And if it is are you looking forward to 29th?

OP posts:
Songsofexperience · 19/03/2019 22:37

I'd say the real problem is we still don't know what "this" is...

RJnomore1 · 19/03/2019 22:38

I don’t think anyone voted for this and as far as I’m aware the request to extend is going in so nothing to look forward to or dread on 29th? Am I wrong?

CheshireChat · 19/03/2019 22:55

I'm a remainer so not really helpful, but what is going on, what's likely to happen on the 29th really?

Colourpencils · 19/03/2019 22:57

None of the scenarios look good let's face it...I'm still praying that TM will hand in a letter revoking A50 at 10.45pm on 29th March, announce her resignation simultaneously and go and live out her days walking in the Austrian Alps with Philip!

longwayoff · 19/03/2019 23:00

I don't know. I've seen so many posts in the past from Leavers insisting that they voted for no customs union, and they always knew the country would be poorer, that "they need us more than we need them" and the car industry packing up and leaving was of no significance etc., all project fear propaganda from remainers that I'm wondering if all this apparent confusion is yet more of the marvellous Leave plan that they're all so familiar with? And whether they still like it.

OP posts:
CheshireChat · 19/03/2019 23:03

I'd like a dummy's guide to what the hell is going on with Brexit, please.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 19/03/2019 23:05

YABVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVU to start yet another thread aimed at riling people up to leavers any combination or variations of the following: selfish, racist, murderers, uneducated, thugs and so on. Don't hide behind the I just want 1 leaver to tell me why crap either, I and many others have done this many times over and whatever we say, you don't want to hear -note I say, hear, not agree I don't expect remainers to agree with me-- what we have to say. You just want to enjoy everyone joining you to lay into us.

It has been done to death It is Boring It is Bullying HTH OP

NO LEAVER VOTED FOR THE CURRENT SHIT SHOW. THE COMPLACENT REMAINERS CAMERONWHO FAILED TO EVEN CONSIDER A LEAVE VOTE, LET ALONE PLAN FOR ONE, BROUGHT US HERE

HennyPennyHorror · 19/03/2019 23:07

Cheshire this explains things as they currently stand very simply.

Ewitsahooman · 19/03/2019 23:07

Brexit: imagine if your DC and 27 of his classmates pooled their Lego and built a huge continuous model for several years. Then one day, one of them wants to leave and would like all of their Lego back. Specifically, all the blue ones.

KennDodd · 19/03/2019 23:07

I predict Leavers will come on claiming their Brexit would have been beautiful, sunlit uplands, and that politicians/remainers/immigrants/EU have messed it up. The reality is, that the problem is Brexit and this mess is exactly what they voted for.

HennyPennyHorror · 19/03/2019 23:08

World your post seems more bother than the OP's. All that underlining and capitalisation. Calm down. Don't come on the thread if you don't like it. It's a free forum and OP can post about this if she or he wants to.

CheshireChat · 19/03/2019 23:10

Hah, bit rich to grumble about bullying when all I've heard is 'we've won, deal with it's.

Also, before it was (sorta) clarified what's going to happen with the EU nationals in the UK, there were quite a few posters who were perfectly blasé about families being potentially torn apart and people being worried about it.

KennDodd · 19/03/2019 23:10

Oh look there you go up thread, I was right already.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 19/03/2019 23:10

Unless you are an evil, gammon 'leaver' eh, Henny?

NO LEAVER VOTED FOR THE CURRENT SHIT SHOW. THE COMPLACENT REMAINERS CAMERONWHO FAILED TO EVEN CONSIDER A LEAVE VOTE, LET ALONE PLAN FOR ONE, BROUGHT US HERE

I agree with you right there and I voted Remain.

Cameron instigated the vote with no forethought or plan and then fucked off.

May instigated Article 50 with no forethought or plan and then repeatedly fucked up.

No matter which way the government now decides to jump they will piss off a huge proportion of people.

As a nation we look like absolute dickheads being led by Queen 'difficult woman' Dickhead.

It really is a shitshow.

Ewitsahooman · 19/03/2019 23:12

The realities and legalities of leaving should have been investigated as far as possible before the referendum was held.

CheshireChat · 19/03/2019 23:13

HennyPennyHorror thank you, that's a great article that I must've missed!

KennDodd · 19/03/2019 23:14

NO LEAVER VOTED FOR THE CURRENT SHIT SHOW

Who did vote for it then? You voted for something undefined with no plan for implementation and no consideration of NI.

badlydrawnperson · 19/03/2019 23:17

Yes op this is exactly what I voted for and I am looking forward to 29th. Any further questions?

wherearemychickens · 19/03/2019 23:17

One Leave voter I know said the day afterwards, "Oh, can't we all just stop talking about this now?"

Um, no, this is all we will be talking about for years, and years, and years, particularly if May somehow manages to get the deal through. We haven't even started the tough bit of the negotiations yet, where we need to start making actual decisions about trade.

pootyisabadcat · 19/03/2019 23:19

NO LEAVER VOTED FOR THE CURRENT SHIT SHOW

So what exactly did they vote for?

CheshireChat · 19/03/2019 23:24

I do wonder if some Leave voters would've changed their minds simply if they saw the mess right now.

trancepants · 19/03/2019 23:26

I don’t think anyone voted for this and as far as I’m aware the request to extend is going in so nothing to look forward to or dread on 29th? Am I wrong?

There are 7 days in which the HoC will sit before Brexit day. 7. They still have not requested an extension, nor have they decided on what type of extension to ask for or for what reason. The EU has said that the options for an extension are very limited, due to the upcoming EU elections, and it has to be for a specific reason, not just to delay and still end up in the same place in May/late 2020. All 27 countries in the EU must agree to the extension and Kawzynski/Farage/etc have spent the last few months lobbying Italy, Poland and Hungary to deny any extension. You are as likely to crash out as you are to extend.

longwayoff · 19/03/2019 23:27

Hmm. Evidently not what was required then just. When did you realise things weren't going as you wished? Quite recently? Its very difficult to make sense from nonsense. Not bullying you, just asking a question. So you didnt vote for this and any failure is the fault of Cameron and remainers? Obvious really.
