IME..it IS possible, but police like it nice and straight forwards...catching them..wouldn't be keen to arrest here..CPS would be hesitant was well.....

coddy · 20/07/2007 19:41

ye si knew it was
thast what i said.

coddy · 20/07/2007 19:43

you really shodul think very carefuly ebfore rining the poicce abotu your husband imo....

if oyu want to stay married.

whomovedmychocolate · 20/07/2007 19:44

I would have no hesitation in leaving my DH if I found out he'd knowingly put my DDs life in jeapourdy by driving, drunk. Strolling in tiddled after a long lunch and picking someone up from nursery if one (not good) thing, but driving FFS, criminal as well as criminally stupid.

What's next, leaving the kids outside the pub while he gets pissed?

You cannot risk your child's life if you ever think this will happpen again. Kick the low life bastard out.

coddy · 20/07/2007 19:45

lol was waitign for th e firt " divorce him "! shout
no " fo better for worse" on mn

edam · 20/07/2007 19:45

I think you should warn him, very forcefully that if he ever goes near the car again when he's drunk you WILL call the police. Make sure he knows you are serious.

NAB3 · 20/07/2007 19:46

Just discussed this with my hubby and my punsihment wouldn't be divorce. He wouldn't be allowed to drive the kids again.

coddy · 20/07/2007 19:47

pinishement =divocce?? mayeb it woudl be a treat!

NAB3 · 20/07/2007 19:48

Definitely not.

coddy · 20/07/2007 19:49

oh

LaDiDudleyDursley · 20/07/2007 19:50

I reported dp for drink driving about 5 years ago. Dialled 999 and described the car he was in and the route he was taking. He got a 9month ban and I was called as a witness at a Magistrates court.

The decision to ring them was the easiest I've ever mad. I loved him and didn't want him to kill himself or anyone else. I knew that our whole relationship was at risk but it was worth it.

It was hard for us afterwards but we are still together, very happy and he would never dream of doing it again.

edam · 20/07/2007 19:50

Yeah, it will look really, really funny in court when he wants to see his kids and Jazzi explains about the drink driving.

Cammelia · 20/07/2007 19:50

Jazzicatz knowing that your dp drinks and drives and not reporting him means you are morally complicit in his law breaking.

Your dp and ds could have been killed driving home from the nursery today because of your dp's drink problem.

Ask yourself how the "backfiring" from reporting him could possibly compare with that possibility?

moondog · 20/07/2007 19:56

Unforgivable

Silly fucker

Sorry. I realise this is an inappropriate response....but that sounds like one hell of a nursery presentation!

But no he was very very bad and shouldn't have driven.

stoppinattwo · 20/07/2007 20:25

Are you sure he is drunk, and not diabetic!!! i say again??

The only reason im asking is I cant believe someone would drink drive with a child in a car!!

whomovedmychocolate · 20/07/2007 20:27

Coddy are you on crack or something?

For better or worse? How about even if worse includes killing my kids?

Or yours?

She's not married anyway. He's a dipshit to do this and deserves the order of the boot?

coddy · 20/07/2007 20:29

he hasnt killed her kid s htough

lulumama · 20/07/2007 20:29

drink driving, and being so drunk he passed out would lead to bag packing and slinging out of said DP

not for good, but enough time for him to see what he could be missing if he crashed the car with the DCs in it,

or killed someone else

what an absolute fecking twunt

whomovedmychocolate · 20/07/2007 20:31

No, not yet Coddy. Are you in favour of giving him another go at it?

coddy · 20/07/2007 20:33

oh of couse i am

UCM · 20/07/2007 20:39

Oh, didn't see the bit about him driving back. Shameful.

Fireflyfairy2 · 20/07/2007 20:41

Think WMMC meant another go at killing the kids......

zookeeper · 20/07/2007 20:42

I thought that this was quite a funny thread until I got to the drink-driving bit.

Imagine for a second - he has a crash with your child in the car and kills your child and another parent's child.

I can see you at the inquest saying you knew he drove whilst drunk but didn't do anything because it might backfire on you.

Hide his keys until you an trust him not to do it again. If he does - report him to the police.
