Me,parents and ds 5 went out for an early dinner,we were asked for our order then told that all salads and hummus were off.
Dm is vegetarian and was really looking forward to one of the salads but she sucked it up and ordered a cheese sandwich, all good..so far.Server then came back and told me I couldn't have lettuce on my sandwich because of the salad situation,ok then.
Finally my sandwich came,I had ordered Turkey stuffing bacon and mayo.It came with no stuffing,no mayo but with bbq sauce which I dont like so I sent it back resulting in me eating alone as everyone else had finished.
The server came over and said they weren't going to charge me for my meal I replied well good because I didn't feel like paying for it,we've been messed about and you didn't get my order right! Am I an entitled bitch or is my reaction reasonable seeing as there was a lot off menu and then they got it wrong?

Waitress get paid (poorly) to feel with customers.

Deal with

What a thoroughly unpleasant view and thankfully, not shared by the majority.

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 20:44

've done my trip advisor review I'm good thanks

badly disappointed by the lack of veggie option in a toby carvery and fuming, raging, raning to have been offered the meal free and their apology.

That should put other people off Grin Grin Grin

Could you link to your review, OP, so we can all enjoy it?!

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:46

@Goldmandra exactly

Waitresses get paid to deal with customers but only the very worst sort of people thinks that means they are entitled to be rude to them.
Some people are showing their true colours. Hmm

Hefzi · 22/05/2019 20:47

As they say in Indiana Jones, "(You) choose unwisely!" - fair play to you, though, OP, for admitting it Grin

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:47

@Incognital nothing to enjoy unless you get your kicks from trip advisor which if you do u could start another thread about.

Grumpymug · 22/05/2019 20:48

You weren't U or rude until you said what you did to the server at the end. What was the point of saying it? It strikes me that your point was simply to humiliate someone, yes they are the face of the restaurant, and part of the job is to take the complaints when things go wrong and try within the bounds of what can physically be done, to put it right. That was done, and your meal removed from the bill because it was wrong. It sounds to me like you felt the need to have the upper hand, regardless of the fact what went wrong was addressed.
And your attitude shows through your posts here too with all the Hun and can I buy you a drink comments.
There was no need to say what you did, other than to make someone else feel crap.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:48

@Hefzi I agree Smile

As a vegetarian, I bloody love a Toby carvery, they do a fab veggie roast. But it's a Toby carvery, it's the cheap and easy option, YABU to expect anything other than very basic service and much attention paid to anything on the menu that isn't the carvery.

You're right that you shouldn't have had to pay for your meal, but you do sound like you're more upset about this than you need to be.

Pinkyponkcustard · 22/05/2019 20:49

I absolutely fancy a carvery now

ShesABelter · 22/05/2019 20:49

Sounds like shit service. Good you didn't need to pay but tbh Toby Carvery is shite anyway.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:49

@Grumpymug I genuinely didn't want to make anyone feel like shit but I definitely had to say something on this occasion.

OP posts:
Pinkyponkcustard · 22/05/2019 20:50

Yabu but you know that don’t you op?

No need to be unnecessarily mean to the wait staff.

What did your momma say?

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:50

@Shesabelter thanks. Are you northern by any chance?

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 22/05/2019 20:50

Well you said it op. Good for you. Made a min wage servers day a little bit more shit.

Go you.

ilovesooty · 22/05/2019 20:51

Perhaps her mother brought her up to be rude to ter people.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:52

@Pinkyponkcustard she thought I was being reasonable believe it or not, shed usually be the first one to have a go if thought I was being out of order.

OP posts:
DilliDingDillyDong · 22/05/2019 20:52

How incredibly obnoxious.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:52

@ilovesooty what utter bollocks

OP posts:
EdWinchester · 22/05/2019 20:53

I have never been to a Toby Carvery (are they regional?) but I think I would have pretty low expectations tbh.

No excuse for being rude to the server. Rarely their fault, so be dignified if you want to complain.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:53

@Bluntness I've explained myself a few times on here
