To feel sorry for Meghan Markle - she looked lonely holding baby Archie at the Polo game

Did anyone else think Meghan Markle looked sad and lonely while holding baby Archie at Harry's polo game yesterday? There she was in the sunshine with her new baby while approx 2 metres away was her sister in law Kate completely wrapped up in her own children looking smug and not even glancing in poor Meghan's direction. There were loads of pictures taken and not one showed her chatting to Meghan or even looking at her, complete zero effort. The only ones who seemed to interact with Meghan and Archie were 1 year old Prince Louis and Harry when he finished the game! Kate is obviously not as sweet or friendly as she'd like the public to believe. Meghan gets so much criticism but she comes across as more down to earth and genuine.

the other Mums always made a point of letting their older children play together and coming over with their baby/toddler and chatting, giving me advice etc

While Megan seemed quite content holding her sleeping baby, Kate had three mobile dc to keep a constant eye on and entertain (while probably aware they were being photographed), you want to add to that entertaining and give sage advice to Megan?

They looked absolutely fine together in the few snaps published. Megan looks like I do when I have to pretend to watch ds play footie.

I like her dress, thought she looked lovely and happy too.

derxa · 11/07/2019 16:00

I do feel a bit sorry for her. She looks lost.

Starksforthewin · 11/07/2019 16:01

She reminded me of that episode of Friends where Rachel is holding Ben 'like a bomb' 😀
Looked like the first time she'd ever held a baby in her life.

Eliza9919 · 11/07/2019 16:04

It doesn't look like she's used to holding a baby, tbh.

Titsywoo · 11/07/2019 16:05

I'm honestly not one to care or bitch about the Royal Family/Meghan Markle etc but she was holding the baby very weirdly. Looked massively awkward.

didofido · 11/07/2019 16:06

Hasn't she heard of a baby-sling? She would have been far more comfortable.

As George gets older he looks uncomfortably like his greatx3 uncle the late unlamented Duke of Windsor. Let's hope it's only the looks he's inherited.

MerdedeBrexit · 11/07/2019 16:09

I dunno, maybe the poor woman couldn't get comfortable holding Archie whilst standing up because she's suffering from mastitis (I don't know if that would affect the way she holds the baby) or has painful stitches or a bad back or something?

topcat2014 · 11/07/2019 16:10

But Kate and Meghan are not SILs.

Kate is Harry's SIL.

I am sure they get on as fine as they need to.

heath48 · 11/07/2019 16:11

Sorry is not an emotion I would ever feel for Meghan Markle.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/07/2019 16:13

yanbu op, she looks utterly miserable. clearly all Kate's fault, i mean she's only got a mobile 1 yr old plus the older two to look after. She could have strapped Louis into a buggy and offered to hold Louis so poor Meghan could get some rest. Or left her three with the Nanny at home so she could properly be there for Meghan!

The only reason I feel sorry for Meghan is that she took her tiny baby out , was papped loads, and then has lots of ransoms on the internet picking over what she was wearing and whether she was happy or talking enough or whatever.

Give her a break! If they have any sense they will go to the US or Africa or somewhere asap

Mrsjayy · 11/07/2019 16:14

I say Dhs Sil is my Sil am I not supposed too Confused

TonTonMacoute · 11/07/2019 16:14

When you are a new mum with a very young baby at a social occasion, it’s very easy to be totally forgotten and left out - even if you are a member of the royal family, apparently.

DinosaursWouldEatYou · 11/07/2019 16:17

Erm there are pictures of Kate keeping her 3 children entertained, then another set of Prince George spending time with Meghan, and a couple of Meghan with a male friend/helper?

Stop being silly. Kate was busy keeping an eye on her active children whilst showing support to her husband, she wasn't snubbing anyone.

A sister in law is your spouse's sister or your sibling's wife.

DidItAgainOops · 11/07/2019 16:18

I do hope though that Archie wasn’t hatless the entire time.

Mrsjayy · 11/07/2019 16:22

Is this an extract from the new Jilly Cooper novel?

Winterlife · 11/07/2019 16:28

Teacakeandalatte, Markle was never a filmstar. She was a third rate actress on a cable television programme. She never did film work, AFAIK.

Nanny0gg · 11/07/2019 16:29

But Kate and Meghan are not SILs. Kate is Harry's SIL.

Of course they are!!

HippyTrails · 11/07/2019 16:29

She looked perfectly alright to me though you can't tell anything from a couple of photos.
