To feel sorry for Meghan Markle - she looked lonely holding baby Archie at the Polo game

Did anyone else think Meghan Markle looked sad and lonely while holding baby Archie at Harry's polo game yesterday? There she was in the sunshine with her new baby while approx 2 metres away was her sister in law Kate completely wrapped up in her own children looking smug and not even glancing in poor Meghan's direction. There were loads of pictures taken and not one showed her chatting to Meghan or even looking at her, complete zero effort. The only ones who seemed to interact with Meghan and Archie were 1 year old Prince Louis and Harry when he finished the game! Kate is obviously not as sweet or friendly as she'd like the public to believe. Meghan gets so much criticism but she comes across as more down to earth and genuine.

Maybe she was inwardly seething at being told she can't stay in to watch Wimbledon, but has to take the baby out to a polo match with the ILs, in order to provide the press pack with a 'happy families' photo op after a fortnight of grumbling about the christening secrecy?

@BlackCatSleeping yes that's the article I saw and I didn't see any photos of them talking and laughing together. Did you? It would have been nice if the media printed those pictures too if they exist.

You, along with most of MN were not there so actually how do you know what went on? From a few photos out of hundreds or thousands taken at one point in time that don’t actually show went on outside of that microscopic second the photo was taken

She’s taking her kid out. It’s roasting and she’s a new mum with hundreds of people sticking cameras in her face and talking about how her baby was probably born from a surrogate. It’s disgusting. Poor woman.

I think Kate was probably a bit preoccupied making sure her own three young children were safe and behaving themselves to give Meghan advice (what sort of advice would she need in that situation anyway?). Plus, if they aren't particularly close in private, why would this change just because they're out in public? I'm sure people would comment on how forced and inauthentic they looked in the pictures if they had spent the day chatting and laughing for the sake of the cameras.

Did you actually look at more than one photo. There were ones of Louis interacting with her, ones which looked like she & Kate were talking. Theres others where shes laughing and some with Harry.

I did, actually, feel quite sorry for her. She looked totally out of her depth/comfort zone - and the way she was clutching at her own 2 month old baby... it was like she was holding a ticking time-bomb, for crying out loud! She's his mother; there is no doubt that she loves Archie - but I don't think she's as "hands on" as they'd have us believe

Whereas Kate? Engaged with her three (older) children, kept an eye on the older two whilst entertaining the youngest... and there are photos of Kate smiling at Meghan, but as someone else said: Meghan was hiding behind her Hollywood sunglasses, so perhaps she didn't notice/respond/maybe the rumours are true.

My mother and aunt, who are sisters, married brothers. To get them within 50 miles of one another, these days, let alone in the same polo field would require the death of my grandparent. And perhaps not even then. Kate is going to be portrayed as holier-than-thou... because she's going to be our Queen one day; her son will one day be our King. Meghan, on the other hand, is married to the "spare" and gave birth to a child whom the Queen hasn't "gifted" a title to (I don't buy for one second that Meghan would have said "no" to an HRH for her child if it were offered...).

I do feel sympathy for her, though. Because maybe now the lustre is dulling enough for her to realise the dysfunctional family she's married into - something which we Brits have known for decades, but the Americans just don't seem to see...

I don’t feel sorry for her at all, she is rolling in it and money and status bring plenty of would be friends. Kate does a great job and three children do need to be looked after.

Maybe Meghan was wrapped up with her baby and poor Kate was the one feeling lonely and ignored and she wrangled her kids?

You can make up whatever narrative you want to fit a couple of paparazzi shots because we really have no idea about these women's lives.

Kate looked like a mum trying to keep track of 3 lively kids one only a toddler, trying to keep them roughly in one place - it was the Tupperware boxes than made me giggle, they obviously were having a picnic.

Meghan looks like every new mother to be honest - struggling with lack of sleep, massive lifestyle change and added to that she has the press etc on her case 24/7.

I'm not a massive Meghan fan but she's really getting it in the neck recently from a lot of sides and she actually seems really nice, despite all her family (dad's side) woes etc.

What struck me about the photos is how Charlotte is the absolute image of the Queen!

I feel sorry for her that no one told her not to wear that fugly dress. I know she's probably still carrying some baby weight, as is normal and expected, but that dress looked like it was about 10 sizes too big. And the color was hideous.

I've looked at the pictures and don't see even a hint of what you have said. Two families having a good day out in the sun is all I saw.
