Beer Fear - WTF do I do?!

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 11:25

Posting for traffic, and looking for guidance as to what I should do as I'm in no fit state to make a sensible decision.

Have name changed too as I don't want to out myself.

Got massively drunk last night, not proud of it & paying the price this morning although truth be told I still feel pissed.

Must have text an old 'acquaintance' last night... cut contact months ago as I fell for him (I know, I know) and despite him getting in touch several times I've just ignored him.

Changed phones and deleted his number in fact, so the temptation hasn't been there.

Anyway, wake up this morning to a text message from him asking who it is... wtf do I do?! Got proper beer fear and scared to even open the message and read what I must have sent him last night. I was transferring photos from my old phone yesterday and came across his number so it can't just be a coincidence :-(

Do I ignore, or own it and admit who it is? Read the message or just straight delete (and block so there's no repercussions)!

Tbh it did sting a bit to read him asking who it is but we've never ever text before so he can't have my number stored and he'd have known who it was over messenger or WhatsApp.

Please tell me what to do!

Ha ha. It's quite a sweet message

Theninjawhinger · 27/04/2019 15:26

I LOVE this thread! I want him to reply and for you to get married and live happily ever after!

Also, have you got some Diet Coke? Every hang over needs Diet Coke!

SouthernComforts · 27/04/2019 15:29

You need a nap. Wake up at 5 and order pizza.

Theninjawhinger · 27/04/2019 15:29

Ps and to make you feel better, the last big night out I had was with my ex’s sister in law. I called him crying, saying I missed him and I wanted to go home. He felt he had to ring the manager of the bar I was in to get them to order me a taxi and put me in it. By this point I had recovered from my emotions and was dancing on the aforementioned bar with his sister in law wondering what all the fuss was about Blush

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 15:34

@NeverTalksToStrangers that is so true, and thanks for helping me see sense!

I'm laying here feeling like shit thinking all sorts of what he's up to making him unable to reply, mad I know.

@Theninjawhinger I'll be celebrating getting a reply at this rate! But if it gets anywhere remotely near a wedding an invite will be winging its way to you! 😁

Pepsi Max or Coke Zero in the fridge. Literally cannot muster the energy to move.

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 15:38

I second the nap.

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 15:44

I third it. Off for a snooze.

Will report back later.

Thanks everyone for the handhold and encouragement! I just really really really hope he replies 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've got everything crossed for a happy ending here!

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/04/2019 15:53

Well done for sending the message. You’re never going to know how he feels if you don't open up! Up to this point you were choosing not to have a relationship with him. Now it’s time to find out if he’d like one with you. If he says no you’re actually no worse off than you were yesterday before you found out... and I could argue you’d actually be better off because now you could properly seek closure. So I think acting on your feelings is only positive.

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 16:00

HE'S REPLIED! 🎉🎉🎉

He said he didn't know who it was as my number didn't come up, he's been asleep in his new king size bed and that he hopes my head isn't hurting too much.

I feel like writing does he fancy company in his bed haha but you guys have kept me on the right track so far so I'd welcome your thoughts on best to reply. I need to keep it cool. Chuffed he replied though 😁

OP posts:
NeverTalksToStrangers · 27/04/2019 16:03

He totally wants you to see his bed.

Roussette · 27/04/2019 16:04

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, so I would reply..

'Head slowly recovering! I sometimes look back at the fun times we had (that's my excuse for sending the drunken text last night!) How's it all going with you?'

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 16:05

Hmm. The bed thing could be reaching. It’s a bit cringey but we’ll allow it. 😉

He hasn’t left the door too open, but he hasn’t told you to fuck off either!

Holidayshopping · 27/04/2019 16:06

The bed comment was rather pointed!

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 16:06

Head slowly recovering! I sometimes look back at the fun times we had (that's my excuse for sending the drunken text last night!) How's it all going with you?'

Noooooo don’t say that about looking back at the fun times!!!! Especially as you were fuck buddies!

Roussette · 27/04/2019 16:07

I'm a bit out of touch Ivana, you're right Grin

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 16:12

😂😂

Sexnotgender · 27/04/2019 16:14

Oh the bed comment is enticing you!

He could’ve just said he’d been asleep but he didn’t. I think you need to see if he feels the same.

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 16:16

OK so to summarise what I sent, apologised saying I hope I didn't wake him... I feel like death and gone back to bed to recover. Would be more fun together though..!

His reply I think will tell me what I need to hear... god I'm praying he doesn't have a girlfriend 🤞🏼

OP posts:
KitNCaboodle · 27/04/2019 16:16

He’s definitely reaching with the bed comment. The door has been nudged open. Repeat. The door has been nudged open.

KitNCaboodle · 27/04/2019 16:17

Cross posts there, OP. Fingers crossed

IvanaPee · 27/04/2019 16:20

Eeeek you really went for it! Love it.

🤞 🤞 🤞

GotTheBeerFear · 27/04/2019 16:20

He said I never message him but it's always better together.

Help!

Will I sound mental if I ask if he's met anyone?

amillionwishes · 27/04/2019 16:20

I am so invested in this thread OP, please keep us updated I've got my fingers crossed for you!

amillionwishes · 27/04/2019 16:22

Oohh crossed posts... I'd ask if he was free for a catch up this week or something, don't go straight for bed talk or you'll end up back in the fuck buddy scenario
