Wake him up at 5am tomorrow and get him to clean the loo with his toothbrush.

And then knee him in the balls.

NAB3 · 20/07/2007 19:06

Sometimes people need reminding, cod.

Pan · 20/07/2007 19:06

cod - Ithought there IS a specific charge of being drunk in charge of a child??

expatinscotland · 20/07/2007 19:07

How gets drunk the point of passing out these days?

Is he 19?

Mercy · 20/07/2007 19:07

It's also to some extent (moral) responsbility of the other adults to make sure he didn't drive home.

Obv. your dh has a lot to answer for but if you had a phone call from the nursery then the staff must have realised he was not fit to drive. And should have phoned you.

greensleeves · 20/07/2007 19:07

I am actually appalled that they let the child get into a car with a man who was sufficiently drunk that he passed out when he got home. This isn't some delicate ethical debating point, its a no-brainer. He could have fucking killed them both, or somebody else. Asshole.

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 19:08

No he is 36 and 18 stone - as I say he must have drunk a shed load.

OP posts:
MadEyemarthamooDy · 20/07/2007 19:08

I'd be livid. I'm not sure what I'd do if my dh ever drove while drunk - and if he did it with our children in the car...well, I'd be questioning whether I wanted to stay in a relationship with a man so completely irresponsible and selfish. And I'd be furious with a nursery who let him take a child while drunk - did they know he was driving?

Completely inexcusable behaviour.

Pan · 20/07/2007 19:08

just googled it - it is an offence.

Fireflyfairy2 · 20/07/2007 19:10

Wake the cunt up!

I'd say he must have been drunk before he picked ds up & the staff may not know him well enough to know he was drunk.

Although jazz did say a teacher offered to drive them home & another called to make sure they got home safely.

A matter of negligence in the nursery's case.

Just immaturity & fuckin stipidity on your dhs behalf.

Where were you Jazz?

NeverTickleASleepingSoupDragon · 20/07/2007 19:12

If he drove whilst drunk he is a w*nker regardless of anything else.

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 19:13

Hi sorry, just feeding the boys. Not sure what to do with dp, he was sober when he left at 2.00pm with ds, he was gone ages, and then rolled up at 6.00pm with ds and he could hardly stand up - having just spoken to nursery, I don't think they realised how drunk he was, but one of the staff offered to drive them home, but dp refused and drove them both back, the more I think about it the angrier I am!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Pan · 20/07/2007 19:13

just for info.

DangerousBeans · 20/07/2007 19:14

"I cannot believe he would drive home with our ds in the car".

If I knew anyone that was drunk and drove a car, I would report them to the police.

If they were drunk and drove a car with my children in it, I would report them to the police.

And they would be looking for somewhere else to live.

And possibly looking to locate their teeth.

I couldn't continue a relationship with someone who has so little regard for the safety of my child.

ggglimpopo · 20/07/2007 19:15

What are you going to do Jazzicat?

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 19:16

I really don't know - I was just thinking that!

OP posts:
Pan · 20/07/2007 19:16

or more specifically off that site...

"It is an offence to be drunk in charge of a child under 7 years old. "

Pan · 20/07/2007 19:17

don't wake him up, eh? What sense would you get out of him? Plan A sounds best.

Meanwhile you can think of a suitable punishment....

compo · 20/07/2007 19:18

des he drink to excess often?
that's four hours so he had loads of time to knock quite a bit back
I think having alcohol there was fine
It's the driving home it that is shocking

compo · 20/07/2007 19:18

does he often drink and drive?

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 19:19

Yes he does Compo! It is not something I condone.

OP posts:
compo · 20/07/2007 19:20

NeverTickleASleepingSoupDragon · 20/07/2007 19:21

He's a f-ing tw*t then.

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 19:21

Yes compo

OP posts:
compo · 20/07/2007 19:22
