deal won't be so bad and we just need to get on with it.

KennDodd · 10/08/2019 19:14

Seems most people in NI would want a sm+cu Brexit even if was only for NI (65%)

KennDodd · 10/08/2019 19:16

That's a NI only sm+cu arrangement, border down the Irish sea. An even higher number support the whole of the UK having sm+cu.

Bettyboopityboop · 10/08/2019 19:17

Cancel Brexit.

The public was missold. Why can't we cancel this?

HerSymphonyAndSong · 10/08/2019 19:17

Sadly it’s not “The Will Of The People” if it’s not No Deal, Ken

KennDodd · 10/08/2019 19:28

Another thing to add is that's v 'no deal' most (60%+) in NI don't want Brexit at all.

bellinisurge · 10/08/2019 19:32

@KennDodd I get that. But my suggestion is better for NI than No Deal. NI should be designated a special economic area.

Wrong! It's exactly what Leave voters want and expect to happen as soon as possible, with or without a deal by the end of October.

It appears some remainers have a problem with comprehension. They lost the vote and it's time to stop the incessant whining.

BoneyBackJefferson · 10/08/2019 19:44

KennDodd

From there data there isn't a huge shift in numbers. its only when they exclude part of there sample that the numbers jump to 60+%

TabbyMumz · 10/08/2019 19:44

I do wonder what people will find to talk / argue about when it's all done and dusted.

newstart1337 · 10/08/2019 20:09

No I would not like to see the UK split up like that and I dont think people from N.Ireland would like violence to return if we did.

The backstop is dead it would be madness to bring it back a 4th time. All this angst trying to stop us leaving the EU is destroying the UK. Its to late to turn back, the people and parliament voted to leave so we need to leave the EU in October and start to bring the people of the UK back together.

S1naidSucks · 10/08/2019 20:12

I do wonder what people will find to talk / argue about when it's all done and dusted.

Don’t worry they can talk about the dead of NI, that will be as a result of the British border being reinstated in NI/Ireland. The leavers that know nothing about NI and care even less, can simply wash their hands of the whole lot of us and pretend that it has nothing to do with them.

bristolianpielover · 10/08/2019 20:13

@newstart1337 so without the backstop how do we prevent a hard border (and resulting risk of violence?)

mama345 · 10/08/2019 20:14

@Silverysurfer Leave voters aren't the majority. Even 3 years ago the referendum was one by a mere 4%, based on lies. With the insight that people have today, Leave wouldn't win again.
