Me,parents and ds 5 went out for an early dinner,we were asked for our order then told that all salads and hummus were off.
Dm is vegetarian and was really looking forward to one of the salads but she sucked it up and ordered a cheese sandwich, all good..so far.Server then came back and told me I couldn't have lettuce on my sandwich because of the salad situation,ok then.
Finally my sandwich came,I had ordered Turkey stuffing bacon and mayo.It came with no stuffing,no mayo but with bbq sauce which I dont like so I sent it back resulting in me eating alone as everyone else had finished.
The server came over and said they weren't going to charge me for my meal I replied well good because I didn't feel like paying for it,we've been messed about and you didn't get my order right! Am I an entitled bitch or is my reaction reasonable seeing as there was a lot off menu and then they got it wrong?

Very rude. It’s not the servers fault that the branch didn’t have the full menu, and they also wouldn’t have been the one who made the sandwich so the mix up over your food wasn’t their fault either. You got an apology, you got your meal free and you still had to have a go? Not everything in life has to be big deal. It’s a bloody sandwich at a Toby Carvery - and you probably made someone feel like shit over it. Well done you.

SauvignonBlanche · 22/05/2019 20:30

As a former waitress in my youth, I have a very poor opinion of anyone being rude to a waitress.

BarnabasTheMaineCoon · 22/05/2019 20:30

Obviously not if you're still ranting away about a carvery on a huge site hours later, luv.

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 20:31

Why do you ask if you are so sure you were correct?

You won't, they apologised and didn't charge you. You were very rude.

slashlover · 22/05/2019 20:31

I normally do but I dont go out with my parents often and my mum wasnt left with much of choice tbh.

Was this the only restaurant in the area?

I'm veggie, went to a place that had run out of the dish I loved so I left and went somewhere else.

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 20:32

Blimey, if you feel the need to be so rude and unpleasant on this forum, I do feel sorry for the waiter.

myhamster · 22/05/2019 20:32

No OP, you spoke your mind, I don't think you were rude.

My friend had bad service at a chain place and sent her food back. They didn't charge her for the meal and she said something similar to you.

We did also thank them for sorting it out, but we were in there for 3 hours in total due to the fact that her meal was inedible and they had to cook something fresh and we all had to sit there waiting.

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 20:32

Quit with the ‘hun’ thing, it’s weird.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:32

@slashlover yes it was the only one in our area.My mum being happy is v important to me.

OP posts:
WalkofShame · 22/05/2019 20:33

a) why are you asking as you clearly know what you think
b) why do you keep saying 'hun'?

MissMary0fSweden · 22/05/2019 20:34

Well done, nowt like making a midweek prick of yourself.

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 20:34

You haven’t pissed me off, you’re just making yourself sound like a wanker.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:34

@myhamster thanks for a reasonable reply

OP posts:
BarnabasTheMaineCoon · 22/05/2019 20:34

Yeah, very important to you, so you took a vegetarian to a carvery. 0/10.

babysharkah · 22/05/2019 20:34

Why on earth would you go to Toby carvery and have a sandwich??

Bluntness100 · 22/05/2019 20:34

Why is it such a big deal over op going in for anything but a carvery

I'm guessing You've never been in a Toby carvery then? The reason there was no salad is likely because in the history of the chain no human being has ever asked for one. 🤣

What's with all the "huns" . I'm assuming you're very annoyed and think this might wind people up or something? It just makes you sound unhinged.

Goldmandra · 22/05/2019 20:34

What did you achieve by being rude to someone who was acknowledging that the service was poor and had volunteered that you wouldn't be charged?

Did you think he/she hadn't got the message already or does speaking your mind give you a little power trip?

I think you just wanted to come on here and give the restaurant chain some public negative feedback, which was rather unnecessary, seeing as they have admitted they got something wrong and made amends without even being asked. I think they come off rather better than you do.

Lllot5 · 22/05/2019 20:34

You can tell a lot about a person based on how they treat waiters/ waitresses.
Could have just said oh ok thanks

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:35

@Trendy eh? I wasnt just hangry I was pissed off because my mums choice was limited as I've said further down the thread hth.

OP posts:
SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:36

@Lllot why should I not say anything though?

OP posts:
DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 20:36
