Just that really, things for the commute or general stuff you need in the day?
I always seem to massively over pack mine and then never use anything, or unpack it and miss out key items 🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
reluctantbrit · 26/04/2019 20:50

Handbag - phone, purse, kindle, keys incl. for work, tissues, Oyster card

Large tote on my workdays with water bottle, some food like yoghurt and fruit, umbrella

mirime · 26/04/2019 20:53

You're all reminding me of the things I forgot I had. To add to my previous list:

Lip balm (usually two)
Headphones
Inhaler (don't need it, I had an allergic reaction once and have been too worried to take it out of my bag since)
Betablockers
Paracetamol and/or ibuprofen
Spare mini SD card plus adapter to make it standard sized
Hair elastics
Some zippy sandwich bags
Shopping bag
Tea bags
Smaller bag which has my keys, phone and purse in
Plasters
Gloves
A second notebook

I think that's it. It's a backpack, my shoulder couldn't cope anymore!

mirime · 26/04/2019 20:57

Oh, hang on, forgot my comb. And sanpro. Sometimes a cardigan.

And the penknife mentioned before is actually a Swiss army knife, and full of useful things itself - screwdriver, can opener, tweezers, scissors and so on.

Ohhellothereladyface · 26/04/2019 20:59

Phone, keys, purse, packet of tissues.
DD has a changing bag packed full of all sorts

RainbowMum11 · 26/04/2019 20:59

Pens, tissues, purse, phone, a billion old receipts, bag for life in case I need to pick anything up, hair bobbles, keys, sometimes some colouring stuff for DD just in case.

Sensory toys for 4 year old

SophiaLarsen · 26/04/2019 21:04

LostPlatypus · 26/04/2019 21:06

It completely depends on what I'm doing and how long I'll be out for, but in my handbag atm:

wallet (including various cards and cash, usually stamps too)
keys
reusable carrier bag
tissues
meds
umbrella (forgot to take it out)
hand gel
pen
scrap paper
phone
lip balm
Autism Alert Card
SHO bottle

MagicKeysToAsda · 26/04/2019 21:07

1 zip pouch with house keys, car key, phone, work ID fob, headphones
1 zip pouch with purse, inhaler, other meds, a plaster, a pen and small notebook
Seasonal: either hat and gloves, or sunglasses, sun cream and bug repellant
Cotton shopping bag
1 zip pouch of sensory/therapeutic stuff for DD (fiddle toy, bubbles, stickers, chewy bracelet, colouring stuff)
If DD is with me, her water bottle and her book too.

Violetroselily · 26/04/2019 21:09

Too much.

My every day bag for work contains: phone purse, keys, umbrella, notebook, mirror, tissues, make up bag, deodorant, perfume, tampons oyster cars holder, ibuprofen, usually some sort of snack and lots of other bits of nonsense that I rarely need.

At weekends I usually manage with my phone, keys, purse, oyster card, tissues and a mirror

Bouledeneige · 26/04/2019 21:15

Purse, phone, pen, tissues, make up bag. Sometimes a pad/laptop.

BobBobBobbingAlong · 26/04/2019 21:19

I'm a 'mobile worker' or whatever the jargon is this week so I don't even have the luxury of hotdesking.
I carry everything in my small backpack as it's too much effort to pack and repack for the days when I know I'll have a place to plug in my laptop and the days when I have to work off a battery pack.
All those things that used to live in my office drawer like tissues, paracetamol, blister plasters and sanpro now live on my back.

Phillipa12 · 26/04/2019 21:33

At the moment,
Keys
Purse
Mobile phone
Ibuprofen/calpol sachet/hearing aid batteries
Pen
2 power rangers dino chargers and a small plastic gorilla.

Chocolatekitty · 26/04/2019 21:34

Purse, keys, shopping bag, phone, spare battery pack, earphones, a pouch containing painkillers, antihistamines, plasters, a pad and the 'emergency' money I keep in there in case my purse is stolen. A pen or two, a packet of tissues, and on a work day, my lunch.

I've never quite figured out how people manage with teeny-tiny bags, but then, those are always the people I seem to provide with paracetamol or a tissue...

summerevenings2019 · 26/04/2019 21:35

Phone, earphones, anti bac gel, medication (paracetamol, feminax etc), money/cards.

Taswama · 26/04/2019 21:39

Phone
Purse
Sandwich
Fruit
Tissues
Brolly
Random paperwork I plan to deal with at work
Work pass
2 cloth bags for shopping
Keys

If I’m not going to work then phone, purse and keys is enough.

audweb · 26/04/2019 21:42

HEadphones, phone, charger, make up ( basic cover up), water bottle, notepad, pens, keys, purse, kindle, laptop if working. I travel on the train a lot for work cross country so I like to be prepared for entertaining myself doing work and charging my phone!

Newmumma83 · 26/04/2019 21:44

Over the years I have gone from carrying everything around, to whittling it down and back again. If I am just popping to shop, just phone purse and keys, otherwise the full works, but in a fairly small bag. Depends where I am going really.

Livpool · 26/04/2019 21:45

Inhaler
Make up bag with about 10 lip glosses and blusher
Various broken Kinder Egg toys
Receipts from the last month
Spare tampon
Painkillers
Antihistamine (various at the moment)
Tissues
Phone
Earphone
Purse
Work pass

borntobequiet · 26/04/2019 21:49

For some years I carried a small adjustable spanner. It came in useful on a couple of occasions...but someone nicked it about 15 years ago and I haven’t bothered since.

Wholetthekidsout · 26/04/2019 21:51
