Frasier Was Better Than Friends

Niles with baby the bird stuck on his head. Niles setting fire to Frasier's apartment. Niles scoring from the halfway line. Kelsey Grammer's wonderful overacting. The lovely autumnal colours. The clever dialogue. The list goes on

Niles and Daphne were better than Ross and Rachel.

Aibu? No I'm not 😀

Frasier is better than any other sitcom! YADNBU

IWantMyHatBack · 03/05/2019 23:55

Nope. Incorrect. Grin

Unfinishedkitchen · 03/05/2019 23:55

YANBU,

HelenaDove · 03/05/2019 23:56

I love the episode where Martins chair fell off the balcony and hit the pavement right in front of Martin and Daphne as they were coming back to the flat.

DizzyPhillips · 03/05/2019 23:56

I loved Friends but nothing has come close to Frasier. Modern Family being the nearest and I’m sure that’s the same people.

Passthecherrycoke · 03/05/2019 23:57

Oh yes, no doubt. Fraiser was genius

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 03/05/2019 23:57

YANBU.
That said, I’ll watch reruns of Friends more often just because it’s like an extra bank holiday for the brain. It requires no thought to sit in front of. Grin

IWantMyHatBack · 03/05/2019 23:58

The pathetic egos. The narcissism. The mysoginy. The male-heavy cast that judged every single women they ever encountered

(yeah, I know friends wasn't great, but at least they were all equally flawed. Except Ross. He was a cunt)

BarbarianMum · 03/05/2019 23:58

About 1,000 times better.

Notanidiot · 03/05/2019 23:59

OP you can mention Niles as many times as you like. He was the best character in that show.

And yes Frasier beats Friends hands down.

DioneTheDiabolist · 04/05/2019 00:00

YANBU OP. Frasier was far superior.

DizzyPhillips · 04/05/2019 00:00

Two things I would say about Frasier though. Firstly, it went downhill after Niles and Daphne got together. Secondly, much as I love Niles, he was a bastard to Mel and would rightly be given dogs abuse on here.

e1y1 · 04/05/2019 00:00

Yes!!!!! Love Frasier and watch it most mornings as never at work at that time.

Was never really in to Friends.

EdWinchester · 04/05/2019 00:01

Agreed. No comparison really.

Curb your enthusiasm has come close.

SrSteveOskowski · 04/05/2019 00:03

Frasier is/was the best US comedy ever.

The ski lodge episode never fails to have me laughing out loud Grin

bettytaghetti · 04/05/2019 00:04

Best line ever. Frasier: "How can men use sex to get what they want. Sex IS what they want"! Grin

DizzyPhillips · 04/05/2019 00:05

We need a frasier quotes thread 🤔

bettytaghetti · 04/05/2019 00:07

My user name is also a nod to when Daphne was introduced to Eddy by Martin.
M: "This is Eddy Spaghetti"
D: "Does he like pasta?"
M: "No, he has worms"

EdWinchester · 04/05/2019 00:08

I love the episode with the Niles silent scene at the start where he’s getting ready for a date. Pure gold.

YemenRoadYemen · 04/05/2019 00:09

Frasier was fabulous, but as a young 20-something in the 90s, Friends was it for me.

Bunnylady53 · 04/05/2019 00:12

Frasier is Comedy Gold. I must have missed something in Friends as I never thought of Ross as being as bad as others seem to

SwedishEdith · 04/05/2019 00:13

Oh, god, Frasier is still fabulous. I can watch 2 episodes before work every day at the moment.

MrsDeltaB · 04/05/2019 00:14

Derail comment here but to PP, if you like modern family please try Life In Pieces, even more bonkers but relatable!

Janus · 04/05/2019 00:15

Bloody loved Frasier!! I actually had a little weep when Marty Crane died in real life last year!! They were both terrible snobs but that’s what made it work!
The only bit I actually didn’t like is when Daphne’s family came to stay, they were all awful but especially the guy who played her brother who is in ‘without a trace’, that accent haunts me!!
Such clever writing, I seem to catch it once in a while on holiday and can’t walk away from an episode!

TheValeyard · 04/05/2019 00:28

I love both Frasier and Friends, but I think Frasier has stayed fresher, and is more rewarding to to watch.

I still can't help but smile when I think of "romping with my schoolchums through the fens and spinneys", or the necessity of "a strong judiciary" to keep the wine club in check.
