They didn't have alcohol there, did they?

DangerousBeans · 20/07/2007 18:29

'Steaming drunk' as in falling over and singing 'Danny Boy'?
If so, I would be slightly less than gruntled.

SpacePuppy · 20/07/2007 18:30

driving? with your ds in the car? walking in traffic? VERY IRRESPONSIBLE!

EricGallagher · 20/07/2007 18:31

Did he sneak a bottle of vodka in with him?

Is your DS OK?

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 18:31

They did, and he has drunk most of it by the look of him!!!!!!!

OP posts:
FirenzeandZooey · 20/07/2007 18:34

That is fkn abysmal

they are not legally allowed to let your ds go home with him in his care if he is drunk, for a start

I would kick up a HUGE fuss

with the nursery, for having alcohol there
with the nursery, for allowing your ds to go home in the care of a drunk adult
with your dp, for being a wanker

EricGallagher · 20/07/2007 18:35

Tell us what happened Jazzi, is your DS OK?

coddy · 20/07/2007 18:35

hahaha
you miserable sods
we often haev nursery parties wiht wine
we are adults.....

coddy · 20/07/2007 18:36

you cna be done fro frunk in charge but i think you ahev to be absent from the kid or negletctful in some way

NotQuiteCockney · 20/07/2007 18:36

I really don't understand alcohol being at school or nursery events, particularly daytime ones.

To be fair, though, if Jazzicatz's DP can't keep himself sober in this sort of situation, I fear how he is the rest of the time.

coddy · 20/07/2007 18:37

oh we often have it at our rather posh priavet nursery one
kids are none the wiser./
we haev paretns socials

FirenzeandZooey · 20/07/2007 18:38

No cod, the nursery are not allowed to release the children in their care to an adult who is drunk

DoubleBluff · 20/07/2007 18:38

Holier than thou!
It's the last day of school let your ahir down.
Had a few gins myself!

FirenzeandZooey · 20/07/2007 18:39

Holier than thou? For thinking there is no place for alcohol at an event for children?

you're all fucking mad

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 18:39

Yes ds ok, but nursery have just phoned to make sure they got back ok because ds had been sick before coming home. Dp now asleep in bed!!!!!!

OP posts:
stoppinattwo · 20/07/2007 18:39

why would the nursery want to serve alcohol at a nursery party..........??

It is beyond me??

I presume it was for those leaving nursery.

What a good example to set

DangerousBeans · 20/07/2007 18:40

We used to have wine at our nursery events, but the adults were sensible enough to know that you're supposed to have just one glass, or maybe two if not driving.

Sounds like jazzicatz's DP saw it as an excuse to chug back the free alcohol, and get hammered.

Not terribly classy really.

FirenzeandZooey · 20/07/2007 18:40

Are you hacked off with the nursery jazzi, or just dp? Are you going to do anything about it?

stoppinattwo · 20/07/2007 18:40

Im with franny on this...completely thoughtless and irresponsible

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 18:41

I am actually really pissed off with dp and nursery. One of the teachers offered to drive dp and ds home because dp so hammered

greensleeves · 20/07/2007 18:41

I'd take a pretty dim view of this personally. I'd probably break his jaw. And flush his chess set down the john.

If they want to have a boozy adults' social session, they should arrange it in the evening when the children aren't there. Sending all the children home with tipsy parents is just weird.

DoubleBluff · 20/07/2007 18:41

Holier than thou not aimed at you F&Z overlapped posts wit you.
can' remebmber why I put it any way . Have inlaws here and am a bit tiddly.
