To ask what you actually carry round in your 'day' bag?

Just that really, things for the commute or general stuff you need in the day?
I always seem to massively over pack mine and then never use anything, or unpack it and miss out key items 🤦🏼‍♀️

Phone and debit card in a pocket, on top of change. Water bottle in one hand.

BlueSkiesLies · 26/04/2019 18:49

Phone. Keys. Wallet. Little pack of tissues if I have a cold.

There is no need to anything else! Leave your water bottle and coffee cup at work.

MsVestibule · 26/04/2019 18:50

I carry a small plastic zipped bag (roughly 6"x4", from Boots I think) which contains things like a packet of tissues, tissues, a tampon, paracetamol, lipstick, nail file, pen etc) which I can transfer from bag to bag easily.

Apart from that, my purse and phone. What else would you need?

bumble270 · 26/04/2019 18:50

What about keys?

OP posts:
bumble270 · 26/04/2019 18:52

Camera, kindle, notebook, battery pack for phone, pens, small notebook, penknife, umbrella, hankies, usb lead, purse.

If I'm in work I'll have lunch in there, if going out with DS maybe drinks, snacks and wet wipes. And toys.

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 26/04/2019 18:53

Phone, keys, purse, earphones, hairbrush, lip balm, small perfume, tissues, power bank and cable, ibuprofen, pen, water bottle, hairbands, gloves or sunglasses and small sun cream (I'm very pale and a bit ginger), more receipts than anyone needs. I also frequently carry a tape measure which DH thinks is ridiculous but has been useful.

When I'm going to work I also carry a few bits of make up, notebook, mini hand sanitizer and my laptop backpack with all my work stuff in. This is my handbag not the nappy bag which has a ridiculous array of things in it at any one time

motherheroic · 26/04/2019 18:54

Hand cream, hand gel, lip balm, music player, earphones, debit card, book on serial killers.

tierraJ · 26/04/2019 18:54

Wallet, phone, make up purse with powder compact, lipstick, lip balm, concealer, pen, chewing gum, floss; tissues, keys, spare plastic carrier bag, sunglasses, umbrella, glasses wipe.

AnnieMay100 · 26/04/2019 18:55

Butchyrestingface · 26/04/2019 18:55

Phone and debit card in a pocket, on top of change. Water bottle in one hand.

My admiration knows no bounds. I am a more is more kinda girl.

So... toiletries bag with some make up and the contents of my entire medicine cabinet; purse; hairbrush; a pen or 20; kindle; stainless steel water bottle; work diary; keys; tote bag; umbrella if I can remember.

I must be forgetting at least 20 items.

DontLook · 26/04/2019 18:55

bumble270 · 26/04/2019 18:56

@ZippyBungleandGeorge that's very much what I'm like but I would like to reduce hefty ness of the bag if possible, I take it all out and then wish I hadn't when I'm stuck out all day

OP posts:
DollyPomPoms · 26/04/2019 18:56

Penknife?

Dollywilde · 26/04/2019 18:56

Purse, oyster/work pass holder, make up, mini hairbrush, hair ties, pen, paper, keys, umbrella, business cards, spare phone charger, 2 x iPhones (work + personal), perfume.

moosesormeece · 26/04/2019 18:57

Phone, charger, wallet, pack of tissues, diary, collection of pens, archives detailing (in receipt form) everything I've bought in the past 6 months.

SomewhereInbetween1 · 26/04/2019 18:58

I don't carry a bag anymore 😊 I found the additional weight of even an empty bag was too much on my back day in and day out, so now I have a phone case with slots for my debit card and driver's license, and my keys go in my other pocket. All sorted!

Summersunsareglowing · 26/04/2019 19:01

Do you mean in my handbag which goes everywhere with me?

Purse with change in it;
Aluminium RFID-blocking wallet with cr & dr cards;
Keys;
RFID-blocking pouch with car keys in it;
Mobile phone;
Pen(s);
Tissues;
Make-up bag;
Epi-pen;
Travel shoe horn;
Vaseline (didn't know that was there) Shock;
Sunglasses

Sometimes it is so heavy though and it isn't as if I refresh my make-up (except lipstick).

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/04/2019 19:01

Wallet. Phone. Keys. String bag for shopping. Mini mirror. Lipstick. Tissues. Powder papers. Old lady rain hat. About 18 million pens.

BollocksToBrexit · 26/04/2019 19:02

My MIL has everything in her, not particularly large, handbag. I suspect she may be the real Mary Poppins. Wherever we are, as soon as anyone needs/wants something she'll pull it out of her handbag.

spaniorita · 26/04/2019 19:02

Too flippin much!! I have my work bag with laptop, notepad, pencil case, charger, work phone, papers, security pass etc, and I also have my "own bag" which has my lunch, my travel mug, water bottle, makeup bag, umbrella, keys, phone, book, hair brush, and a not-all-that-small toiletries bag which includes other bits I might need like deodorant, body spritz, sanitary products as my period is so random on the implant I never know when I might need it.

It's bloody ridiculous lugging it all about but I have to hot desk from a commuter hub and don't have the luxury of secure storage so I plod on.

managedmis · 26/04/2019 19:03

Purse
Phone

Random stuff the kids have given me

Vulpine · 26/04/2019 19:04
