Me,parents and ds 5 went out for an early dinner,we were asked for our order then told that all salads and hummus were off.
Dm is vegetarian and was really looking forward to one of the salads but she sucked it up and ordered a cheese sandwich, all good..so far.Server then came back and told me I couldn't have lettuce on my sandwich because of the salad situation,ok then.
Finally my sandwich came,I had ordered Turkey stuffing bacon and mayo.It came with no stuffing,no mayo but with bbq sauce which I dont like so I sent it back resulting in me eating alone as everyone else had finished.
The server came over and said they weren't going to charge me for my meal I replied well good because I didn't feel like paying for it,we've been messed about and you didn't get my order right! Am I an entitled bitch or is my reaction reasonable seeing as there was a lot off menu and then they got it wrong?

@antigonads your situation is different, you didn’t get your food. Op still are hers and then was a rude cow when told she wouldn’t be charged for it 🤷🏻‍♀️ OP the response you were looking for was ‘thanks, it’s appreciated that you recognise the issues we’ve had’ no need to be hoity toity about it.

Though I’m seriously flabbergasted that you went to a carvary and didn’t have a carvary. I mean Yorkshire puddings and roast tatties ffs!

NoBaggyPants · 22/05/2019 20:23

You're one of those people that thinks demeaning staff in front of people makes you look smart aren't you?

Whereas actually everyone's cringing at you playing up again...

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:23

@hercule I normally do but I dont go out with my parents often and my mum wasnt left with much of choice tbh.

I think you were quite rude but I'm not surprised they took the price of the meal off as it sounds a bit of a shambles. I doubt it was the waiter's fault though.

BarnabasTheMaineCoon · 22/05/2019 20:23

FFS, who goes to Toby's for a fucking salad? It's a carvery. It's shit if you're not eating that (and shit if you are). They didn't charge you. Move on.

itsabongthing · 22/05/2019 20:23

My mind is blown that you went to Toby Carvery for anything other than a carvery. I didn’t even know they did other stuff.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:24

@Barnabas I'm moved on hun

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 20:24

You were rude in your reply. They’d already acknowledged the errors and corrected it by not charging you.

Bluntness100 · 22/05/2019 20:24

What exactly is the point in posting if you're adamant you were right to sound off to the serving staff after they comped your meal.

Clearly your view of what's rude and everyone else's is very different.

And who goes to a Toby carvery for salad and sandwiches.

Chanteuse · 22/05/2019 20:25

Former waitress here: YABVU

They had already rectified the mistake. They are not responsible for ordering missing ingredients or even making sure your food is right - that's the kitchen's job. Even in terms of sorting out a refund, that's the manager's job. So when you said "surely asking for the manager would be worse"... Actually, no. Because it's their job to deal with complaints, not Jenny who is on £7 an hour Hmm

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 20:25

What’s with all the ‘huns’ you’ve asked for people’s opinions and you’re getting them.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:25

@Holes ye swings and roundabouts, some peoples passionate replies are amusing though

OP posts:
Travis1 · 22/05/2019 20:25

Thus the 3 pages of arguing GrinHmm

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 22/05/2019 20:25

Your were advised that all salads etc... were off so why did you then assume lefties would be included in your sandwich Confused

Stuffing could have ran out, but they should have advised you of this, as with the BBQ sauce, which I find hard to believe due to food allergies regulations

However the server isn’t at fault they don’t buy the produce, and also don’t make the food!

YABU!

Tevion10 · 22/05/2019 20:25

Why is it such a big deal over op going in for anything but a carvery. If it's on the menu then not odd.

Hwory · 22/05/2019 20:27

So the server came over and resolved your complaint without you having to complain and you still decided to have a go?

People like you are why I work behind a computer and not face to face anymore.

CarolDanvers · 22/05/2019 20:28

@SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc I am convinced that had you posted an account of this meal but leaving out your response to the waitress, people would have been calling over themselves to describe how strenuous and vocal they'd have been in their complaints.

Passthecherrycoke · 22/05/2019 20:28

I don’t really understand what the OP said that was so rude tbh. “Well good because I don’t feel like paying”? It’s hardly fuck off wanker is it?

CustardCreamLover · 22/05/2019 20:28

Why ask if you don't want someone to agree you were rude? I spent far too long serving people exactly like you and if I had my way you'd be banned.

taylorlynn · 22/05/2019 20:28

Well not good service by them tbh but no where near bad enough to have a rant and rage on here about it

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:29

@Hwory I just agreed with the serving staff I didn't have a go

OP posts:
scarbados · 22/05/2019 20:29

It wasn't the servers fault they'd run out of stuff. Tde server apologised and you weren't charged. But you still went off on one at the server?

First grade bitch. And then some.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/05/2019 20:29

@Passthecherrycoke can I buy you a drink?

OP posts:
CarolDanvers · 22/05/2019 20:30

Where is OP "ranting and raging"? Confused
