Oooh definitely dont like drink driving. HUUUUUUUUUUUGE bug bear of mine.

If being drunk in charge of an under 7 year old is an offence, we'd best report half of MN on a Friday & Saturday night .

Crikey - it'd be lovely and quiet on here again.....

Jazzi - where were you? Why couldnt you go?

coddy · 20/07/2007 20:42

well yes i kind of getya there zooey.

have ben nbaniing rl dirnk drivers today so am prehaps a lettle jaded

Heathcliffscathy · 20/07/2007 20:43

you'll have to hang draw and quarter me as some of the loveliest times i've had since ds was born has been very merry at things that are for kids (eg, bday parties).

if he was pukingly legless that's awful.

if he was red faced and tipsy, i think you're just jealous.

Heathcliffscathy · 20/07/2007 20:44

ooops. he drove. case closed.

(even if only for the horrible experience that the child seeing him done by the police would be, let alone accidents etc)

Cammelia · 20/07/2007 20:44

And if he was committing the criminal offence of drink driving with the 4 year old sophable ?

Fireflyfairy2 · 20/07/2007 20:45

Oh yea, jealous that he drove whilt red faced & tipsy...

Fireflyfairy2 · 20/07/2007 20:45

apologies, I see you've only noticed the driving

coddy · 20/07/2007 20:45

sophable you are looking very slim today

Heathcliffscathy · 20/07/2007 20:46

thanks. you're looking good yourself.

coddy · 20/07/2007 20:46

he was ( as he was so legless ) charageable wiht durnk in charge of
btu odd the whoel thing is odd i bet you tehre is mroe to it

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/07/2007 20:48

I dont think its there is any point in haranguing Jazzi to report.

They need witnesses who will testify that he got in car and drove.

Will nursery act as witnesses for that, bearing in mind they entrusted the child to the father's care to allow him to do so? I dont think so......

So, lets leave Jazzi alone to contemplate just how noisy she's going to be when DP has a hangover in the morning

Cammelia · 20/07/2007 20:49

like what detective codster

oliveoil · 20/07/2007 20:50

hmmmmm

I wouldn't report him to the police tbh, he is your husband and I think working through it would be better tbh

I WOULD kick the shit out of him (verbally) in the morning

does he have a drink problem? (is the Pope......?)

sidge · 20/07/2007 21:04

Bloody hell I hope you don't live near me.

Wouldn't like to come across your DH driving home pissed. Might be me and my kids he kills or maims.

And by not reporting him to the police in effect you are condoning his twattery.

Difficult position to be in I know but think of the bigger picture rather than how you might be inconvenienced.

(And yes I would be having some serious words with him in the morning if I were you. And with the nursery staff.)

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 21:38

Can I just say that I hate drink drivers and have seriously thought about reporting him - do you think that is the best thing for me to do? Also if it wasn't dp's house then I would kick him out he owns it outright and my name is not on the deeds and we are not married so I am stuffed, not sure what to do

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 20/07/2007 21:40

I'd go to the local authority and declare myself homeless rather than live with him.

ggglimpopo · 20/07/2007 21:40

Jazzicatz - it is not your fault. I actually think he is a mindless idiot who needs help - not kicking out. And if you did leave him, he would be coming and picking up the kids and taking them out in his car and probably still bloody drinking, so that is not the answer.

I would tell him that - insert ultimatum of your choice that you would be prepared to carry through - unless he gets medical help for his drinking or al anon...

Desiderata · 20/07/2007 21:41

I find it hard to believe that a person can get that pissed at a nursery do.

There may have been alcohol, but there can't have been much. Not enough to get an 18 stone man pissed, even if he drank it all.

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 21:44

Well thats what I thought. I have been to a few of their functions and they usually have several bottles of cheap nasty wine that a few of the parents drink ie one glass, he must have taken a couple of bottles and necked them, which is just the kind of thing he would do!

OP posts:
moondog · 20/07/2007 21:44

Smugg;les alcohol into a children's do.
Jeezus, that makes it ten times worse (if such a thing is possible.)

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 21:45

He is still passed out - managed to get his kecks off and I think has just managed to have a piss, he is going to be in SOOOO much trouble tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Jenkeywerewolf · 20/07/2007 21:45

Jazzicat , I'm so sorry you have been through all of this today - I think ggglimpopo has some wise words and I hope things get easier for you.

Mercy · 20/07/2007 21:48

jazz, don't kick him out. Assuming this is one off. Or are there other things going on?

If it's a regular occurence then it is something that really should be addressed asap

Jazzicatz · 20/07/2007 21:51

Unfortunately it is not a one off - he often does it after work and he says he will be home in 10 minutes and I don't see him for hours. I hate him doing it, but I am especially angry becase this time he had my ds in the car.

OP posts:
berolina · 20/07/2007 21:54

I think I would report him.
